    ~ Lee Roy Parnell ~
The stories that this man tells are unequivocally unmatched in subject and delivery. To list his history would take up volumes, but an attempt must be made. Texas born and raised, Lee Roy grew up in a different world from the rest of us. His father, a touring compatriot of Bob Wills, introduced Lee Roy to the guitar and performance at an early age. It wasn't about taking lessons, and going off to study hours of music theory--it was about sneaking into bars to see guitar greats, and finding any way to make it onto their tour bus. It was about performing at school dances and learning whatever you could from whatever records you could find. After some time, Lee Roy packed up his original '56 Les Paul Goldtop and high-tailed it to Austin where he continued to grow as an eclectic songwriter and guitar place. After a stint in New York City Lee Roy ultimately found himself in Nashville where he signed with Arista Records, releasing hit after hit of Deltablues road-house rockin' southern boogie with a country twang for fans around the world. As of late Lee Roy has gotten his foot into the door to the house of music publishing, as well as recently releasing his own signature '56 Goldtop with the Gibson Custom Shop. His list of credentials could continue on for pages and pages, so Lee Roy if you read this please forgive the quick recap of your invaluable life!

Such a great talent. He's one of the reasons I started playing slide and play Stratocasters. So underrated

I love Lee Roy Parnell's slide guitar playing, singing and song writing. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at Boulder Station here in Las Vegas in the 90's and it was truly awesome. He's one of those guys who gets labeled as country- and that's okay- but his music is a combination of styles. Like Delbert Clinton and Jimmy Buffett, one catagory is just too confined. If you have to use a catagory, use "Parnell". His style is unique, it's quality and it's from the heart.

I'm glad you're in good health. I like country music and oldies rock. I think today's music is junk. Its trash can material. Just like songs and stuff that I write. 99.9% of them are trash can bound. I'm a 100% disabled Nam Vet because of Agent Orange. That was this country's gift to me because I chose to serve my country instead of running off to Canada. Your favorite song of mine is On The Road. I love the slide guitar in that. All the best to you Leroy if you ever read this which I doubt that you will. God Bless.

You’re so blessed to have the talent to do what you do. The Lord gave you a precious gift I wish I had.
I play guitar but I feel like I don’t have a clue being a musician. Maybe in my next life God would bless me with the”Gift of being a song writer” You seem to be so down to earth and at peace with yourself. I totally respect that about you. I would love to sit down and jam with you. God Bless You Lee Roy. Keep making the great music that you do and God Bless You! Dave
