It was around 2001, and I was 12 or 13 years old, sitting in a pitch-black unfinshed basement when I first played this. I had the couch, Playstation, a big screen, washer and dryer, furnace, and waterheater. The feeling I got when Sephiroth came through the floor was insane. And just as it happened, the furnace kicked on. I just about pooped my pants.😮
These moments that are literally a once in a lifetime perfect timing moment are the very best in life 🤭🌚

The Jenova fight doesn't need to take too long either, use the good old "Get Beta early" method and 2 shot it.
Can keep visiting the energy drink guy to restore MP between kills too. (if you really wanna heavy abuse this to the extent your team is out of MP)

The text box glitch doesn't overwrite any code; that's kind of a mistaken (although not entirely incorrect) way to put it. Most games work via instructions passed to a customized interpreter in a list to trigger events etc. You can see this kind of system in a lot of modern games by hitting tilde (~) to bring up a command line where you can manually insert instructions. Those instructions form a list that is executed in order. You can add instructions to the list with a priority modifier, which puts them at the top of the list immediately. Dialogue boxes are a priority instruction, and can include an instruction to toggle movement. What you are doing by quickly cancelling a dialogue box and re-opening it in a frame perfect manner is to interrupt the first dialogue box before it completes popping up, but just after it toggles movement off. This forces the dialogue instruction back to the top of the list before the next one is allowed to begin, and the toggle instruction now toggles movement back on instead of off, before the wait for confirmation begins for the end of the first dialogue box, so something like:
showFirstDialogue
toggleMovement(now off)
waitForConfirm
showNextDialogue
waitForConfirm
toggleMovement(now on)
Becomes something like:
showFirstDialogue
toggleMovement(now off)
--CANCEL HERE AND RESTART FIRST DIALOGUE--
showFirstDialogue
toggleMovement(now on)
waitForConfirm
...

It would have been pretty boring to include the full explanation XD The way you put it is accurate enough for people to understand what's happening lol I suspect what's happening in this case is the command to start climbing the ladder takes priority over the movement toggle triggered by the dialogue box, and presumably movement can't be toggled while the player is in the climbing state so it's ignored? I can't think of anywhere in the game where movement locks while you're climbing up or down.

Just did this 3x on the same save file in 2024 on steam. Still works.
That is so useful. It could save hours in grinding for master materia.
I mean just wait for magic pots in the crater and w-item glitch elixirs. Why grind for masters here when it's 100x faster in end game
@@Mynamesbob8 you can do this in minutes. It takes hours to max out the two mats just to get third one. If you can get at least two more you can save a ton of time, and you can work on it before the very end of the game.

Heard you can dupe the Alexander materia as well if you collect it as Cloud faints without closing the text box saying you obtained it.
True, you can also dupe Alexander, Added Cut, Phoenix, Shield, Counter and Mega All

I was reading a article of how much stress this game was to make for the developers because, I believe, they were new to how the PS1 stores information. Thus the creation of the debug room. Anyway, I absolutely LOVE how many glitches are in this game, and wonder, what amazing things are yet to be discovered. It really gives this game SO much more replay value and reason to explore. I wonder if Artificial Intelligence will find more bugs and glitches. I honestly don't want AI to find them, because it defeats the fun and explosive awesomeness of when these new discoveries are made.

I could see myself doing this all day just to fill all the slots with the same materia just to look at it for a few moments.
There’s one thing I’ve always wondered about since I first played it almost 30 years ago, and I figure if anyone can get to the bottom of it it’s you.
In the forgotten capitol there are a couple of glowing signs that say something along the lines of “it’s a message for the Ancients”.
Is there a way to ever actually read them? Like can you you sequence break and get there before Aerith dies to read it, or maybe use console commands to put her in your party? Or maybe even just dig through the code to see if they say anything other than that?
yeah that and what's behind the dog that blocks the doorway at junon on the way to the underwater reactor?
Wonder if we'll ever get a multi-hades glitch, that one is the best summon. Basically instant Bad Breath
i use it as a Ribbon with Added Effect
multiple KotR would help the most for perfect file grinding. once you've got everything else mastered enough for everyone to have their own set of master materia, Kotr still lagging way behind 500000 ap ....
All these years later, and there's still these whacky glitches being discovered. It's amazing how much duct tape and zip ties held FF7 together, and it's still an amazing game.
It's amazing people are still playing such a bad game. I recently started it again, and it just makes me sick to my stomach. I mean if you like it, that's fine with me. I just think 3 4 5 and 6 were way, way better.
The game was made and released in 1997, pretty amazing actually, huge game and fewer glitches than later games
Patch it with 7th Heaven mods, the game is BETTER than anything that has yet to be released 😂😂

I had an idea, that summon animation takes alot of time, would be nice if shiva/ifrit would boost fira/ice somehow, maybe everytime you rank up ice/shiva, could be more powerful combo when casted
i mean ifrit materia does increase magic stat by 1. so you could have a million of those for magic damage boost :p
this glitch is about the same as the 1 in phantasy star online on gamecube XD talk to 2 npc at once...but the procedure afterward is different....also a duplication method on phantasy star online
Fine glitch. But surely the better grind spot is back on the boat to junon again and sound the alarm in the section between the towns. Exp AP and cash
This seems like a really good way to make the Wutai side quest waaaaay easier since Ifrit is high on Yuffie's priority list. Just get 48 Ifrit materia using this glitch and you can go through that side quest without any trouble.
It is less effort to just do the side-quest normally than it is to do this 48 times....

I know in the HQ building there is some possibility of glitches but not sure if useful I can glitch the boss but can’t skip but think it’s possible to skip

Every day is a final fantasy 7 school day.
Tricky to pull off in the IOS version, but I did it!
Does this mean, using this glitch, you could buy the house in Costa del Sol super early? Y'know, just for the LULZ. I'm not sure what that gets you because I never usually bothered to go back and buy it late-game. But if there are cool items in there, you'd get those early too.
Late game I think it's sold off to someone else.
I just remember last time I played I was on the grind for hours to have enough gil to buy it.

I think a video would be cool if it whould all the DUPs, skips and things that don't cause you to miss anything or break sequence.

Never knew about any glitches in 7 but I remember going into this battle with jenova once and she was facing other way, got back attack and hit her with meteorrain immediately...felt bad for her 😂
its kind of funny how glitchy FF7 is but its still considered 1 of the best final fantasy games to ever be created.

Only 38 days left until Rebirth. Now I wonder how this boat ride from Junon harbor is going to play out. Something tells me that they're going to continue to hype up Genova so I don't think you're going to be fighting Genova this early in the game.
