Hey! Hope you are doing well. Actually on my bmw e60 2006 I disconnected the harness under the driver and passenger seat and restraint system fault turned on. It was not displayed before as i am driving this for long time, please tell me the fix how to turn it off. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and also tried resetting code with obd 2. Thanks in advance 😊

I had an Autophix reader for my mini and it wouldn't clear the brake sensor warning even though I replaced the brake sensor. When I went into the Mini's own service menu and cleared it, it stayed off. Sometimes these diagnostic tools don't work when you do fix the problem.

Hi, my son replaced the drivers side window mechanism recently but forgot to disconnect the battery when he had to readdress the job. As he disconnected the plug only, the air bag light has remained on. Does a reader still have to used to reset? Thanks
actually... you CAN remove the lights without fixing the problem (allthough it's not recommended for your own safety), but you can use either an emulator or a resistor to "simulate" the signal from the sensors, making it think that everything is OK.
Can you elaborate more on how to do this? I own f30 with airbag error on. Want to erase the error without fixing the problem (problem being deployed airbag)
Hi there Today I took the car to the window tinting guy whose from Romania and once I came out from there it had all the air bags lights on, I don’t know what he did to my car.
I removed my passenger seat to clean my interior and now the air bag light doesn’t go away. What do u mean by attempting this with battery off for at least 1hr? Car off for 1hr or battery disconnected?
He meant for the car battery to be disconnected for at least 1 hour before unplugging, cleaning then re-plugging the seat belt sensors and connections.
Plan and damn simple. BMW like all car manufacturers make their money from repairs not car sells. Then they make shit complicated and confusing so you fear doing the work yourself and need them. And if you can do the work yourself you have to buy expensive tools and licenses to work on it still. BMW tax!!
@@200degrees. I'm in the same boat. I had an accident and needed to fix the suspension parts. Fixed all of that for about 3k now I have a brake assist failure, DSC failure, ELV steering fault, Start assist inactive, air bag light and none of these popped up during or immediately after the accident. It was a month later after everything was fixed. Just the simple fact you have to register a new battery and need a tool to do it convinced me bmw maintenance is the car equivalent to "make em an offer he can't refuse". I've never been so worried to get to where I'm going in one piece and back home again other than when I drive this car. You never know WHEN, not if, a red warning light will pop up and if it will just die out of nowhere on you. Then to even tow it most places want to only send a flat bed to move it costing you more money and more time for them to find one. To own a bwm with piece of mind you have to be a damn bwm mechanic or a fool with plenty of money to throw away😑

Have this problem also. This veh is a pain in the azz. Broken More than Works. Just a big unreliable, piece of ish, money pit. Every other month, it's draining hundreds, even thousands of dollars. Do these people care about their product reputation? This is insane, it NEVER works. Just got out of the shop 3 days ago, now this problem. Hate it, a veh should be reliable.
BMW charges more than 200 euros to only diagnose such malfunction. BMW is trying to make money out of a safety fault reported many times for their cars. Isn’t BMW quite irresponsible to make money this way? #bmw #airbag

Answer to the title: You need to fix the problem before resetting the codes. You cannot turn the airbag light off without fixing the problem.
You can with protool, simply tell the car to disable the sensors and airbag modules.

It’s useful-you have to fix the issue like with everything else with most cars. Otherwise, you will clear the code and then it will trigger again

Why did you unplug the passenger side tension device instead of the driver side? Does it matter or do you need to check both?
What category do you select for the chimes. Mine no longer makes the sound and the beep does not sound when the car locks.

Mine came on a few weeks ago. I cleared it with my scanner and it stayed out for almost 2 weeks then Friday came on again. CC-ID 97

Yes, it keeps the code in the SRS module. You need a reader that can not only read the SRS codes bur delete them. Should be fine then.

Like most things in a BMW, it starts with the battery. Check your voltage - it may be as simple as replacing an old, worn out battery.

Check your fuses first and then replace your ABS module if the fuse was not the problem

For me it was being stupid and removing the seats before unplugging the battery
