    I upgraded from the 670G to the 770 G6 weeks ago and I have been getting very good performance other than a few sensors that failed early. I have been putting them in my upper arm rather than my abdomen in order to have better rotation with my infusion site. I definitely feel the 770 G is worth the upgrade since it appears to be a much more stable platform. Any type one diabetic who has not experienced the technology of having a closed feedback loop system does not know what he or she is missing!

      Brian as regards sensor placement on the upper arm, I'm having trouble picturing that. Is that a one man job or do you need someone with another hand to help?
      I use my legs which has been great but I cant picture how to place and then secure to oneself with only 2 hands.

    in Canada I received my 770g pump in Dec 2022 the pump is functioning good with a lot of help. the main problem is that the app to hook up the Iphone is very sporadic it keeps dropping the app. not to handy to try and send carelink info to your diabetic care person .Hope that Medtronic will update this soon .been with Medtronic over 15 years they have been excellent. Hoping for 780 g soft ware update soon thick that is a game changer.

    Great info. The warm up flakiness of the 670G transmitter drives me nuts. Love the 670 but the sensor is the weak link. I'm reading that the 770 is essentially the 780 using a software update when the 780 is released in the USA in the spring 2022. Other good news is that the infusion sets are being redone to last 7 days. Entirely new sensor supposed to come with the 780 release.

    • @DiabeticsDoingThings
      @DiabeticsDoingThings  2 года назад +1

      The transmitter on the 770 is much improved, and you’re right about the 780 upgrade being available eventually for the 770. I have used the sensor for nearly 5 years now and it’s not perfect, but no sensor is. It’s dramatically improved since the early 670 days

    I am in the pathway program to get mine, hopefully soon. Have had T1D for 15 years, and been a Medtronic pumper for 7 years. Always good to meet a fellow pumper!
    I have 2 questions for you!
    1) I am glad you said the 670g sensors work with the new transmitter... Can you tell us if you can also still use the 670g resavoires and quicksets on the 770g? Assuming yes, because build looks the same... but want to confirm cuz I got some saved (t1d squirrel) and want to make sure I can still use them. 🙃
    2) Can you tell me if your time in range has improved with the new algorithm?
    So excited about the pump and the phone app! Been waiting for this for so long and excited little kids and teens can use it with family members. This will definitely be nice to share with the hubby. We all have to have our tribe! So important with this disease.
    P.s. I don't care what creamer you use. Lol. #JustBeHappy

    Hi Rob recently subscribed great content your putting out. I wonder if you could maybe put a video together on the pros and cons of pump therapy 🤔 I am currently on multiple injections per day and considering getting a pump however in all honesty I am concerned about ports being knocked or getting tangled in lines at night while sleeping or during husband and wife time 😉. One reason I am interested in pump therapy is the fact I try to stay ( try) fairly active and have highs and lows during high intensity exercise then generally over treat. Has a pump helped with the control of your sugar levels during times of insulin sensitivity and excersize?
    I know it's a bit of a long message but hope to see more content. Thanks.

    I just transferred from the 670g pump to the new 770g pump, and I am currently in the NON AUTO mode so the new pump learn about my body. What is really concerning to me is on the four time intervals that I use for the delivery of basil rates, I have had to cut back 3/10th of a until on the basal delivery got every time interval. With the old pump my overnight BG were right around 120, but for the couple of night I was in the 50’ and after cutting back my BG’s are in the 70’s, so this is not making local sense to me. I would think I would not have to change anything, but it great I’m using less insulin per day because of this, but I would thought there would be no change and really nervous about those overnight BG’s.

    Hey Rob, I am in the process of switching from the 670 G to the 770G now. After watching your video I was wondering if for instance you get an alert or alarm on your pump, can you control the alarm with the phone app or do you still have use the pump to acknowledge the alert? Because THIS is what I am waiting for, lol. Once I am able to do this, it will be a huge game changer for me 😊 Still awesome that we can see the numbers on our phones now too though!

  • @melissawright4636

    I started using the 770G yesterday and it won't let me in auto mode until the warm up is complete. Does it always take 48 hours or just the very first time? My 670G was only in warm up for 2 hours each time I changed my sensor.

    • @DiabeticsDoingThings
      @DiabeticsDoingThings  3 года назад +2

      Sorry I missed this - the FIRST time you use the pump, it takes "3 midnights" of sensor time before it will let you into automode so the algorithm has time to learn your patterns before it launches.

Does it really have issue with cone connectivity, how upload to care link (her doctor looks at this). Obviously be blue toothstep away from your phone, it’s going to loss connectivity. Hi Becky, I don't use a smart watch but I hear you can set notifications from the Minimed Mobile app to mirror on an apple watch. Not sure how to do it, but I would look up "mirror app notifications on applewatch"

    You mentioned you were on the 670g for almost three years. How did you get a 770 without waiting 4 years?

      Most medtronic customers will receive the newest pump when they are released as an “upgrade”

    Do you have to pay for a new guardian 3 transmitter for the 770G?

      There is a new transmitter but it was included in the price for the overall pump. In order for the 770g to connect to your phone, you will need the new transmitter. Not sure if that answers your question.

    Did you have the 670g? How was the process of getting approval?

      I did - my warranty was up so approval process was pretty easy. The setup for the 770g was super easy because it was exactly the same as 670g so I was familiar with the system

    I got my 770G for free although I wanted to pay for it.
