Andy, with each video you get better at explaining and presenting. You are really adding to my model building experiences. That is a great model!
The figures that Tamiya include in their newer kits are amazing...almost resin quality now!
What a brilliant kit ......well done tamiya, great build Andy
I just bought this same kit today and now that I've seen the finished product I'm really looking forward to building it. Thank you for another great build and video!
I recently finished Academy’s M-12 155m..loved it. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one. Looks like the additional barrel is a must. Love everything that Tamiya does
One of the most detailed models I have ever seen. Thank you for your detailed explanation.
Wow, this kit is incredible. So many workable components! Great video Andy!
Wow, that's some high praise! A must have, certainly.
Keep up the good work Andy. I'm sure the videos take a lot of your time but are exactly what hobbyists need. Your clear and simplified instructions help immensely and make it more fun. Wish your store was closer, I'd be a regular customer. Thank You!
Great video! I really love how you show all of the viewers how to weather each kit specifically
What an exceptional kit. Amazing build video. Thanks for sharing this with us Andy.
Thank you for watching
@@AndysHobbyHeadquarters kit is nice build is nice, but paint is too dark Andy :)
Try give a lighter colours on a test model and decide what looks better for you. Regards.
this reminds me of Matchbox M40 1/76 scale, thank you for sharing
1:35 spanner, great video changed my mind about this kit
I know this is an old build, but probably one of your best and one of my favourites....stunning kit, stunning video....
WOW! This kit rocks!!!!! Amazing! The amount of detail you put into this as well as time and effort show that you really do love your craft!!!!
Tamiya makes good products. I climbed all over a M40 as a kid, a park in my town had one with open hatches even!
Thank you
that's awesome that you had that opportunity. Makes me wish I had that stuff around me as a kid!
really??? darn, pretty cool stuff
You are really lucky, you know, sometimes, (as a kid myself) I fantasize a Sherman Jumbo, or a Super Pershing or something in my backyard. xD it’s true...
@@pankakeeyes6237 had the same hopes. But my dream would have been a Leo1 a Super Pershing and an ah1
So perfect video for a beautifull kit ! Thank you Andy !!!
Hi Andy,
Well you have produced another great video and a very good kit build, I always look forward to your videos.
Happy Modelling,
Les
Excellent detail! Tamiya has come a long way since I was a kid.
Awesome videos! Keep up the great work. I had just started the M40 kit myself when I watched this. Thanks for the tips. I have one for you. In the past I've had the issue you've had with the TS-80 eating the decals. now I put a thin watered down coat of Vallejo Matt Finish over just the decal and havent had an issue since. Happy Modeling!
Great work! Amazing job on the paint.
Love tthem Tamiya kits there well tooled , they just fall together. good video😃
I know this is a couple of years old but I've only been modeling for about a year and intended doing a German nashorn next but after seeing this kit and how it looks finished, I have to have one of these instead.
I especially like the way things are workable like the breech.
Expertly done Andy and a nicely done video too.
I hope mine turns out half as good as this. I'll be well happy if it does.
Thank you for your hard but enjoyable work from me in South Wales 🏴
Andy, great build review. I have been following your channel for a while and I can honestly say I love it. Greetings from Sweden.
Thank you for watching

best modeler ever
thank you for posting! amazing kit . beautiful job completing a weapon that was known in our outfit affectionately as 'Ma Deuce'. or 'Big Ugly Fugger'. Patton once called the 155mm "the greatest battlefield implement ever"!
Bullshit. Are you stealing valor? You misattributed that Patton quote - he said "In my opinion, the M-1 Rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised" & the "Ma Deuce" is the name for the M2 Browning. There is no rational reason to call the M40 155mm "Ma Deuce".
I like how this model turned out. It looked like a quite enjoyable build.
Its good to see some dry brushing. Love your channel!!!
Very enjoyable watch. Nice work And - love the paint and weathering.
Very nice kit! The gun cradle assembly was very interesting with the scale wrench.
Nice work Andy, I have seen this in my hobby shop a couple of times but haven't bought it yet but it is on the list.
Hey Andy this model kit was fun and thanks for giving me some tips and pointers
Guy
I have just started making Tamiya 1/35 scale after 43 years since my last attempts. On my forth model an M40 self propelled gun. I have just given it a spray with Tamiya flat coat as seen in your video.what a great result. Keep up the good work Andy and keep making your videos.
Wow I am impressed with the quality of this model.
That tiny Box Wrench is pretty cool, would make a perfect addition for a Tank Repair Shop diorama
Awesome. Would love to see a Trumpeter MTVR build.
Excellent video Andy! Definitely need to get myself one of these! 👍👌👏
Another great looking and informative build Andy. Cheers
Its so glorious. You have a great channel and do quality reviews.
That was an incredible job!
As always, great video and build!
Since I'm recovering from lower back surgery and can't work on my models this is the next best thing, thanks Andy.
Thanks for watching
I'm sorry, are you ok?
hope u r getting better now mate.austraila joe.love Andy video's so much.wht this kit.
Hope you recover easily,
That is one nice model, although I shudder to imagine what it will cost retail. A very big "thank you" Andy, I have been using some of your techniques lately and they make a BIG difference in how my models look. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you for watching
Excellent review! Congratulations and greetings from Argentina.
Andy, I worked on them in the Army for 6 years it will rock your world good build Andy
Great build Andy, excellent subject, all you need now is to do the crew ! and a diorama for it.
Great bild Andy,as always verry nice to watch your video's!!!!
Thanks for the upload! I'm eyeing this kit on Ebay. If I ever manage to visit my mother in New Mexico, I'll definitely try and make it to your store!
Very nicely done, I really wish Tamiya would release a 1/35 M18 Hellcat someday.
Great build, I am getting back into model building and this I want to be my first kit. Been shopping around for it.
Thank you
Great job on her Andy. Almost done with mine. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Could not have said it better about this kit. Awesome kit. Now I wish they would do a Bergepanther the same way. LOL
A beautiful kit well built. A lot of nice options too with all the working parts.
Thank you
wow, super detail...i like this kit...will be grab one later... :) nice building video also! i'm a fans of any millitary vehicle!
Greetings from Holland Andy. Really enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work!
P.S. love the music too, very soothing...
Great job of weathering process, it's cool!
Now I want to get that kit. looks very good!
After watching, I think this might be my next build!
excellent video Andy, i have one of those kits somewhere in my stash of models to build
Hey Andy, would love to see a Centurion tank done. Maybe even in Australian markings from Vietnam. Love your work mate!
Great job Andy!
Love the tank, love how you build it
Wow, that's some nice fitting of the parts, compared to when I put some kits together during the 80s... Nice video, enjoyed it!
Yet another great build Andy, thanks for §haring.
Thanks for this Clip, Andy. I've seen this kit for Sale and Not Bought it. Due to it's Cost.
Now I know why..! It's Detail and Engineering is so Intense that's why it's 'A little more costly..!'
Great work as Always and Thanx for your Efforts..! Finished Product looks Great..!
Cheers from Oz & Stay well..!!
Kim Downunder.😎
I love your enthusiasm
This looks to be a great kit and is defiantly on my shopping list, turned out really well, gj Andy :)
Definitely
Nice job and thank you very much, Andy
Andy there is something that I do to add a thick layer of mud on tanks. What I do is take revell filler, and apply it thickly under the wheel wells with a really stiff big brush. Make sure you do a sort of stippling technique. Then you just paint over it with whatever colors you want or the tracks are being wheatered to whatever. It will go through quite a bit of filler, but it is well worth it.
Looks great Andy just ordered one for Christmas present along with the barrel kit
Great build, Andy. I don’t generally build military kits, but might need to consider branching out for this beautifully well-detailed kit. I wanted to ask you, though, most everybody I’ve talked to says you need to put decals on a slick surface vs. matt to ensure good adhesion as well as no silvering will occur as the vehicle ages. Beautiful build!
Excellent job & video!
Andy your videos are just plain fun....informative on these various kits. Inspirational as well.
Apperciate your time and effort .
How about a RFM Afrika Corp Tiger I? Build and paint?
And the RFM M4A3E8 build and paint?
Cheers!!!!
You obviously have done this many times.. I really love watching this kit being built.
Are the writen instruction easy to follow? My friend wanted me to learn how to use an air brush to help him to paint the figures and the models. thanks for these great videos. I like watching this for sure.
Can't wait to get mine.
This is great I feel like getting one😉👍
excellent build and informative vids andy, regards from the u.k.
Just a quick comment regarding painting of OVE (On-vehicle equipment, shovels, axes, sledges, etc.), these implements were painted OD until 1st Gulf War. Handles as well as blades. You would experience shading (oils) in wooden handles and scraping of blades, however, but not natural coloring.
I have learned a lot from watching your videos, and want to say thank you.
thank you for watching
I like this kit alot thanks for the vid Andy btw xf60 is a great colour to use for your previous shading g with xf62 it's alot more complementary than white awesome build though kutgw cheers
this kit is awsome
i loved! just loved!!!!
Andy I love your channel. Great production and really nice presentation. I only wish you could build more planes and that you change the intro to something more advanced ;) To match the quality of your work!
IVE BEEN USING A TESTORS BRAND DULLCOTE, WHICH LOOKS GOOD, BUT I FIND THAT IT CAUSES THE MARKFIT TO IMMEDIATELY BEAD UP & DISAPPEAR AS SOON AS I PUT IT ON.
THINKING ABOUT SWITCHING TO THAT TAMIYA DULLCOTE YOU MENTIONED.
GREAT BUILD, LOVE THE VIDEOS! KEEP THEM COMING!
Bro just come across you I already love your vids
Hi Andy, great video sbs again. You might wanna consider the scale factor when it comes to painting tough. As large surfases reflect more light they seem much brighter. The XF62 is the most correct color for olive drab in scale modeling, that is right. But at a scale of 1:1 ! To achieve an appropriate tone in 35th scale you may want to add ~25% of XF60 Dunkelgelb. During the weathering process the whole vehicle receives washes, fading dust and alike. This additionally darkens the vehicle so much that you end up with an olive drab that is too dark.
The same rules apply to all colors you spray, Andy. Please give it a second thought and your models will improve even more.
Cheers and happy modeling
Gunnar
Andy can you make a more detailed video on how to apply the Ts 80 flat clear and when in the processes of the bulid to apply it? Pls i think that will help some people
Maciek Wawryszyn apply it after painting, after decaling and after weathering if you do any
Godzilla thank you wery much .
Maciek Wawryszyn np mate
I like the dry brushing effect. It seems like no one does that anymore.
Tres belle vidéo j'adore vos video et les maquettes encore plus . Good vidéo :-)
WOOWWWWWWW... TAMYA IS ONE OF THE BEST!
I built one and it is as Andy says. Highest quality.
have you tried rubbing the edge of a HB lead pencil on the edges for chipping or paint wearing
you are an artist
I just finished weathering a tamiya mark 4 single motor, could you pls show you making the same kit.
Tamiya kit's are the best.Well worth the money
Cool beans, man! These are great!
Glad you like them!
I love your work and all your tanks models you have a natural talent 💪🤓🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much 👍
Back in my elementary school days, I used to build Tamiya M-41 Walker Bulldog for the first time, and I recall HOW HARD for me to connect those rubber track. I tried everything from the manual, from gluing it with ALL KIND OF GLUE, staple it, up to heating it, but those DAMN RUBBER TRACK simply come loose when I tried to put it on those tank wheels.
I quit building tanks from that moment on and switch to building aircraft models.
Try revell kits, they got molded plastic tracks and its a bit easyer
No way Andy. I just built this myself and am doing a Vietnam diorama with it. Hope you enjoyed it!!
Hey can put in some links on where u brought the tank
@@taposhichowdhury1884 I got it at my local hobby store
@@tannarriley9012 oh I wonder how dangerous this model tank could be a hobby
I'm just a 10 year old who like tanks n im on my moms account
@@tannarriley9012 man ur comment is four years ago
I know this is an old video but I am glad I ran across it. I have this model on the way. I'll start the build in about a week. Seeing this will help me understand what I need to. It will also make the build go alot smother. Thank you for your time.
How did it go?
@@Commander_Koyke it's going good. Injoying it. Trying to learn how to airbrush at the same time. I have 3 waiting brother in law bought me an air brush about 3 months ago. Got a lot to learn. It's the first time in around 40 years since I have done any modeling.
@@georgewilson5303 Good luck! Wish i have my own money right now so i can buy my own.
@@Commander_Koyke hang in there you will get there. Took me a life time to get where I am now. I worked 3 jobs most of my life. I retired at 55. Paid off my home and everything else. I owe no one nothing. I am now 69 and enjoying life. I stared with nothing. Father through me out at 18. I wouldn't let him hit me or my sister anymore. I lived in the woods, in tent. For a long time. I had my shotgun some pots and pans. That is where I started.
To save the decals I did one coat of xf-86 directly on the decals only and after that I use TS-80 and my decals are safe!
Excellent!
