Just work with what you have for now. I will say to start off with your neighborhood station and practice filming there especially the zooming. After that you could start going to other stations nearby. Afterwards you can pretty much try to do different stations. At some point do consider a camcorder once you feel comfortable doing so.
Being that my father's an EMT and I'm an EMT I will always apriciate these videos.
