Great discussion! Thank you Beard for all the content, the campaigns, the scenarios. Cyclopean Foundations is in my Top3 Campaigns for a Blind run so far, can't wait to replay it.
I'm gonna check out the other interview

Excellent video! EotE was the campaign that was disrupted by the start of Covid from a design standpoint. TSK was developed completely during Covid which might have affected how thorough the play testing was and design idea feedback from other designers.

I want to see circle type tests again. (Circle actions on TCU). Probably with a different name of course.
It's fun, it makes cards with different icons more valuable to commit and doesn't specifically reward specialists, it rewards flexes instead.
Maybe for example concealed cards could have been a test where you test (book + fist) or (book + foot) instead of just testing your highest stat.
Also I think they could use that for many story tests, it can help tell a story as Justin says, maybe climbing a wall is fist+foot, maybe parleying with someone who you need to intimidate is book+fist, maybe avoiding damage from an unspeakable thing that chases you could be test brain+foot
I think there's a lot of room for this type of stuff and I'm surprised they only used it once.

Flooding is also just very evocative. People can feel the tension of rising water since most of us can picture it from experience and the board feels more full/dangerous.

Patrice’s enemy weakness is a peril, so there is a precedent to peril enemies. I believe Gloria’s book weakness can add peril to an enemy (technically?)

Great discussion! One thing I'd add for consideration is the supplies is EOTE. While not a 1:1 to TFA supplies (you have to find them, bring them up the mountain, and have extra in-game functions, not just during interludes), I think they show how designers can take a previous concept, and modify it to fit a new campaign. IMHO the supplies were one of the best thought-out mechanics in EOTE, and I'd love to have more re-thinks like this going forward.

Very interesting discussion. Funny you say that custom content creators should explore the previous mechanics more, because when I created The Morrigan Tales I brought back Veiled, Haunted, Hidden, Keys, Memories, Frost Tokens in a interesting way, even a scenario like In the Clutches of Chaos.

Ive really wanted to do a Destiny Vault of Glass Raid campaign. But doing it by myself , the project looks so daunting.

This was a nice perspective about the design space and process.
I think the supply mechanic could be a fun visit for certain things you’re trying to accomplish in a scenario. I think Forgotten Age had a few supplies that helped you at certain locations but for the most part don’t do too much else. I really like theme heavy scenarios. I’d like supplies to be more engaging. Give me a story asset that I have to use in the scenario to try and do whatever it is we’re doing. Maybe I have to use map to navigate jungle. Maybe the compass helps get more use out of the map. Rope can help connect locations that would otherwise not be accessible

It is oddly satisfying how the creasing on his shirt some times lines up perfectly with the line on the side of the virtual tabletop.
I really enjoyed Scarlet Keys, but my biggest gripe with it is that so many of the cities you go to do not have a scenario. They are just a few lines of text, you get something, and then move on. I wish each city had a playable scenario.

Adding extra tokens could prevent me from buying a new expansion. My tokens became so worn that I had to throw them away and buy custom token. As the game ages I expect more players to be in the same position as me.

As long as I can continue to buy pretty Aurbits tokens for whatever new stuff comes out, I am all for more of them!

Call the enemy Peril “Fearsome” and it keeps players from using the engage actions or committing skills.
