- Today is Lee Roy Parnell's birthday! Lee Roy is an amazing songwriter and guitar player who has worked on some of Ray's recordings like "Barbeque" in 1990. Here's Ray & Lee Roy talking for a bit before performing the classic Merle Haggard song "Workin' Man Blues" together live at the CabaRay Showroom in Nashville, TN!

Couldn't better than 2 of my favorite entertainers singing the great Merle Haggard.
Good stuff. The band's smokin, too. Lee Roy looks like he's aged about 1 year in the last 30. Amazing.
Happy Birthday Lee Roy
WOW / Gibson Guitar named after Leroy ❣❣❣ ... "Working Man's Blues" ❣/ YES ... Love hearing Ray & Leroy Play & Sing together ❣
These Gentlemen still have it going on ❣
RIP Merle
Lee Roy can definitely sound like Merle, great guitar player!! Ray looks great here!! Nice to see Lee Roy, he looks great too!
Love, Love, Love Leroy Parnell ❣
Heck yeah boys.........love it . Leroy can play...........saw him in a little venue last year. Fantastic
Lee Roy is always so humble . love him!!
Loved hearing him speak about his early career and his entry into the songwriting/publishing business. If you look at the musician credits on Ray's 1990 album, 'Lend Me Your Ears', you'll see Lee Roy Parnell's name...so I assume he played on practically all the recordings on there in addition to "Barbeque". Lee Roy co-wrote the huge Collin Raye hit, "That's My Story".
He was raised here in Stephenville Texas and went to School with my husband 's Brother and Sister he road the bus with them too.
So he RODE the bus that ran on the ROAD, right?

@@keithclark486 are you a Parnell
ANY ONE REMEMBER DON AND NELL?
Kinda bad when you mess the verses up twice with the words on a teleprompter in front of you..
You done screwed up the lyrics guys....but we love you anyway!
A shame Tommy White didn't get a break. What a waste to have a talent like that & not let him shine.
Awe Ray S. Introduced me to all kinds of stereotypes and racist stuff in his songs.
He didn't write all the songs he sang--
@@musicfanhawk4523 but he pimped that hate anyway.
