It was an honest mistake. He accidentally selected A.M. instead of P.M. on the YT release schedule. He feels terrible and depressed. He's been a strong YT Z06 supporter and just made an unintentional mistake, cut him some slack.

I like Rick's MSRP guess for the ZR1 better than mine. I would love it to start around $150k. My guess is clser to $185k, and could touch $225k without too much effort.
Starting price will begin at 220k easily. with a limited run, dealer mark ups I cannot imagine the ZR-1 at 149k or even close to that. Nobody buys a 1LT Z06, most of the C8 Z06 have been convertables and 3LTs, starting price 159, with Carbon Fiber and trim or Z07 190k. I don't think the ZR-1 will have different trim package levels. but that is just my opinion.
Chevy already said they will not limit the ZR1 production. Market will dictate. Historically Chevy does not price gouge their performance lines...The dealers are the ones that mark it up to ridiculous prices.
Starting price $172,250 with that horsepower, options for many could add $45,000 and a dealer mark up of up to $50,000 and you're pushing the 300k mark.
Wow, ZR1 is beyond awesome. All talk to this point was 800+ HP and Zora at 1,000 HP. Where will the Zora be now? Both those cars are definitely for the track. Unless I missed it I did not see any 0 to 60 or quarter mile times. The Z06 has trouble putting the power down instantly and the ZR1 will be even more so. So on the street the Eray will be just as fast/faster to both these to these measurements which is maybe part of the reason for the limited sales numbers for Erays to date. The Eray is definitely the king of “streetable” performance corvettes. By the way I think you are correct on your pricing guess. It will be close to that.

All of the high wings for Z06 are spoken for on the first cycle. While I was putting in my order another guy came in and put in a deposit for the ZR1 so there is going to be some good demand for it.

I think an additional $50,000 above the Z06 sounds about right to me putting it around $160,000. Sadly the greedy dealerships will have a feeding frenzy over the ZR1 expect many $$$$$$ above MSRP especially if GM is unable to meet demand the first couple years. Also, good luck finding a dealership with a competent and trained mechanic to work on these. They provided spec's on the new engine no details on upgrading the transmission to handle the additional torque

Since the Z06 is about 50% more than the entry level C8, 165K to 170K + destination + 80k to 85K for options = up to 260K "list price".
