After weeks and 100 videos of trying to figure this out online, I found this incredible video! This guy is great, very explanatory, calm and to the point. I will definitely use his instructive videos for anything I have in the future. Thank You So Much!
+Mike Cassidy Thanks for watching! We do not carry that tool, but I did a quick search online and found a couple in the 80 dollar range. Search using key words "2010 VW GTI crank counter hold." 1aauto.com
Very good video sir 👍. Exact what i was looking for. I have a Golf 6 TSI 1.4 2010. Is it the same torque 150Nm + 90dgr for the pulley bolt? Thanks again for a good quality video :)

Why did u need to turn the bolt to 90° i change the pulley seal and after changing it my tiguan shuts off when i put it in gear and it crank for a while before starting.
its a torque to yield bolt, the 90 degrees is required to achieve proper torque, the torque of the bolt holds the crankshaft timing gear in place, if not torqued properly it can cause catastrophic damage, very likely your out of time
I bought that tool from VW for around a $100. plus shipping. However the issue is that I do not have a hoist and cannot get the right positioning of the pulley.

Thanks man that was really helpful
How much does the VW "special" tool cost? (The tool used to hold the crankshaft pulley in place while loosening the bolt), thanks great video.

Must be used special tool to hold the chain gear in position. Don't listen this people.
Where do you get the VW tool?
Is this the same/very similar install for a 2014 GLI? I know the part might be different but I'm just wondering about the install.

Was that crank pulley seal leaking?
Also how did you manage the whole tdc or does the tool aid with that?
@@AhmadAli-du2fq you're supposed to set TDC before taking the vibration damper/crank pulley off
Did someone else hold the pully holder for the 90° turn
Can you do this but for mk4

Those lug bolts are difficult. I wish I had know that before buying the car.
The pounds of torque is not 111ish...
Best service

Couldn’t you just break the bolt loose before taking the belt off??
Whats the point you didn’t tell how to remove and install the seal

+Rodriguez Aponte Family Thanks for watching. There could be a seal that is failing there, so you will want to have it checked out. 1aauto.com
