    Can't wait to try this. Thank you so much for the succinct and helpful tutorial! It's been driving me nuts that my hi-hat can't get any closer to my snare due to that awful third leg.

      So glad this helped you man! I know it isn't a perfect fix but hopefully it's less annoying to play without that leg in the way

    wooooooahhh
    Blew my mind
    Ive been playing with my hihat way off to my left so my double pedal was on the outside; cause playing with it on the inside seemed not cool..!
    Cant wait to try this

    I've also found success undoing the bolt that stop it from spinning... I have a cheap dixon hihat stand from 2010.

    I was thinking about buying a swivel stand, but I'm gonna look into this, and see if I can mod my stand similar to this.

    how did you bend that coat hanger into shape?

    • @BenReigel
      @BenReigel  2 года назад

      Hey Greg! I held the wire in one hand and used the pliers to bend it with the other. I cut off the excess with the tin snips.

    just undo the retaining screw on the bottom bracket, twist the whole unit around to the desired angle, and tighten it back up. No coat hangers need to die!

      Sounds like you own a swiveler - nice! Sadly the set screw on typical stands only holds the legs to the rod and loosening it won't allow rotation because the joint where the 3 legs meet the stand is fixed.

      That's strange ,I have done 3 that way now, all basic 'no name' entry level stands. I keep meaning to get a 'good' one . Mayby I won't !
