On my 2006 GMC Sierra, my service air bag message came on the dash, as well as the air bag symbol. I took it to my mechanic, and was charged about $350. to replace the module. About 5 years later, my lights came on again. I covered the light with a piece of black tape. I was thinking maybe this module will continue to keep getting defective, but maybe the air bag may still work properly. I wonder if getting this repaired would guarantee the air bag to work properly. I heard some people thought the air bag would work when needed, but at accident time, they were surprised it didn’t work. 8:57
