It looks to be a very charming place, the market square with the lovely old buildings being a hightlight. Excellent walking tour 👍👍👍

Barnyz, agree that the market square is by far the best part. Thanks for watching.

I was stationed at alconbury for eight years back in the 70s and 80s, my wife is from Huntington/Hartford, we went shopping in the town center on Saturdays, the Iceland used to be the co-op if I remember right. back in the 80s there were a few VHS, rental shops in Huntingdon and we would go there often to rent movies, and go downtown to pay the electric and gas bills.

😅the statue of the thinking man was created by Kathleen Bruce the wife of Robert Falcon Scott and the museum is the old grammar school. Very happy memories of Huntingdon . We lived at RAF Wyton.

I loved this little town. I drove through it every day on my way to RAF ALCONBURY. I was stationed there in the Air Force. I lived in the next town over St Ives. I lived on Hill Rise.

Thank you for the video. Huntingdon is on our itinerary when we are in England from Texas in September
Anyone have a recommendation for lunch while there?

Hi, thanks for watching. Unfortunately, I didn't try any local cafes or restaurants. I would try TripAdvisor for reviews.

The Old Bridge Inn as seen at the beginning is good, but expensive. I prefer Brampton Mill (in lovely setting on the river) for food every bit as good; it's about a ten minute drive from the town centre. There's also the Black Bull at Brampton. There are many eateries in the town itself for cheaper fare.

There's a lot of things to like about the town (I live off the market square), although the high street isn't without its problems. But there are beautiful historic buildings and the immediate countryside and walks around the river Great Ouse are beautiful in every season.
