New Buffalo to Mackinaw. Lake Michigan beach towns are all good. Our favorite place to go for short road trips from Indiana. Over the years we have almost been completely around the lake. Always something new to explore. We like the Michigan side of the lake best and the larger beaches when the water level is down. Silver Lake sand dunes is our favorite.
That sounds great. We love finding new places that we've haven't been to in a long time, or never been. Have you done the dune rides when at Silver Lake? We have followed the shore lines around most of Michigan. Still need to explore more of the thumb area to complete. We hope to get to Torch Lake this year. We've been by there, but never stopped. We have been told the water is the color of the water in the Caribbean. We have traveled some of the island down there, and would love to get a taste of those colors from here.
What a wonderful video on St Joseph- I learned so much- had a few questions- 1) are there any lunch type sandwich places inside the market? 2).if you park by the market, is it a really long walk to the beach-carousel area? 3) do you wait a long time for the pizza at the train station? 4) besides the Lazy Ballerina, did you notice any other downtown wineries? Thanks so much- you both are great!!
I hope your family enjoys the area. We had a great time. There is a north and south beach. So there should be plenty of room to enjoy the beaches. I enjoyed the stores as well.
Park behind the bank building on Rt. 12. Take a fold up wagon load up stuff for your day , walk thru town and take the ramp down on side of stairs, down to the sprinklers and beach.
Just came back from there, we stop at Meirs before going into town to buy whatever we need for meals and snacks.
