    DBA rotors are excellent. By the way, the three colored paint stripes on the rotors are heat sensitive. They will change color and can tell you if your brakes are getting to the proper temp or over heating.

    This video came out at the perfect time. I bought 4 wheel rotors and pads as well as stainless steel lines too. However I’m going to go 1 step further and refurbish the calipers seals. Not much extra money but worth replacing the seals and gaskets. Then I plan on painting the calipers. Just need help on color - Burgundy or the Nissan Brembo gold. My Z32 is white. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Love your videos man. Two things in the automotive world I hate - smell of used heavy gear oil, and the smell of old, used brake fluid. It's what's stopping me from rebuilding the calipers on my 95 cbr 900rr! edit: Man I also gotta find a variety pack of those little plastic caps

      Thank you! Agreed, those are the most rancid automotive smells haha.
      I'm sure they sell an assortment of those caps on Amazon somewhere but mine are just leftovers from previous projects. Handy things indeed!

    If your going to stick with OEM parts, i would suggest, getting the Front and Rear Nismo Lower control arms, before they stop making them.

    Once you get used to HICAS you can take some high speed curves at scary speeds. It just will overheat if you plan on tracking it. Oh and it weighs about 90 pounds with lines and fluid.

    those are stock z32 brakes. the skylines and z32 shared the same calipers . the z32 was the bigger brother in the 90s.

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  2 года назад +1

      That's true only in the rear. The R32 Skyline GT-R front calipers and rotors are different.

    The last thing I want for a track day car, particularly if I am going to put aggressive pads on it which generate heat, is drilled rotors. Th ey will crack. Slotted sure. Drilled, nope.

    Sorry I am new to your channel, but it looks like your using a Stillen Front sway bar, you may want to check to see it the bushing aren't binding/pinching on the sway. As looks like your using the supplied Stillen hardware. A good way to check it, is to disconnect the sway bar link and see if the swaybar moves up or down freely. This is just a suggestion.

      Thanks for the heads up! I've taken them down and lubricated the bushings somewhat recently because they were getting creaky. Definitely good to keep am eye on them.

    whats the brown stuff lathered behind the rotor? I'm thinking about going with stop tech drilled and slotted rotors on my s14 (doing the z32 big brake swap). how have your DBA's held up? would you recommend them over the stoptech?

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  Год назад

      That's copper anti-seize that I used to prevent the rotors from rusting to the hub. If you don't live in a place that uses road salt in the winter, you can skip that step.
      I would still recommend the DBA rotors. They are very high quality. Personally, I'd only go Stop Tech if they were significantly cheaper.

    • @ushad
      @ushad Год назад

      @@PracticalEnthusiast in my case the stoptechs are about $100 more per pair (drilled and slotted) and the DBAs are just slotted.

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  Год назад

      @@ushad I wouldn't recommend getting drilled rotors if you plan on tracking the car. They are weaker and can crack. Slotted-only is the best rotor configuration.
