Supernova doing close to a trillion damage does seem more accurate at least.
"I'm sure somewhere somebody got unlucky and had this happen to them and just didnt know what happened" I picture some kid in the 90s getting wiped by this attack and then being confused. Its like how schoolyard rumors start. "If you take too long to kill sephiroth at the end he summons a meteor that does 7777 damage to everyone bro trust me"

Before having watched the vid I will say that this will work, given that the 7777 HP check is one of the final checks to happen during the damage calculations, and will overwrite whatever the damage is prior to that stage. The % based damage formula happens right at the start of the calculations, so it should be that any enemy that hits Lucky 7s will always deal 7777 regardless of the type of damage it is; even fixed based damage such as 1000 Needles would do 7777 (if you were to mod the Cactuer's HP).
Out of curiosity, what has priority between All Lucky 7s forcing damage to be 7777 and Peerless/flashback Sephiroth forcing damage to be 0?
This man is a blessing to the community! Been following you for so many years, I'm a very silent follower, but "small" things like this makes youros one of my all time favorite channels. The passion you put into this kind of technical stuff reminds me everytime why I love videogames so much!
It's hard to believe that Supernova and Heartless Angel would be effected by the lucky 7 egg but wow I feel for the kids who got wiped by this without knowing it

however the lucky7's damage working with heartless angel threw me for a loop lmfao
I'm pretty sure I've had a couple enemies wipe me out when I was younger with lucky 7s. I played a ton of ff7 when I was younger. Probably why I stack up on those hp plus materias due to unresolved trauma
Would a reflected spell originally cast by an enemy in Lucky 7s cause 7777? Just curious.

I’d like to see it on emerald weapon using aire tam stomp. Normally it does damage based on the number of materia equipped, capped out at 9999 damage. Would be interesting to see a fully decked out party using wizard bracelets and their 8 slot weapons as well as seeing the party without any materia equipped to see if lucky 7s will override that.

i think its obvious it will, 7777 is an override, the fact it makes gravity based attacks deal a flat 7777, ANYTHING in the game becomes 7777, potions become a 7777 heal. Ethers heal 7777mp. Multi hit attacks like angermax all do 7777.
now the question is. Does Peerless make 7777 hit 0 damage?

@@4-8Productions Sephiroth blows up the sun and destroys the entire solar system. Heroes are like, "yeah that's probably bad, but it's nothing compared to accidentally hitting a wild chocobo."

Though I don’t think the supernova is an illusion I think it is just that he destroys our solar system brings it to them and stops it before it kills them, y’know…So they can be given despair but not straight up die?

As amazing as wiping to supernova under the 7's is.. the heartless angel under 7's was more wild imo.
(Dont know if its too much kingdom hearts but i thought heartless angel brought mp to 0?)
In KH1 Heartless Angel puts you at 1 HP.
KH2 Heartless Angel drops HP to 1 and wipes out MP. Not sure if KH1 did the same with MP.

Fascinating question: The final fight of the game, the Cloud vs Sephiroth 1 on 1, is a staged battle. Sephiroth can't kill you -- he can only deal a percent of your life. What if you hack his HP to 7777? Can you lose the fight? How does the game handle that?
yup, you can lose the fight, you get a normal game over screen.

What about the Nibelheim flashback, can Sephiroth and young Cloud achieve lucky 7777s?
Sepiroth can't take damage during the flashback, so fairly certain he can't be affected by lucky 7s unless you use cheats/mods to set his HP.

With the next lowest value being 73k, there is a very small list of enemies this could affect: Ruby, Emerald, Safer, and Battle Square Proud Clod. Missing any??

What I wonder is... if it will affect Ultima Weapon during his chase since it has a 100k global health pool.
What about cat-sith’s limit break game over, does that kill a chocobo or a magic pot? Jw.
Game Over misses against Magic Pot as it has full immunity to physical and magical attacks until you give it an Elixir.
Game Over also can't kill chocobos (because the chocobo is programmed to go nuts and flee if its HP is reduced to 0) and if you use it in a battle with one, it'll kill all the other enemies and you'll capture the chocobo.

QUESTION! How much damage does it deal, when he starts the animation @ regular HP, and you change it to lucky 7 HP mid animation? That way we can see when the damage is actually rolled.
Damage is rolled instantly in FFVII, even your damage. As soon as you launch an attack the game already knows how much damage it is going to deal.

Hmm, I wonder about Pale Horse as according to the wiki in the JP version it does percent damage like Supernova in the NA/International version? I'm sure it'll still do 7's but with how screwy the code can be I'm kinda currious if lucky 7's would somehow cause it to revert to percentage damage like in the JP version instead of 7's?

Of course not. Sephiroth won't stay dead. He has a way back until all Jenova cells and S-cells are destroyed, including those inside Cloud.
I'm sorry to be off topic to this video but how far into the north cave can I go and still make it back to the open world
You can explore the crater up to the moment the group reunites which will give you a yes/no prompt to continue to the end.
You can still go to the highwind if you choose not to progress further so no worries about that.
And last but not least, don't try to use the save crystal item that is given you a the start of the crater or else you might get softlocked in the dungeon.

What would happen in the final showdown fight between Cloud and Sephiroth and he somehow had 7777? Would his attack actually kill Cloud? It appears that lucky 7 overrides the ruleset?
This is worth checking... My notion is that it would kill Cloud, but what would happen after that is uncertain (perhaps a Game over, perhaps not, there are quite a few strange battle flags being used in that fight only)

As I always understand this lucky 7, it applies after the dmg is calculated and replaces the value by 7777.
So I guess it should do the same for the gravity spell, the ??? ennemi talent or even with the « mini » status, right ? (It could be fun to see Mini Emerald Weapon dealing 7777 dmg, or on one of our character 😂)

Love the exploration into this game! I got a bug I encountered when a kid I wonder if you know about. I was fighting and beat safer Sephiroth and got to the last standoff, as my limit was filling up he attacked me, killed me, and I got a game over. It's been bothering me for like, 20 years.
Does He 7777 in the Memory fight ( Cloud vs sephiroth) when He geht's 7777hp modded in?
The speedrun strat for this fight wouldn't be hit by this, surely, right?
