I also speak Russian and would never accuse a reporter to translate wrong for political reasons. my profession is interpreter and yes interpretation from translation is different, you really cant relay every single word from one party to another during an actual live conversation, and like Mila said, yes, its an interpretation not a translation, people tend to go off topic several times during a single sentence and its nearly impossible to relay that without confusing the other party, since they are confused themselves to gather a clean thought for us to relay for them LOL. But yeah some experienced interpreters obviously do a better job than the newer ones.
To clarify her point… the spoken word is interpreted while translation specifically refers to the written word. And the interpreter performs a kind of artful expression in the other language. YW
as a multilingual living in a multilingual society, translations are okay most times but jokes and local references don't translate well at all, even when speaking the same language because then you'd have to know the local dialect of that langauge.
I’ve heard this same thing in many different language contexts where the interpreter is just saying apparently whatever sounds good to them. It’s a like a game of rapid fire telephone.
Oh my gosh I wonder she's so beautiful. People in Russia in Romania or just absolutely gorgeous look at Nadia Comaneci. European features are so beautiful but then again so are the French. I love Myla Kunis she is so down-to-earth and so real and that's why her and Ashton are together
Mila Kunis family nationality is Ukraine. I expect her to know Russian because her last name is Kunis. (Language doesn't always work that way.) Not being bilingual, from a multinational family, is more of the surprise and disappointment.
False Advertising. Beautiful girl. though. And for the record... I thought Mila was Ukrainian. They speak a different language, although I understand it is pretty close. Similar to Spanish / Portuguese.

When the Russian speaking kids got off the bus I explained to them, in Russian, that that kind of behavior is not tolerated on the bus. The look on their face was absolutely priceless.
The translation comment is spot on. I've done the job (spanish) and very few people do it right. Translators on boxing matches and live events often make mistakes or oversimplify due to not being fast enough, but what really pisses me off is bad translations in movies. They have the time, it's just laziness. To be fair, puns, idioms, or metaphors are hard to translate.

no wonder. because she's russian. since all ukranians are russians. except for the 5% who are polish because two regions in ukraine are former Poland regions. it's the same thing as why the newyorkers speak the same language that is spoken in Texas. and would speak even if one of these states one day separates from the others.
