Sometimes I come back to this vid just to look at that guitar. Man what a BEAUTIFULLY patina that this has. Dripping with soul. I really hope that's all real, and not a "aged" "relic" fakery. I guess even if it is, I'm here talking about it right? Lol!

Good job , man !! I like to play this kind of stuff. Reminds me the great work of J. Page on You shook me and maybe Tribute to Elmore James.

Hey Jeff ~ Watch out, or the slide police will down you for (1) using a pick and
    (2) not using the right hand muting technique. As much as I love and respect
Trucks, Haynes, Sonny Landreth (totally an outside the box player) and all the
Duane Allman disciples of modern-style slide guitar, it's not the only way to get
a great sound and play great slide. Like all guitar playing, it's very personal how
you approach it. Often (like myself) it's just how you first learn it, or who gets
you started. I like this lesson and your technique and sound are terrific. Thanks.

Okay, I know I'm late but I'm here to help bud. I'm working with a little Fender SP-10 with the OD button. I usually keep it at max bass and min treble because I like how bassy it sounds but for that swamp music type stuff I've figured that bass and treble both on five with OD does good, I also switch to my bridge humbucker and both tone knobs on 10. Also for the most powerful sound without having it be too loud, I put my guitar volume to 10 and my amp volume to 1 but as long as I keep the guitar maxed out it sounds powerful no matter how loud I have the amp

music to you shook me by the very great slide player Earl Hooker, lyrics by Willie Dixon, first recorded by Muddy Waters. doesn't get much bluesier than that lineage. Page did a good job of putting his stamp on it without changing too much.

Why does he play so out of tune? (And I don´t mean the sliding and the vibrato, but the actual target notes, they´re constantly out of tune.) Sorry about the hating :(

    • @larrygeetar9309

Jeff has it right on for slide guitar.

larry geetar No, he’s right. His target notes were out of tune quite a lot. His slides and vibrato were fine, but the original starting notes, especially higher on the neck.
