    Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had the worst performance of his career on Sunday. Here's how Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz (and edge rusher Myles Garrett) shut him down.

    You’re the only person who gave the Cleveland defense credit. The media has made excuses for Burrow’s poor play and didn’t even mention that he was outplayed by Watson.

      Mainly because the browns are seen as a joke. The Watson trade rubbed the majority of people the wrong way. And I think the media is scared to talk about him in a positive light too much. And that includes his team.

      In all honesty Joe Burrow was rusty like he was last year in week 1. Add in the stiff calf he was tentative at best and the rain. It all made for a perfect storm. But I still believe the Bengals are the class of the AFC North and will have another deep playoff run. Who Dey All Day and Everyday!!!

    The most astonishing thing about the Browns defense's performance is that they did this without the benefit of a single TO. In fact, the Browns were -2 in TOs for the game or the margin of victory might've been much greater.

    Very insightful video. Yes, there was an opportunity for the Bengals but you can say that about every team. If the pass rush consistently wins then it doesn't matter if there is an opportunity down field.

      @@ArchyBeatzidk why ppl keep saying this it’s A LIE the after we made the playoffs and had high expectations the next year BAKER GOT HURT that’s why we weren’t successful! Wish y’all would stop saying it’s because expectations 💀

    • @ArchyBeatz
      @ArchyBeatz 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@thesportsfein Not a lie at all, I've been a Browns fan for over 25 years, I've seen them win 1 playoff game... And I don't buy the "Baker was hurt" excuse either. He played 14 games, he should have sat and healed instead of playing lackluster majority of the season. Expectations were very high following the 2020/21 playoff win season. The next season they missed the playoffs after Browns lost 3 straight late in the season and missed the playoffs, and Baker was out. 2022/23 season many people thought Watson could put together something late in the season and we could make the playoffs, nope. So this season we have a lot of the same core talent but no one has high expectations right now even after the impressive win in week 1.

      Steelers can't handle this pass rush. I look for them to run the ball a lot. I look for Watson to have a stellar day 3 TD at least.

    on that 4th down, even if burrow threw to boyd he was short of the sticks and the defender was already crashing on top of him.

    What's hilarious is when people say "Myles only got 2 sacks" or "browns defense didn't get any turnovers though". But they literally ran the ball 17 times FOR THE GAME (so less likely to get a fumble). And Burrow didn't force anything or take any risks which is why he threw the ball 31 times for 82 yards. You actually showed the time to throw and pressure rate in that he was pressured within 3 seconds of the snap and got it out in less than that time almost every time. For fucks sake people, THE BENGALS BENCHED THEIR FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK WITH 6 MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME. I'm not sitting here saying these browns are the 85 bears, but give them some goddamn credit.
    (Separate but similar to this is showing the Watson interception from the only available angle that doesn't show it getting deflected by the defensive linemen. And then being like "well at least burrow didn't throw it directly to the defender")

  • @one1blue
    @one1blue 9 месяцев назад

    Browns just have the Bengals number. Joe Burrow literally never gets blown out by anybody. And then they play the Browns and look terrible almost every time.

    You’re very smart when it comes down to it. However, Burrow should have been throwing at the blitz and running screens. On most of those clips he has hot routes WIDE OPEN. The seam route on the fake screen should have been a touchdown. I can’t believe you don’t understand that is 100% on Burrow.

    • @jacobhaft9714
      @jacobhaft9714 9 месяцев назад +6

      It's like 20% on Burrow, 80% on that atrocious offensive line play. Sure, some plays there were open guys (but with 10 offensive linemen in the middle so a lot harder to judge than from our multiple skybox angles), but on the vast vast majority of plays, the centers or guards got burned well before anything developed. And from what was open for Burrow, it was essentially all check downs or hot routes open for half a second before a Browns DB is on it. Most of the clips I've seen in this video, there's two offensive lineman on the ground and a whole ass Myles Garrett 2 feet in front of Burrow's face before any wide receiver has an inch of separation. You just can't succeed as a quarterback in those conditions.
