    Fun fact: the reason hypothermia victims take clothing off, is because of the sensation extreme cold causes to the body, when cells begin to freeze, it'll make you feel like you're burning, even though it's the opposite.

      I hate that I'm um actually-ing you but it happens cause the body usually keeps the warmer blood for the inner core of the body to keep the temp of important internal organs right. Once it gets too cold the body will give up release this warmer blood to the extremities as well, which inturn makes the person feel super hot and take their clothes off

    • @real_surreal_sir
      @real_surreal_sir 2 месяца назад +41

      @blep6173 fun sub-fact about that: the reason fevers cause both simultaneously has mainly to do with the fever process pulling blood flow more to the core while the body raises its core temperature... hence you feel really hot (cause you literally just are) but as a side effect the outer skin and extremities suddenly experience a relative drop in temperature (right where nerves are most concentrated actually) and so it can simultaneously trigger a "cold" response and so your brain literally can easily interpret being too hot and too cold simultaneously.
      Even if cold and heat are opposites, the body doesn't always interpret them that way hence fevers and paradoxical freezing

    I have heard of this, and I saw a detailed video of the incident. I forget what YT channel it was, but they came to the most plausible scenario, basically when you camp on a mountain covered in snow mountaineers dig out the side to make flat area for camp, leaving a wall on the mountain side, it serves a couple purposes firstly shelter and secondly it can alert if an avalanche is probable. So, the theory is the group made camp and, in the night while they slept, the "snow wall" collapsed onto the tent causing severe injuries amongst the group. It is believed that they were expecting an avalanche, so they fled with little clothing and no supplies. In the aftermath they tried to survive, but unfortunately, they did not. The radiation on the clothing can be explained also, so two years before this incident there was a nuclear disaster know as the Kyshtym disaster, which did contaminate the area.

Apparently, the beings come from a realm of radiation, and most of the intelligence agencies around the world actually derive much of their knowledge, and thus power, from a "demonic" [horns] race of beings seen under the effects of DMT called the "clockwork elves," or in World of Warcraft, the Blood Elves, who are actually addicted to BLOOD -- not merely magic. The two tried to make it back to the tent, but died trying
    Those by the river were likely given the merciful ending, instead of the miserable, slow, and painful ending of frostbite
    The last four likely survived for weeks, but didn't have the necessary food to survive and tried to get out or tried to escape a cave-in, but received too many injuries and died outside the entrance

      @certifiedhero7 I don't remember seeing that in the original report(not the video, the documentation of the case). It was 5 years ago for a college report, but I may just be forgetting things. Ski poles aren't really a major thing to note in a college report.
      As for how, Slab Avalanches can be as small as a few feet of snow traveling only a dozen yards. Heavy enough to crush a tent, but not going far enough to knock the poles over
      Alternatively, the ski poles could've been used by the survivors with the winter boots(as noted in the video, it would indicate they were ourside). They could've relatively easily moved away from the slab, and left them behind while they were running
      If the poles were left in an area where the avalanche hit, I can't provide a solid answer for that

    I think its a mix of 2 of the theories. Nuclear bomb (probably an air detonation) testing that caused an avalanche. Just because of the radiation, obviously, but also the fact that these guys were trained and experienced and would know how to react if it was just an avalanche. They probably got dazed by the shock/heat wave, and all of a sudden, an avalanche was happening around them, so they had to scramble out of the tent. Then i think once they got into the woods and away from the camp. The others were attacked by a bear or some other large animal that was also probably freaking out from the bomb and has the power to cause those injuries.
    Theres obviously some holes in that theory but its the best i can think of.

      Likely not a nuclear blast (one of them worked in a nuclear lab if I remember so that’s where the radiation comes from), but a nuclear capable missile test launch. I forget which missile it was, maybe R-7, but there was a missile that either just entered service by the time of this incident or was still in pre-adoption testing. The hikers had internal damage akin to overpressure damage which could’ve been caused by missile impacting nearby and its excess fuel detonating. Earlier in the trip they had taken photos of what appeared to be one such missile test launch, likely being launched into Siberia to ensure it doesn’t hit any other country, launched from a missile test facility near Georgia (I’m on mobile so finding the info is difficult, I’m just taking what I remember). Dyatlov Pass would be a plausible path for the missile, but perhaps it failed mid flight and instead of going to its target destination, crashed short, hence all the excess fuel exploding (R-7 had significantly longer range than Dyatlov Pass so the final target was likely further). With the Red Army arriving so soon, perhaps they were already on the way searching for a downed missile. Their injuries were, if the theory is to be believed, caused solely by the explosion and then natural decomposition. It would be unlikely an animal did this to them only to leave their bodies behind and not eat them. Perhaps the reason why there was no official conclusion by the Soviet government is because it would have to admit that it accidentally killed some of its own high achieving students with a faulty missile.

    I read a book about this a couple of years ago and the author's working theory was a microburst of wind came rolling down the mountain. The roaring sound made them think it was an avalanche, so they took off thinking they had to get under the ledge above the stream. In their panic, they fell down the side of the mountain and when they climbed the tree to find camp, What's his name fell out of the tree. The members who were injured the worst started dropping like flies until the last of them froze to death. The radioactivity bit was less evidence based, but it was believed the Soviets had done nuclear testing in the area because it was so remote and the fallout got on them, but that was just the author speculating, admittedly. But he went step by step through all the locations and the injuries, even noting that yes, the tent was partially buried in snow, but not enough for an avalanche. And having been in a microburst first hand almost 30 years ago when Hurricane Opal hit my town, (Tom Brokaw did his broadcast in front of the Russell Athletics store I worked at, and there was a sailboat washed up in the parking lot) a microburst came right over my house and knocked 9 big pine trees over directly on top of my neighbor's house. We didn't even lose a shingle. It sounded like a train roaring through my back yard.

    Based on everything I’ve learned about this case over the years, I honestly believe the Dyatlov Pass incident was the result of a military test, possibly a distant bomb detonation.
    The hikers were in an area literally known as “Russia’s Area 51”, and their route likely required government approval not because it’s a dangerous hike, but likely due to the danger of stumbling upon a bombing range. A bomb test could’ve scattered radioactive fallout over the group and triggered an avalanche, which explains both the radiation found on their clothes and the missing body parts, and concussive blasts could’ve caused the internal trauma. The sudden heat from the blast might also explain why some were undressed, either from hypothermia or a rapid temperature increase.
    The discovery that they took a photo of a massive white orb in the night could point directly to this distant bomb test as well as the singed treetops reported by that one guy.
    All that being said, the main flaw in my little theory here is that the search parties who arrived weeks later didn’t report any radiation exposure or major blast damage, which leaves some questions unanswered.
    This has been my running theory just because the more theories you blend together, the less it makes sense. A distant bomb blast and the USSR covering it up during the Cold War is the one thing that explains mostly everything I know about the case. Especially the… r a d i a t i o n.

    I have a theory. What if Russia did nuclear testing near the area. This would explain the radiation. The injuries could have came as a result of them trying to put themselves out of their misery.

    39:28 my dad told me a story that the orb like lights can be lighting. he said when my grandma was young she had her window open and it was a storm outside. a ball of light just entered through the window and left. i don't know how real this is, but i couldn't help thinking about this.
    edit: lighting can occur with rapid change of air, and this could go hand in hand with the cold wind rapidly coming down from the pervious theory. which leads me to believe the pics are lightning

    I think it was an air burst nuclear bomb on the other side of the mountain. It could have caused wind, which explains all the snow on the tent. there's the bright and thing that looks like a mushroom. Now, what is it that nukes do? Oh yeah, spread radiation. Then then there's the top of the trees being burnt. The burns could also be explained with this, and the noise made by the explosion could have scared the camper to run towards the forest

      This seems somewhat unlikely, as atmospheric surveillance are able to pick up traces of nukes in the air by the radiation, so if this were to happen, we would know by now. Also, the trip was authorised by the government who wouldn't have allowed them to continue with the hike when they were actively testing nuclear weapons

    I had to look it up to see, but apparently, Russia did not conduct any nuclear tests in 1959. I figured that may explain the radiation but nope. I have watched a few videos about this and I'm still not decided which boat I'm on.

    • @ericaallisonc
      @ericaallisonc 2 месяца назад

      There are multiple plausible explanations about the radiation. All are mundane.
      1. Prier nuclear testing
      2. The lamps they used
      3. The man tested had worked with radiated materials.
      Honestly the radiation bit is the least interesting, seeing as we used radium in household goods back in the day.

    • @Shwadeybabe
      @Shwadeybabe 2 месяца назад

      @ericaallisonc I understand nuclear testing is not the only explanation for exposure. I was simply pointing out my curiosity based on the radiation levels. I figured it may have been due to nearby nuclear testing that was more recent than a year prior. I don't believe a watch would cause those levels of exposure.

    I have a feeling the the students were attacked by a brown bear. They are often found in cold, mountainous Russia. The impacts to the chest on the two of the students and the head injuries could be from a blow from the paw of the bear, and it would make sense they had accidentally placed their camp in said bear’s territory.
    Whilst brown bears are usually in hibernation around the time of the deaths of the students, there is a chance that the bear’s cub wandered out and the mother went after it. The animal could have felt threatened by the strangers in it’s territory, making it lash out and attack the hikers.
    As for radiation, it could have simply been already on the hikers. Their tents/clothes/supplies could have been cleaned by a certain product that mixed together, causing radiation. Whilst that idea is rather far fetched, there is still a chance.
    It also could have been the Russian Government testing nuclear weapons up there before the hikers went up and so the ground was still slightly radioactive and unsafe, but as it was testing and during 1959 (and possibly before with WW2 ending only 14 years earlier), they may not have realised how active and dangerous this nuclear weapon was.

    • @RoMaRobMarq

Then an avalanche caused by the explosion actually takes everyone out? The weird angel shapes could be parachutes with flares as to buy time and burn the parachutes/evidence.
