As someone who bought the gen 1 almost as soon as they were available, thank you for offering upgrades to gen 1 customers. The Optimus, along with all my other Griffin cans has been great. Now they can be even better.
i want to buy this and use it on my extar ep 9 with a 1/2x28 threaded barrel. so i simply buy the 1/2x28 9mm taper mount, configure suppressor, and good to go?
This service will be available in the next few weeks on our website. The cost is expected to be ~125 dollars. We are planning on doing a sound comparison video in the near future.
@@GriffinArmamentOfficial Will the upgrade require mailing in our complete optimus? Or can we just send in a copy of our approved form 4 and the old baffles?
Great News for me. I have two Optimus Suppressors, and I'm glad you are dragging us along with this upgrade. That is great corporate policy. I will upgrade both ASAP, can you email me to let me know when they are available. I can put in a pre-order and pay if that will help. I assume every Optimus in stock at various websites is the original design, like my two. I use them mostly on 30 caliber rifles, but did use them on my 9mm. Is the new model with the new baffles going to show up as the Optimus 9? If you can tell us know, what will be the barrel and rate of fire limits? Looking forward to upgrading my Optimus to the latest technology. Good job. I've talked many buyers into focusing on Griffin. I have one Griffin still in jail, now going on 5+ months. It is a Griffin Armament Recce 5 Mod 4. To be used on a dedicated AR 556 Pistol set-up. I hope to hear some good news on that soon.
Literally just bought one in the past 2 weeks and I presume it is the Gen 1. I read the griffin website when making my decision and there was Zero clue that the one they were describing on their site (Gen 2) was not the one being offered for sale. Given the obscene wait time for a suppressors it would have been really nice customer service if Griffin would have been a lot more transparent. It is not about the money for anyone buying a nice suppressor. We are all willing to pay for quality. If your Gen 1 is out there for sale and you are coming out with a Gen 2 why not make it known? Clean out inventory to the bag holders is the only thing I can think of. I cant help but feeling duped and now i have to wait a year for an outdated product I and others would have gladly stood in line to purchase.
I want to add an update to be fair. I spoke with Griffin and they were surprised there was older inventory out there. They did what every quality company does and they made it right. My direct dealings with them gave me confidence that my original decision to build on their platform was correct. They are a quality company that gets it. Anyone buying a new Optimus simply needs to confirm the model BEFORE purchasing from a dealer and filling out paperwork. The dealer is the issue. Thank you Griffin.
Wish you guys would get your stuff in stock 😤 getting really frustrated not being able to buy thread adapters or muzzle devices and other accessories. I'm seriously considering switching brands since others have accessories in stock and better mounting options. Also while my optimus was in nfa jail you guys came out with the gen 2 version which kinda annoyed me that I have to pay for the camlock piston and the updated baffles. Also would be nice if we could purchase another long taper mount extention interface instead of the minimalist blast shield. A thread protector for the camlock pistol mounts would be nice instead of having to purchase the compensator I don't like compensators on pistols.
Basically your statement is saying that you want our current products to ALL be in stock as well as us come out with NEW PRODUCTS in the meantime. Which we are. We have products coming back in stock all the time, reflected by our social media posts, newsletters, and automated emails for products restocked on the website. If you're familiar with the way of the market right now (or how it's been the past year), things aren't staying on shelves for long. Everyone is pretty much in the same boat. Material isn't overly abundant, and we have a large catalog of products made from the same materials. Some products take priority in the production schedule over others, but we're working towards them. We're doing our best with what we've got.
@@GriffinArmamentOfficial I don't appreciate the flippant remarks.. I can understand the supply shortages (which frankly I find it hard to believe you're having problems finding stainless steel when your competitors have all their mounts in stock). I don't want excuses instead I'd like a helpful response. I have a $1100 suppressor I cannot put on several firearms because I can't get ONE taper mount direct thread adapter. I've been on the hunt for 5 months for this one item that I need to use the suppressor I waited so long to get! I'm also on the "back in stock" email list to no avail. My brick and mortar finally got a fixed barrel spacer but this doesn't help me with center fire rifle cartridges. Surely you can understand my irritation?! You sell suppressors, if customers cannot mount your product to their firearm you have a problem plain and simple.
@@troyelder56 Sorry for the inconvenience, we are producing more product as quickly as we're able. If you email our Customer Service team at CS@GriffinArmament.com they may be able to assist you in finding something that will work for the firearms you would like to use them on
I have to agree with the annoyance here. It’s now July. I have been on the “email me” list for the direct thread taper mount since November. That is asinine. Gotta pull it together. I have had zero problems getting everything I want for my silencerco and dead air cans. But can’t get direct thread adapter from you?!?
@@oscarmeyer7818 I'm glad I'm not the only one getting frustrated with the lack of direct thread adapters. I'm starting to believe it's purposeful, because you can buy 1-2 direct threads instead of 5-10 taper mounts. I know they're shipping DTM's with other suppressors too.
Sigh.. my Optimus just got approved by the ATF a few days ago after 340 days.. don't even have my stamp yet and now I need a $125 upgrade lol. I feel like I'm buying Apple products for my guns now.
You don't need it. Your optimus OG is still just as quiet as it was when you paid for it a year ago. Its just possible that now you you can pay a little more and get it even quieter.
Can't buy what? A suppressor? Yes they can (for the most part). So long as they don't live in one of the 8 commie states that don't allow suppressors people can buy all sorts of things.
Pistol QD piston adapter is neat, but the way I see it, it's just another way for Griffin to get more money and sell more mounts. I have already spent so much money on mounts and adapter for my Optimus, if I have to spend a QD mount for all my pistols now, I am gonna go broke.
In our country we still have this thing we call "Capitalism". We (the general public) want something and entrepreneurs use their expertise in manufacturing to provide that product or to solve a problem. The better their products and the more problems they can solve, or even if they create a feeling of enjoyment, then they can make more money. Those new QD systems are cool as hell but for sure you definitely are not required to buy them if you don't want it.
I realize that archaic laws may prevent this, but is it possible for the end user to retain gen 1 baffles after replacement with "eco-flow" baffles? 2 is one, one is none...
Just got the Resistance9, but Griffin needs another 30.00 for a metal sleeve, or 200.00 more if i want a QD for the CZ Scorpion. I will never buy from this company again. Your add-ons for multi-weapon price you out of the market
Dude walks into a Mercedes dealership and tells them that their maintenance and spare parts are just too expensive. When they question him about it he says that the Hyundai dealership up the road only charges half as much for the "same thing"...
I had to learn this lesson after buying the dead air wolfman. Apparently it’s a lesson every first time “modular” suppressor buyer has to learn. Buy a modular suppressor, you have to buy into a companies mounting system...
That just sucks. Just got my gen 1 Optimus out of jail three weeks ago. Bought it last December. That is what is wrong with the NFA government BS. What you buy is obsolete by the time you get it.
