Great work! cant wait to see the inside when its done. "raising the roof" really opened up the whole space.

Its always a good idea to caulk the window and door flanges. Adds another layer of protection for air and water.

Idk about caulking anymore... I've seen it crack even after less than a year and we're talking about Quad that I thought it was a good one

Nice! This waterproof tape helps doors and windows withstand hurricane-force winds.👍

Pressure treated wood is not immune to rot, it is resistant to rot.

Incredible the difference those windows make! How are you going to finish all that concrete? Paint? How far is this place from your real home? Good job

For sure! We are going to put siding all the way down. It’s about 15mins from home.

Why is there no lintel on top of the windows?

8'8" ceiling height? One more course and you could put a golf simulator in the lake house!

Haha! That was the max the local zoning department would let me go

Excellent. I’m trying to install new windows in the basement. For the wood bucks. Did you pre-assemble the “frame” and then place it, or did you put one pc of wood in at a time. Related, is there any hardware tying the wood buck to the concrete block? Other than the spray foam, did you have to use any other sealant between the buck and the concrete? Just looking for guidance.

I did pre assemble them and then secure them with tapcons. No other sealant

When you add trim do you caulk the trim at all for windows on concrete? Between window and trim or around the outside of the trim?? Just curious what proper procedure is for that.

Either you helper is a joker, or he is a hack.
Not sure if I would want him to work along side me. Many old dudes just don't care anymore.
