    Great tour Jeff,
    There are only two known types of garages: The ones that are under construction, and those that are to small. :)

    Great ideas and awesome place to enjoy working on cars! The trolley is a great idea to prevent leaving tools all over the place. It forces you to put things away in order to keep using it. Very cool all around.

    You may consider the "shed" too small but I'm very jealous. I live in Neutral Bay so a garage like yours is impossible. I have have a few toys like you Jeff (240Z, MGA, MGB GT V8 & 993), so I've had to rent a couple of garages nearby to store them, a real first world problem :)!!

    Very nice set up Jeff, thank you for the tour. I wish I had room on my lot for a garage the size of yours, but alas only room enough for 2 cars and this is it. I thought your work shop/garage was pretty darn tidy. Really like the way you labeled the drawers, I think I will do the same. Here in Texas it's quite crazy sometimes in that new cars are imperial as well as metric which makes no sense to me. Go all one way or the other but not a mixture. Hope you and yours are doing well.

    Jeff, You ought to "go see" Moto Mules "two car garage with a few tools". I think he's been a "tool junkie" longer than you, though! Great set up for a "one man garage"- it shows how much "custom" you may have to make the space do your bidding rather than the other way! OK, I've "been nice" for a couple minutes- the "but" suggestions you suspected would be here;
    1) Install drenching spray heads and plumbing in several areas of your shop; over the paint storage and combustible substance storage, ove spaces where cars with fresh paint or gasoline aboard are kept. Do you have a back way out of the shop if the front way blocked by ???
    2) Triple the light in your paint booth- it will help you find weak spots and other problem areas (some of the new lighting needs to be low enough to show the rocker panels clearly).
    3) Moving the air compressor out of the shop proper was a great move! Repipe your building inlet to 30mm or larger black steel threaded pipe; when you turn up to match the run of pipe secured to the side of your paint booth, do it with a tee, pressure entering through the "bull" or tee, the down side into 30mm, terminate with a valve as a water bleed. As you pass the spray booth, leave another opening (turned to the top of the threaded black pipe) for the air supply reel. The reel would do you more good if it was just a few feet longer than the absolute shortest you need to work the problem- small dia. pipes and tubes have a lot of resistance, and the longer the worse it becomes. Possibly running the hard black threaded tubing to the opposite corner and adding an additional drain a air take off to feed another shorter hose would be better.
    At the end of the 30mm pipe, there in almost the middle of your garage, leave another opening on the top side and another drip leg down.
    Cannot emphasize this enough; drain all the drip legs every day! This moisture is not only bad ju ju for painting, it is destructive of your other air tools. This system is one I have installed in a much larger setting to get most of the water out before it gets to your outlet water filters- it works, well enough in one or two industrial applications to do away with mechanical, refrigerant derived, air coolers; the moisture content was less than 15% of what the air entering the hard line read vs the air at my furthest drop point.
    4) Keep Mrs. Jeff; it is doubtful you will ever find a better keeper!
    FC Rike
    PS; This is free advice- as usual, be your own best guide! Do go ask some tradesmen about the air piping and fire sprinkler ideas. None of this is beyond what you can do- none of it. Having a friend lose his shop (and two cars), I don't want to revisit that ever again- none were hurt by the fire, but the garage/shop and the kitchen side of the house were totaled. Alas, about free advice; you are free to do with it as you will, but I make no promises about saying "I told you so!".

    G'day mate, often wondered how do you do it without any insulation in the walls/roof!? Only thing I can imagine is that the temps at your place are are a lot more forgiving than the sub negative zero °C in winter and +44°C we get in NE Victoria!
