Poor Logan got conditioned from getting his ass kicked by Sabertooth on his birthday - EVERY birthday since they met in the modern times, and for a long time was unable to celebrate it with any of the X-Men for that reason. Here, with Sabretooth dead, he's finally able to celebrate it without his life being in danger, but he wants to spend it with someone that not only knows what it means to be hated, but who sees the good in him AND genuinely believes he is a good man. As much as the X-Men are family, have gone through their own hellish experiences, Logan knows they have also seen him at his worst and vice versa, so when they say he is "a good man" it doesn't feel as genuine. Spiderman is basically a living reminder that going through s--- doesn't have to change your morals.

I wonder if part of the motivation was because of Peter’s spider sense. I think sabertooth was dead at this point in the comics, but I’m sure if I was Logan I’d still want the guy who can sense danger around, just in case.
A lot of people forget that wolverine can do that too. He has heightened senses as well and Spidey has called Wolverine's sense of smell, "the less attractive version of my spider-sense."

Makes sense that Spider-Man doesn't drink. As well as knowing how dangerous his powers can be if unchecked he has a secret identity to protect (which is easier to not care about when you're intoxicated). Much love to him for being one of the few remaining "good guys"

Poor Logan got conditioned from getting his ass kicked by Sabertooth on his birthday - EVERY birthday since they met in the modern times, and for a long time was unable to celebrate it with any of the X-Men for that reason.
Here, with Sabretooth dead, he's finally able to celebrate it without his life being in danger, but he wants to spend it with someone that not only knows what it means to be hated, but who sees the good in him AND genuinely believes he is a good man.
As much as the X-Men are family, have gone through their own hellish experiences, Logan knows they have also seen him at his worst and vice versa, so when they say he is "a good man" it doesn't feel as genuine.
Spiderman is basically a living reminder that going through s--- doesn't have to change your morals.
Logan looks at spidey as a little brother figure.
Hell, he could have invited Spidey while Sabertooth was still alive and saved himself a world of hurt.

In the comics. Spiderman fought Sabertooth before Sabertooth and Wolverine meet in the Morlock massacre .Where they clearly knew each other. Few have fought Sabertooth alone and lived to tell about. I think Sabertooth was going after Blackcat when Spiderman stop him. So just in case Sabertooth showed up alive ready to kill. Spiderman is the one guy you want to have your back in that fight. Also he might have regretted that whole graveyard fight where Peter kill punched "she's a pro" thinking it was Wolverine comeing back for more .😮
