    Level up your drawings! FREE mini-class for Beginners: members.kirstypartridge.com/r...
    Learn how to draw faces step by step for beginners with this easy face drawing tutorial using basic face proportions. I go through how to draw faces for beginners from scratch using simple construction lines to help place the facial features. I also go through how I ink a sketch once I have finished drawing a face. Finally I go through how to shade a face to make your face drawing a bit more realistic and 3D. This face drawing is more stylised, however these face proportions also apply to realistic drawings. Therefore this face drawing tutorial can be applied to any drawing, no matter what your drawing style is.

      Kirsty Partridge Art i was so excited to see this. I primarily prefer reference-free invention. Can you do more like this? Especially with hair? Hair is the weirdest for me and I don’t feel like the references help enough.

    The most important things in selftought drawing is to learn shading and not beeing afraid to make a mistake. It's amazing when you can express your mind on paper. The most annoying thing in selftought drawing is that people will see it as a talent. They don't see the hard work and frustrations you've gone trough, they just say it's talent.

    • @mikibishop1516
      @mikibishop1516 2 года назад +1

      there's nothing wrong with being talented and having people say so imo.

    Thank you so much for this video! Your teaching method is super great and encouraging! I am CONSTANTLY having issues with faces and I am CONSTANTLY having people ask me to paint faces on small figurines with no established features, like angels. I have tried other methods that seem to have 800 measurements/angles for the head to establish proportion properly, and your gentle technique seems easiest for me!

    Thank you, SO much for not only taking the time to do this, but in the extremely step-by-step camera work. Best I've seen. I'm extremely new to sketching and drawing, but have always wanted to try it. I have bought good quality pencils, some decent paper, erasers, etc. However, I also have printer paper and normal HB pencils - I love that you almost encourage that. I cannot wait to get onto the inking on stage.

    Came across your tutorials the other day. I have to say, amazing and brilliant work. You definitely make it look easy, but you do explain things well. I have started to draw in 2016, but mainly have done sketches only and really have not done much in terms of guidelines nor shading. But I am getting to the point of wanting to make more realistic looking drawings. Keep up the great work!

    Thank you for this! I have drawn most of my life and really I have just been "winging it". If it works, it works ... but now I am frustrated how I am unable to recreate proportion and movement (in the body and length). Now, whenever I see artists, they seem to start out with a rough "guide". This was fantastic, and humbling to watch - as i see there is still much I need to learn. I jumped ahead at some point and missed the basics... So embarrassing. This is y I am a "amateur artist" ^_~ lol

    oh my god - this is SOOOOO what I've needed! Thank you thank you thank you. I'm hoping hoping you have more of these - I am SO bored drawing from pictures, I want to be able to create things from my imagination but that's so hard when you don't yet have the drawing skills.... but how do you get the skills without having to draw things you don't like? Oy. This is perfect. I just tagged you in my instagram post of my drawing I made from this, which I'm pretty sure is better than any face I've ever drawn from a photo. Am now going to look through every single one of your videos and courses in the hopes of finding more of these for drawing figures and faces at different angles. Thanks again!!
