I have a lot of memories of this on the SNES. I love the visuals and the music, and tried so hard to love the gameplay - I mean, it's Godzilla and it's NOT a fighting game but an adventure.. but I always found the battles to feel unfair or cheap. It was so easy for the AI to curbstomp you. I was so impressed with how well this run went, though! I had never been able to get to King Ghidorah as Super Godzilla without exceeding the 50% damage rating, so I didn't actually know what happened if you did - aside from the fact that you'd be able to transform again sooner.
Thanks. The SDA link in the description has a full written description of what goes on in this run, but I'm sure you meant audio instead. It's just never been one of my strong points, unfortunately. :(
Amazing. Simply amazing. There is so much I didn't even know about this game and having played the living hell out of it back in the day, for instance I though the game was trolling me saying you can destroy the battra cocoon, yet you actually can make it in time to kill the cocoon battra if you trip the mines............ and that Biollante exploit left me speechless. Now I want to speed run this.
Just did a run and got good RNG at the various parts of the game, got a 49:15.27, I think I could of been in record pace, if I did better on the fights especially the mechagodillia fight could of been better(and battra, super gidora, and bagan all where able to get one attack on me, and 1 one building away from being at 50% destruction) so I still have room to improve, and if I get a capture card I can stream this.
RetroTom Good to hear someone else is interested in this. If you're feeling really crazy, you can actually skip the mothership in stage 2. I'm not sure if it's faster, but you go straight to 2-A before immediately heading back to the left edge of 1-B. If you're lucky, Mechagodzilla will roam right and you'll have only a few seconds to catch it before it mysteriously warps away. It's probably a TAS-only thing, but just thought I'd let you know anyway.

Just watched Godzilla King of the monsters and it had me thinking about this game and how I used to play it all the time when I was a kid, and how many times I beat it. Also I got so tired of fighting those alien ships all the time. Never thought about just punching and bumping onto them for a quick win.
This is awesome m8. i have this cartridge and beat it every few years. I read the SDA page and explanations of fast strats/spawns. really awesome speed game. didn't know sub hour was possible.

If I had to pick one, maybe Biollante or Battra 2. Biollante purely because lack of practice fighting fairly, but I remember the second Battra being more aggressive. Luckily, neither of these come up in a speedrun. :)
His Archer It happened by accident once, so I wanted to see if I could do it on purpose. I thought it was linked to running away quickly after killing a feeler at first, but after a little testing on an emulator, I found out the back feeler triggers it. Only took some trial and error. :)
This game is easy to speed run through. No I can't beat ur record, but I would like to see you attempting to beat the whole game as Regular Godzilla! :) No Super Godzilla enhancement.
+Christopher Corral The issue there is that Bagan is probably impossible as regular Godzilla. Your punches and special attacks do almost no damage, and you can't take more than a few hits in return. Bagan's AI makes approaching it extremely difficult, so you'd have to run away from the battle constantly. Even if you had a system for doing damage, I think you'd have to stock a ton of lives and continues just to have enough time. :(
YayMarsha Ahh! But then that's a real challenge ;) Can anyone do it? Idk, people have beaten Ganondorf in the first game with almost no arsenal, people have beaten Silver Surfer with no deaths, people have even beaten Battletoads 2 players without hitting eachother once, which I thought was impossible. So I mean I'm sure there's someone out there who can do it. In no way is it easy, but whoever does that challenge in Super Godzilla, deserves a fuckin' medal and will become an instant legend... Among youtube fans XD
Bagan has 900 health, cannot be stunned, period, has insanely fast ai, does about 120 health per hit, and takes about, what 40 damage from strong fire breath? It's not possible.

I love this game sooo much, imagine if they made a Nintendo Switch remaster, insta game and system buy.
I'd pay $30 or less for an HD remaster of this or a collection including this.

Man I can't even beat battra cause the hyper speedy breath attack never comes up! It's like a 10% chance it will pop up

That Biollante glitch... how did you do that?
His Archer Kill only the back feeler, then escape. When you go back into the fight, Biollante won't move.

Is item use allowed? Cuz I remember beating him all the time as regular Godzilla so long as I stocked items
