I really like the 48 scale, small enough that you can display it, but large enough that you can paint the little fiddly bits.
Another masterpiece kit, Andy, well done.
Hello how about the 72 scale? Is it too small? If I'm not wrong, it is roughly the size of a hand.
@@kingston944 yeah 1/72 seems to be a bit too small. I built Takoms 1/72 Leopard 2a7 and it went together a dream but the tracks made me wanna jump down a flight of stairs. They were SO SMALL. Its a nice scale cuz it doesnt take up a lot of space but its not an ideal scale for ppl with large fingers or beginners. 1/48 seems to be the best middle scale for everybody

The 1/16 Abrams was too hot and the 1/48 Abrams was too cold but the 1/35 Abrams was just right! 😊

Great video as always. I just bought this kit today and it helped me out where the tracks are concerned. All the armor I’ve ever built had the rubber type tracks so this will be a new thing for me. As always, thanks for sharing and best wishes,

Bought this kit and your video was very well done! Have not built a tank since I was about 12 but got tired of building jets over and over in 1/72nd scale. Wanted to mention a great product for jet panel lines and weathering. It's a clay based wash that comes of any clear coat with nothing more than a piece of toilet paper or paper towel. I use cue tips to get into the hard to reach areas. Bought the enamel washes and two acrylic washes that can be used but is nothing like the FLORY clay based washes from England. Found them at one and only one place in North America at High Altitude Hobbies in Caldorado. Very fair $8 a bottle prices with cheap shipping. Buy them and get the dark dirt, black, and grime they are the best 3 out of about 6 total washes.
Perfect for tanks and if you think there is too much left on the model you simply wipe it off with a damp cue tip or paper towel. I highly recommend people try this type of wash. If your like me and have trouble with the capillary effect and time consuming cleanup of the other washes then the FLORY washes are for you. They fit in all the panel lines and rivet holes so easily it's amazing! Hope this helps out some tank builders as it's the best wash and weathering line of washes I have ever used. It's so easy to use you only need to brush it all over your model, let it dry for 20 to 30 min. and them wipe it off. It even goes over the decals if your put a some type of clear coat over the model. Steve L.

Hey Andy, nice to see a 1:48 scale model in one of your videos. I missed the 1/16 scale version you build a week ago, so I have to go back and watch. I can definitely see now parts count is significantly different from a 1:35 scale model. I like the size comparison at the end, really nice to see that.

This looks like a nice enough kit. A little short on the 'versions' front though. I just wish these all came with full interiors like the Bandai line in 1/48th used to. Those were my absolute favorite armor kits. Loved the scale and the detail lol. Nice work on this one.

Much as I hate Reddit I've been lurking on the modeling sub for a while. I still haven't gotten anything, too much going on and about to be moving but I think I'll start with the M4 line then move to German tanks. How long have you been doing it?
Bought all the paints you used so I can color match your model perfectly. I plan on doing a bit more weathering than you did but your build looks great!!

That must have seemed pretty fiddly after the 1/16th version. A bit easier on the paint stocks though! Nice build and saves on building an extension to the shop too.

William Rowland One tip is to practice on some scrap plastic or a cheap model. There is no substitute for practice. ☺

A very nice model , i wish Tamiya would do a early T 72 in 1/48 and some modern infantry circa 1970,1980s in 1/48.
can you drill out the support piece that's visible in the main gun if your careful? I hate seeing the main 120mm gun blocked by the support that's about 5mm inside the main gun.

Would like to point out that the sight in front of the commanders cupola is the gunners primary sight and the pole at the back of the tanks turret is the range finder. (not be to be rude great video just thought id point it out)
Can you do a model ship? I myself have always had more fun building ships. I might recommend the Tamiya 1/350 USS Missouri or Bismarck. Nonetheless I love your videos and am excited for the ones to come keep up the good work!!! : )

If you get a spare time on the channel I think you should build a Challenger 2 it would go really well with the m1a1/2

The kit looks good but wondering is it for beginner in military model kit?
Has anyone use the weld beads that are a resin on a decal sheet in different scales to replace or add welding beads to your tanks? They are available at Spru Brothers for about $17. You apply them under the paint and they add a three dimensional weld to the areas that need them. I have not tried them yet but they look cool and are a nice aftermarket kit for any tank kit.

Did you paint the main wheels with a rubber color on the top round side? The real tank has rubber around the wheels for a smoother ride.

Mike P its better to build things as far as possible before painting, though obviously some parts will have to be painted separately
Is there a place I can go that will paint them for me? I don't think I would do a very good job and don't want it to look bad to be bland grey.
The kit i have is molded n a desert sand color, very close to the actual color it will be finished in, what does this mean i am confused do i finish it like that?

I use the vallejo mud as a glue and it works very well , then you can blend it end

Don't hold your breath, just get Revell's 1/72 M1A2. I know Revell isn't generally associated with quality, but it is a fine kit.
I propose a challenge of mega proportions a scale diorama in the scale of your chois of the battle of kursk not all of Kurds but one square kilometer (that has to match the scale you pick of course) filled with German and Russian tanks, infantry, armored trucks, spgs spaas and other stuff ... so what do you say do you take the challenge

Jesse Gottlieb Tamiya straight pointed tweezers are worth every penny. Don't use cheap tweezers they are useless. ☺

Question: Why do you put the model kit together first, and only paint after? Wouldn't that leave some parts of the tank unpainted?
you know what guys .. the Tamiya 1/48 black box line should be the alternative for the 1/35 that's getting crazy expensive everyday, but the 1/48 kits themselves are expensive too!.
With the new 1/16 kits trending we should see lower prices on the smaller scales, but this doesn't appear to be the case. One shouldn't struggle to practice the hobby he/she loves!. I never support expensive kits by purchasing them no matter how I really want it.
Vortex plastic is more expensive than ever and the exchange rate from the far East is not so good, however if you camp out on eBay you will find Tamiya and Dragon etc kits for much less than RRP. For example I bought the recent Tamiya AMX 13 for £25 delivered and it came with aftermarket tracks, you just have to persevere.
Oh? All the time I thought all Tamiya's 1/48 have a die casted hull. seem like this 1 is plastic.
ualuuanie they did originally, but they decided a plastic hull with weights would be more practical.
And hopefully they can make it cheaper too :)
