    I've watched several videos today on the the 430 Max 10 K. Your video is, BY FAR, the most informative. Congratulations! You continue to be my "go to Source" as to what newly released clubs really offer. Thank you...

    I got fittet into this 10k driver.. It was a no brainer for me, consistent Smash factor at 1,49 10 out of 10 fairways.. I got it with the Tour 2.0 Grey. Sving speed was on average that day 105-110mph So now im just waiting for it to arrive :-)
    Keep up the work, love you indeept reviews. Greetings from Denmark

    Best technical and data review I’ve seen on any driver. Just the facts, thank you very much.
    One of my playing partners just purchased the 10 degree last week and let me hit it a few times. Just amazing in how much more distance I experienced with this club. I’m 74 years old and have a slower swing (85-90) but hit pretty good and usually keep it in the middle and straight or a little tail with my Rogue ST Max at 11.5 degrees. A great drive for me is about 230-240 total. This past week I was driving the ball very well and tried the 10k on #18 after I had already possibly my best drive for the day. Same ball, same conditions, and hit the G430 10k honestly 20 yards past my Rogue ST tee shot. And I did it three times in a row. 😳.
    Wasn’t planning on buying a new driver, probably ever. But 20 yards increase and it’s just so easy for me to hit it…. It’s just crazy.
    Subscribed. And if anyone cares, I’m a 14 handicap (crappy putter).

    I’ve played Titleist drivers for 20+ years and just switched to the ping lst and wow what a difference ( using the same shaft in fitting) . 15 yards more in carry plus 10 yards in role , very impressive!!!! Look’s totally different but feels great and performs awesome. I’m a 1.6 index and don’t switch clubs unless it’s a huge gain …. This was . We’ll done Ping !!

    Fantastic video as always Jay, I tested both the 10k and the Max recently and for me and my swing the G430 Max with the weight moved gave a tighter dispersion for me and was slightly longer. Both great drivers but I think there is a G430 Max in my near future 🙂

    It is by far the best driver I have ever owned. It has been in my bag since mid February. I have never had more confidence with a driver in my hand stepping up on to the tee box. Not only is it forgiving but it spins so much lower than pretty much any Max model driver out there even the TM Qi Max 10K. Thank you for the review! I also happen be a Mizuno guy too with my irons and wedges. Have the 221/225 combo and the T24 wedges in that beautiful Denim Copper finish. Cheers!

I love the distance but the mis hits are not so great. Which of the G430's have that same sound and feel of the old G30. Btw, I will never get rid of my G30, it will stay in the rack for emergiencies:-) I wasn't able to adjust the G30 as you might recall.

    Great comparison between the Max and Max 10K! Was looking to put one of these in my bag. I recently grabbed the G430 Max 5W and 3H and I’m blown away on the performance of them. Great looking club at address and super easy to hit. I’m going to have to hit both models side by side and see which one is right for me. Do you think the 10K is warranted with an extra $300 price tag?

    Love your videos!
    I tried searching for a “face heat map” for this club… but couldn’t find one. What’s the most forgiving spot on the 10ks driver face? I tend to hit high toe a lot with my max 430… no matter how hard I try not to.. it’s still my favourite strike location lol. Just seeing if this one is better with high toe then the max 430. Thanks for all that you do!

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Месяц назад +1

      Difficult to know as I reviewed this driver before the heatmaps evolved. I guess there's always a cut off point where one new measure of equipment starts and leaves some opened questions regarding the old especially when measuring it together. If I get a chance to evaluate the old woods (the new G is nearly upon us) then I absolutely will and include that information in either the new Driver review or a direct comparison 👍

    On paper, this sounds like a must try for me. My SS and launch numbers say LST, but the forgiveness of the Max offsets the LST gains, especially on my local courses that aren't exceptionally long.
    I'm in a Fuji TR blue. I tried the Black but didn't get on with the kick point. The 10K might let me keep the blue and lower my spin. I guess I better start returning those pop cans for the deposit...

      Launch wise it would need to possibly sit at a good 10 if not 10. 5 fro the equivalent 10K at 9 degrees, but the spin profile as such is lower on the 10K than that of the Max so by upping loft to match the 10K, the Max would just spin more and pull further behind the 10K.
      This is only relative to the actual requirements of the golfer depending on Club Head Speed and individual swing dynamics 👍🏻

      I believe and I could be wrong but I believe the G430 MAX (Std) the 10.5 degree head and weight in the Draw position causes that specification to be just over 10K, although as soon as loft and weight positions move around it will inevitably change the relative MOI 👍🏻

      It's not to say that I won't come out of retirement 😊 to do the odd but here and there, it's mainly more to me needing to be within a custom fitting environment that goes the extra mile in getting enough extra fitting equipment to give the client the fitting experience they deserve. 👍🏻

  • @Pud56
    @Pud56 Год назад +2

    I was fitted for the 430 max, and must be the only player that didn’t like it, found it insipid, might have been a poor fitting? It spun up, didn’t have a strong flight, tried it with various shafts, same result, Play a TSR2, and that’s fantastic. You will soon be reviewing the new Qi10, some thoughts. TM say the new carbon face fits the head better, is that an acknowledgement of a design fault in the Stealth, seems like it in light of the red faces dropping off in their droves. MOI of 10,000, Stealth was 8500 which is now then LS version MOI, also the max plays shorter both in distance carried and length of shaft because of the hosel construction; whilst folk want forgiveness, loss of distance to the tune of 20 yards is an expensive mitigation. Where do I get 20 yards from, I’ve tried it against the standard version, be interested to see your trial when doing your usual excellent all around the face stuff. I wont be trying the Ping, the Titliest is just so good, looks better and trustworthy. Enjoy the next few weeks of testing, busy beyond compare no doubt.

  • @stephenferris7274
    @stephenferris7274 Год назад

    so what settings do you need in the max to make it a 10k moi? it seems to me the 10k model is longer, straighter and more forgiving, and I would have thought you can manipulate shot shape via the loft sleeve anyway? so it still seems to make the standard max redundant, unless I'm missing something? thanks for all your work on this.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Год назад +1

      The Max is a slightly lower launching and higher spinning head that has the flight versatility in the weighting system without resorting to using the shaft adapter and sometimes there needs to be a two pronged attack with the loft sleeve and the weighting system needing to tag team to produce the required ball flight, the 10K doesn't have that. If anything due to the higher launch lower spin properties it's actually probably a smaller market than the Std Max 👍🏻

  • @suprand
    @suprand Год назад

    Gonna give this a try. Have a steeper angle of attack and struggle with high spin. But not good or fast enough for the low spin heads (102-105 swing speed) and I have tried them all. This may be sweet spot

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Год назад

      From a balanced perspective of being a Coach and Custom Fitter, I'd say that it would be better for your golf to spend the money on lessons to tweak driver delivery and maybe have some time to look at other areas of the swing/game that aren't quite as good as you like. The 10K is an addition to forfil a set of heads but won't be able to overcome a swing characteristic that makes them less effective 👍🏻

  • @colecole4774
    @colecole4774 11 месяцев назад

    Would love to see this compared to the g425 max that “Total MOI that pushes a record 10,000…” (directly from Pings website) to show why they are now really pushing that it’s 10k when it’s already been done… is it lower Spinn with 10k MOI or what…

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  11 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely that, really they need to change their message as they have achieved the 10k mark a few times, even the G425 was 10k but only in certain loft and weight placements. The G400 Max was their true first 10k but it wasn't massively long and ball speed wasnt brilliant.
      The G430 is a true 10k driver but the message should be, now with Higher Launch and Lower Spin. Very much like the new Mizuno ST230 Max Driver 👍

      Hi there, well that would very much depend on what your flight characteristics are and what you need. The Max 10K has a slightly higher launch and lower spin properties to that of the Standard Max. Generally at those club head speeds you'll be keeping a good eye on spin rates and launch angles, so I would firmly suggest that you seek the correct help as you could be leaving a serious amount of distance and usability on the table 👍

      Without knowing the intricate details of your delivery, anything I say is based on my best guess but with the slightly higher initial launch but lower spin levels it should absolutely hit the ball with a slightly lower apex height, and with the higher initial launch although minor could lead you to further reduce the loft of the driver benefiting even more 👍🏻👍🏻

After a day on the range, all I can say is WOW… It’s so incredibly forgiving and I’m getting as good if not better distance from it than my old Titleist. Will have to get it on a launch monitor to tune the loft/spin. Thanks for the incredible in depth reviews. Love the numbers!

    I played g430 lst.
    What's interesting is the lst has smaller back weight at 23g and still weighs more then the g430 10k, I find the 10k launches a little too high for me, if I swapped out the 28g weight for the 23g weight in my last, would that help lower lainch? I already have it set to 8 deg. I can tell the 10k is especially more forgiving on off center hits, but wondering how using the lighter back weight will affect this driver. Also, would setting it to flater setting would it help with minimizing slice

    I’m a woman playing off 2.4 with a club speed of 80mph and swing around 5 degrees in to out (which I’m working on!). Have a stealth 2 but struggled all year with it, despite trying different shafts and settings. Typically have good efficiency (centre or toe hits) but very variable flight paths with stealth 2. Experimented back to my Ping G410 plus at the weekend - all fairways hit with a lovely straight flight but too spinny (which was why I changed!). Think I’ll go back to Ping but hard to find reviews for something more akin to my swing speed (where is Sophie Walker when you need her!). Anyway, your knowledge of these faces and clubs is fantastic - would you think the Max 10k would suit me best (perhaps in a 12 degree to get the right spin window) or would the standard Max be a better option given the adjustable weight? Obviously I’ll test both, but there’s a limit to how much testing you can do so any thoughts much appreciated on what would give me the straightest flight given my swing flaws. TIA!

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Nicky, firstly congrats on the great handicap level you have attain 👏 👏
      With regards to the 10K specifically. If you test the Max and you see a flight that requires a touch more launch with less spin then the 10K is worth testing. If however you are looking to be able to dial in the flight, as you said before the Max has that tuning port of that whilst the 10K is a touch more rigid. From your info you won't want the forgiveness benefits of the heads but what people neglect to learn is forgiveness isn't just the ability to miss hit and hit target, it's also having a more stable spin profile on randomised hits. So I would suggest that maybe the Ping would be a better suit especially if you need that stability of flight but at a slightly higher low spinnjng profile 👍🏻

I personally don't think many if any will see any gains in terms of Forgiveness but going the 10K rather than standard Max, would see a flight difference as the 10K launches higher and spin slightly less. The 10k is suitable for many speed speeds, the only question is which version of the driver fits you best , it comes in 9 , 10.5 and 12 degree heads and are adjustable +/- 1.5 degrees. If 82 is your driver swing speed and not your 7 iron. you are probably looking towards the 12D head and then adjusted as needed.

      Andy is right, it's very difficult to give an in depth answer as club head speed is just one of many parameters needed before knowing which and what to suggest. Someone's strike, path, face to path, angle of attack, dynamic loft etc is all so important to be able to see what you'll potentially need for your speed and swing characteristics.
      As a general rule, the slower the swing the higher the loft needed although that's not always the case with golfers that deliver certain wrist angles which cause issues with inefficient loft deliveries. 👍🏻

    What happen if your swing speed is 95mph?

    Or, do I have to go HL version?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  11 месяцев назад +1

      Very much so depends on your spin and launch profile. The best way to think of any review that shows how one head relates to another whether it is a higher of lower spinning, higher or lower launching head etc, is how it will relate to your requirements. Spin will always reduce with swing speed but also then dynamic loft will need to also increase to try and launch the ball more, then by upping the loft it will naturally increase spin.
      Its very much so determining how one head that differs measurably to that of another, and how that will sit within your swing equipment requirements. 👍👍👍
