Abus gun of Ottoman is the best unique unit. You don't have to train culverin when you already have them. Don't forget they function as Ottoman skirmisher also. So they actually perform double role: skirmisher and culverin. Imagine that you only use 2 population slots for every abus gun that function as both skirmisher and culverin. Russia' s Cossack is also one of the best unique unit in the game. Abus Gun is the best infantry -artilery unique unit, cossack is the best cavalry unique unit. They are fast, as fast as Hussar but only use one population slot. Two Cossacks that use the same two population slot like one Hussar is a lot stronger in attack and hitpoints than one Hussar. Three Cossacks that uses the same three population slots as one sipahi or one Cuirassier, are ot only a lot stronger than each of them but they are also slighly faster. They funcion as anti infantry cavalry like Cuirassier, Sipahi, and Lancer, but faster and can be trained in earlier age. They also serve as villager raiding cavalry, which is a lot more effective than hussar. Since available early, Russia is one of the earliest and most effective civilization when it comes to early villagers raiding.
Jäger is german and what they are wearing is called a "Schlafmütze" in german, which means something like "Sleeping-cap". But back when Jäger were used, these Caps were in military use.
In my opinion, you don't even need to know how to play age III that well, just take the japanese and you gonna win, unless you got destroyed before you finish your army D=
Seems like a strange poll. Including mercs as "unique" units seems strange since mercs aren't really unique, and putting musk-type units with archers and riflemen is also a bit stange. SamuraiRevolution You also forgot to mention that Spahi regenerate health slowly over time as well, so when they take heavy damage, you can pull the out of the fight for a little while, and in 3-5 minutes, they're already back up to 3/4 of their maximum health from one health, all on their own. I do have a question though. In that latest British gameplay you showed, the Spanish player was all over his missionaries(he had like 12 of them) and was using them in the front line for lots of healing. I feel like this strategy is a rather poor one, considering the priest/imam/missionary/surgeon/French explorer with upgrade 's healing is a ability on a cooldown, rather than something that is slow but always going, like in Age Of Empires II. I don't generally like the healing strategy in this game as I personally feel that healers are majorly underpowered thanks to their healing not being automatic(once again, like in Age of Empires II, and only having manual healing except for field hospitals means that such requires a frankly ridiculous amount of micro) and, as I said, also due to the fact that their healing is treated more like the faith mechanic for conversions from the previous game(except without the randomness in success rate) than the healing in Age Of Empires II. I would however, like to know your thoughts on this. Do you use healer units often? If so, why, and in what way? If not, what is your reasoning in not using them?
