That's Jay; our CNC brake operator in the old Bronco. He's a great driver and fabricator. If you look close at the front bumper he built for it, you may notice it looks a lot like 3 of our JL front bumpers grafted together seamlessly 😅
I want to go back to Colorado and run as many B.O.H. Trails as i can in my Jeep Cherokee XJ, I did Imogene pass back in either '2019 or 2020 ,getting old and losing my memory ,in my 2000 TJ with the 2.5L and a 5 speed Manual Transmission, with 4:11's front and rear!❤
For the record, locals say "the mesa" when they're referring to Grand Mesa and "the monument" when they go up the Colorado National Monument, which is what you went up.
That sucks to drive all the way out there and then break your hub on the first obstacle! Nice day, beautiful scenery and many friends! Happy Trails to you both!
My first time up Mount Blanca I broke my CV axle on the switchbacks long before the first obstacle, had to leave my rig at the bottom and ride with someone. The views up there are amazing though.
When I off road with my side by side I ALWAYS carry spare tie rod ends..cheap and they can leave you stranded...I even carry beefy ubolts with threaded rod that can act as a splint on a broken tie rod tube!!! Been there done that a few times!
Wow , you read my mind !! I can't believe .... So simple to have spare time rods & or any drive train "Front" parts & assembly . It's a 5cent ticket for going home a happy day , compared to all $ $ buying & investing in the ride .
I remember doing Black Bear Pass in my Powerwagon, making those 6 point turns, but gosh, this one is definitely steeper like you said and in my opinion much more beautiful! If I ever make it back to Colorado I'll probably try this one. I personally love the views with the threat of death! Haha!
Rock Junction is such a blast! Glade Park to Gateway is GORGEOUS! And they took you through the Colorado National Monument - spectacular!!! ... hahaha... so much for keeping that trail on the DL. 🤣😂
Kevin has to be the luckiest man on the planet! He has an awesome, gorgeous wife, that wheels with the best of em. Bad ass vehicles, bad ass home with a shop, with Chris working on his rigs! And he lives in one of the most beautiful places in earth! Especially for wheeling! You have the life man! You're the shit!
What do you guys do for a living? You have some incredible rigs and seem to take lots of epic journeys that have to cost thousands of dollars to do.. I'm doing something wrong. Love your videos......
Watching the different rigs one after another go up that first obstacle was pretty cool, you can clearly see the level of build status and how they handle it.
3 sec in Brittany 😂. That is so freaking beautiful and it looks like so much fun!! I'm sure Jelly would love to see your new friends at the end . Have a great day guys ❤️❤️💯🤙
Badass. Very cool build. The whole build is awesome. From the patriot liner, to the dual psc pumps, the motor, the fabrication and time went into this thing. Absolutely amazing build. I've been watching this channel for years. Hopefully I'll be attending a couple events with you guys after my 1 ton install.
You should get replacement water spouts for those rotopax fuel cans. Outside of the USA, they are sold for fuel & water. The “safety spouts” for the rotopax actually make things less safe and are very slow. It’ll be a good upgrade. I just bought mine from Amazon and recently topped off my fuel tank - what a difference!
How friggin beautiful is That! What scenery, and what a real bunch of rigs! A Liberty and an old Bronco - love ‘em. Nice drivin Kev. I keep a bag of tie rod ends and u-joints for when I’m off road (learned that from you guys). Thanks for another fun video. LiteBriteNationWindsDown!
A video focused on jeeping. I remember why I started watching lite brite. Need more of these without anything being shoved at us. God I’m turning into a cranky old man
Howdy, friends. It's The Old Goat and Karl again. Been a minute, hasn't it? Glad to see a cousin Liberty making the obstacle look easy! Now I've tried to make him behave, but you guys remember how The Old Goat is so he asserts He could do that obstacle just as well and being svelt and skinny (unlike Karl -- sez Old Goat) Shades of Chinaman's Gulch! Me and The Old Goat surely do miss you. Hope to wheel together again someday.
Man I wanted to be there that weekend but had prior engagements. The guy on your left where the white Jeep broke something on the left side of the axle is the brother of a guy i went to school with. One day I will get to meet you two and wheel with you! Thanks for taking us along!
I missed you guys when you were here! National monument not mesa but thats what hunters call sheep creek road. Usually take our full size trucks or wheelers in there for elk! The prerunner course is at the bottom close to where you parked!!
Love this! Would love to see the views in-person myself, but not sure I can say I'm completely ready - I haven't done anything CLOSE to that technical yet, though I have a Badlands (I know you guys hated on it, but not all of us can afford a Raptor).
You need to buy the Fuel shaker hose. You put the hose in the fuel container shake it a couple times and is siphons the out of the container and in to the gas tank.
Sunrider's are so great. First thing I installed in my Mojito JLUR. I have a sky one touch in my 392 now and it's just as awesome, but if I had the 3 piece hardtop it would have a sunrider for sure. Great looking trail, we will have to check it out.
As for your gas nozzle, take a valve stem, remove the valve core, drill a hole, insert valve stem. When you empty the can, remove the valve cover. It will vent and make the gas flow faster
You can add a small o ring to the cap if your worried about leaks. Or, keep the valve core in and remove it when you need to empty. I have never had an issue tho
So I was thinking you were going to have used most of your fuel ten seconds later there you are topping up and talking about a nine plus hour trip. what a great trail love to take my Enduro bike along it. just got back into bike riding having blown my Samariu engine and no budget to replace or repair due to vet bills.
Pretty incredible trail, indeed. Coming off the mesa with those tight switchbacks on loose rock and dirt is a challenge for all of us. One thing about this "turn assist" feature. It's very effective, but we must be mindful of the trail damage this can cause. On bare rock, no problem. On most steep switchbacks other than bare rock, not so good. 19:35 is a good example of the downside to this "drag you wheel" feature.
I (overlander/touring/lame trails compare to you guys) even carry a spare tie rod end (outer only) for my Land Rover LR4. Luckily its the same left and right so I just bring one with a new ball joint an everything.
I was on my way to Gunnison, CO the other day and heard a weird noise that grew progressively louder as I drove. After 70 miles I heard a loud clunk and then it sounded like someone threw a socket set into a clothes dryer. Cost me $900 for a tow truck back to town. The shop told me the bolts on the ring gear backed out in the differential. At least now I know if I hear that to stop, d/c the driveshaft and make my way to a shop in 4wd to save a few thousand $.
I found that switchback by accident on the Gateway side a few years ago when it was way worse. Awesome! I poked around a little at the top trying to find a route to gateway. I now have ONX but still green at using it. Is that MOUNTAIN ISLAND RANCH PROPERTIES LLC route passable to the general public? Thanks guys ! Shawn from Moab Utah
Once again, awesome vid!! You guys make some amazing and really well put together vids with lots of helpful info. I had no idea that the Taser has turn assist capabilities. I have a 22 JT with a taser mini and I can for sure use that feature. I looked at vids showing how to activate it but can’t find any, just a bunch of people using it. Can you walk me through how to work this function? Thanks again guys 🍻
Are you able to post the track. I’ve searched OnX and find nothing. Will be in GJ in September, looking to hit a few local trails as well as Moab and San Juans. Cheers!
They have the faster flowing jugs…you just have to find one that was made before the government got involved… there is a company that makes the old style Jerry cans with the original spouts for around $50 (look up ww2 reenactment)
Colorado definitely amazing views!! I started carrying spare tie rod ends last year. Bent one really bad once and was lucky enough to get it back off the trail.
@@LiteBrite I have a JL on 40s and one ton axles and I can't get it to work. The brakes that came on my axles just don't seem to be strong enough to lock up my wheels. I can hear it trying but nothing happening.
That was awesome the stock 1970s Ford Bronco goes right up on 33
I love how the old bronco just rolled up that first obstacle easier than all the other rigs.
That's Jay; our CNC brake operator in the old Bronco. He's a great driver and fabricator. If you look close at the front bumper he built for it, you may notice it looks a lot like 3 of our JL front bumpers grafted together seamlessly 😅

that old beast at 8:55 did the best on that obstacle
For the record, locals say "the mesa" when they're referring to Grand Mesa and "the monument" when they go up the Colorado National Monument, which is what you went up.
That old Ford Bronco smoked the Jeeps on that obstacle. 😂
💪
I'm bummed we missed you guys! I have lived in Junction my whole life. The monument is beautiful. I didn't even realize how many trails were up there.
That certainly was a surprise having those gorgeous views. We enjoyed the day with you and so many other nice new friends.
After watching your video of the Bestop sunrider for the bronco. I got one for my wife’s jeep. Love that thing. Wish I knew about it sooner.
When I off road with my side by side I ALWAYS carry spare tie rod ends..cheap and they can leave you stranded...I even carry beefy ubolts with threaded rod that can act as a splint on a broken tie rod tube!!! Been there done that a few times!

Long wheelbase seemed to be the ticket. Even mild gladiator builds did well.

Broke my tie rod end on the trail last year. Been traveling with spare ones ever since
The cows verbal protest of certain drivers meeting rules made my day. Good times wheeling with yall.

Gladiator eating that obstacle alive while the Wranglers break parts and struggle. Wheelbase FTW!

This group started on the National Monument, not the Mesa which is to the east of Grand Jct the National Monument is to the west of Grand Jct
Spare tie rod ends are ideal in the rocks. But a Hi-lift Jack can be used in a pinch (depending on length may need 2 hi-lifts)
Love the new hair style, great drive
The holes just get deeper and deeper !!!
@Brittany I have pet wild horses where I wheel/camp up here in Alberta Canada 😜lol. great trail wheeling guys!
I love going up to the grand mesa such a beautiful place but if you ever have time you have to go check out meadow lake.
Thanks for the video

Nice. I need to get back to Moab
I went to tractor supply and bought a new spout then I took and drilled a hole on opposite sides of spout on top it opens flow 100% better
Looked like a good time. Do you guys ever get any updates from the foster child. I loved watching that build
He still owns it & has an IG account for it! @fosterchild_jt
Man that trail turning assist locking up the back tire looks like my dog doing the old bum drag on the carpet 😂😂
Amazon sells the old school nozzles for the plastic fuel cans and roto packs.

the freedom tops will fit behind your front seats i have to put mine there because my on board air and tools
