Exactly. That's also what's holding me back.
You can use without the subscription but also the insight that it brings is very helpful. $5/month is a no brainer
You only get access to like three stats... If I'm not mistaken, it's some random ass numbers / scores where you need to pay for the basis of calculation. What would you say if Apple made the Apple Watch a subscription based product?@@moshnroll507

Exactly. I’m not against subscriptions for services, like I do pay for iCloud and Hulu, but I’m against subscriptions to use hardware such as this or BMW’s heated seats

I also suffer from severe insomnia so would like to use the ring to monitor my sleep
I'm finding it difficult to sleep with a smart watch, and this ring would definitely help in tracking my sleep. Also my smart watch is 4 years old, meaning you are forced to buy a newer version as the old one doesn't get any updates anymore

I would use smart rings for the same purposes as well... been using my Galaxy Watch to keep track but especially for sleep, the watch is a bit bulky... with adhd, its often really hard to fall asleep...
However, i am not sure if oura is the go... main drawback i think is the subscription fee... i wish u had explain the cons of oura and said sonething abiut subscription fee... have u not considered other smart rings (like ringconn) that dont have subscription fees? Why do u still use oura?
I have a habit of taking my smart watch off, so I plan to change that by using the Oura ring and getting my fitness journey back on track.
I have been strongly considering an Oura Ring for awhile. I like tracking my fitness but definitely tracking my sleep. I don't think I have true insomnia but I struggle sleeping. I don't love wearing a smart watch, I'd rather wear a real watch. I think you have completely convinced me to get an Oura ring! Thank you!
Yeah, me too. But the subscription model turned me off. Now I wear my Hamilton on left wrist and Fitbit Charge on right, display turned to inside of the wrist. Rocking this setup for like a year and couldn't be happier.
The health part for liking working would be a huge plus for me to track my workouts since I'm on a gym workout routine to better myself. Since having a health scare a couple years ago. Working out has been great, having a gadget track stuff will be super helpful.
The sleep tracking on this Oura Ring seems great, will definitely help me track my sleep! Great video Jon!
Thought about this as a wedding ring once. But opted out because tech always changes so I don’t want to have to buy a new one all the time. I’d rather get a super nice “real” one that will never lose its value really.
I'll never support Oura as long as they keep my data behind a paywall but for those that don't mind that I recently noticed that it qualifies for FSA benefits. So that might be a nice additional perk for those that are going to buy it.
I’ve been jumping around from different health watches, this particular ring I’ve been very intrigued by, but I’ve yet try it. I would love to give it a try in hopes it will help me lean more insights into my different health metrics. Sleep, heart rate, and several other aspects. That’s what I would like to get one of these rings.

Always been intrigued by this ring. Subscription model makes sense because you want a company that’s going to keep improving or at the very least guaranteeing some level of reliability over time.
For me I think the extra data point for overall health trackers is really important. Very intrigued
Cool but... you own a Apple Wartch allready. Especially with thirth party apps it does everything (as far I know). I love the fact that's all in a ring but since I also own a Watch Ultra I don't see the need.
I can’t wear a watch to bed. It catches on my pillow and wakes me up.

I actually love the tech behind oura ring. I really wanted to get it from a long time. But paying for a subscription after paying a whole lot for the device itself has stopped me going to it.
I would love to fee myself from from time. I feel like it has controlled me. But most important keep me accountable to exercising for life.
Nice video Jon, if I had one of those Oura Rings, it would be neat to try to do sleep tracking. Nice thing about the Oura Ring is no screen to damage!

insomnia is sh*tt.. i poke a lot of fun about my insomnia (heck, faithless "insomnia" is my ringtone on my phone) - but it realy realy sucks and maks it realy hard to work on a normal schedule. feel you man!

Improve sleep and track sleep data
I am a director of a preschool. We have a new policy that admin are not allowed to wear smart watches now. This is making it difficult for me to track my health. Ever since getting sick with vid, I I have to keep a watch on my heart rate and my breathing. I’m sad to not be able to track this now. I have been thinking about getting a ring to replace my Apple Watch. This give away would help me save money as we are saving up to move our family of 6 and it’s almost Christmas time.

I started hearing about the Oura ring earlier this year! I think I would predominantly use it for sleep and cycle tracking!
