The long-awaited release date of Gran Turismo 7 (GT7) is scheduled for March 4, 2022 and will be available for both PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4 consoles.
Variable Time/Weather Simulation
In GT7, a more natural and realistic variable time system and weather effect system have been recreated. Referencing a massive amount of meteorological observation data, including those from the academic databases of NASA, GT7 recreates spatial/time of day conditions for particle size distribution and concentration distribution of aerosol particles in the atmosphere on a global environmental scale.

They’re two different titles, gt is simulator and forza much more arcade. I’m a gt player from the first on ps1, but I played forza horizon 4 on pc and…I wish I will have them both. They looks fantastic 🤩

Thankfully due to GT7 coming to PS4, I will probably get both. Though if I had to choose, I’d take FH5, just for the relaxing nature and community stuff

I am absolutely a GT7 guy, but both games deserves praise in it´s own category. I really hope for even more pronounced physics in Gt7 compared to Sport.

Gran Turismo 7 is heading towards more hardcore racing Sim than Arcadia like back when it was Gran Turismo I believe four and five that was like the last arcades / Sim racing that we ever had now in 2021 like after GT sport it's been heading towards hardcore racing Sim track they should just put GT sport and Gran Turismo 7 on the PC it will sell way more on there especially for the cockpits and all the setups

@@johnsean122 I'll tell you straight up, who ever said that GT7 is less realistic then FH5 is absolutely wrong.
GT7 is more sim style then arcade style, 80% sim & 20% arcade. There is a couple of reasons why not just the graphics but more towards features in the game. Oil change, tire wear, washing your car...ete those features combined with the environment and racing on a professional circuit track will lead to more towards simulation racing style than it is arcade style. Maintaining your car such as oil change tire wear those things are real in the real world especially in racing those play a huge role and other things as well they're putting that in GT7 I watch the trailer & it doesn't look unrealistic at all it's above Forza Horizon 5 if you're heading towards more Sim like racing style remember PlayStation have to sell their steering wheel accessories in the store they may not have a PlayStation 5 but they still got accessories to go along with either the PlayStation 5 or Playstation 4 of the steering wheel setup that's why GT7 is heading towards more towards Sim than it is arcade because that's where the steering wheel comes in play if that makes sense. The game is still playable is enjoyable you going to love it just note to self that you're not going to have the freedom in GT7 like in Forza Horizon 5.
Forza Horizon 5 is 50/50 between arcade and Sim is a perfect balance between the two the only game that ever comes close to Forza Horizon 5 balance between arcade and Sim is dirt 4 or dirt 5. Dirt rally 2.0 is more Sim than arcady so you can say that game can be right up where GT7 is at because dirt rally 4 is more balance between arcade and Sim in terms of the handling versus dirt rally 2.0 has more Sim like and less arcade handling for that game I would recommend a steering wheel setup because you'll feel more in control then playing on the controller if that makes sense, graphically both games GT7 & Forza Horizon 5 looks good how ever if you looking for a fun & good time is going to be Forza Horizon 5 hands down you can really let loose & do what you want to do, go where you want to go & race how you want to race over GT7.
The Crew 2 & Need for Speed are much more are Arcadia style racing less sim like 90% arcade style & 10% sim style. Personally for me both games has god-awful handling because of the fact that you don't feel like you're in control of the vehicle then you were to have Forza Horizon 5 where it's like 50/50 you have more control over the vehicle still got that arcadiness but it's like a good balance personally for me in my opinion that both games between the crew 2 and Need for Speed are the worst handling ever on the controller is not even fun I feel like Hot Wheels unleashed is a lot Arcadia gameplay wise and handling but it feels more control in that game over these two games that's personally my opinion that's how I feel about it because when I played it it's just doesn't feel good I'm like playing dirt 4 or Forza Horizon 5 it feels a lot more balanced and you feel like you got more handling if you want you should try it out for yourself if you go back and play The Crew 2 and then jump on to Forza Horizon 5 you'll feel a big difference.

I’m glad Forza and GT have gone in very different directions in recent years. Now players have the choice to play whatever suits them best and it no longer makes sense to debate which game is better.

Forza Motorsport is going the same direction as GT but nowadays, Forza Motorsport is being step-brother-ed by Turn 10.

@@focussport i know, but that is"commercial"stuff. so iRacing is Sim as GT? do you play Sim with controller? i do play GT with controller, can you play iRacing with the controller? accurate enough.. its a game. aint accurate as a Sim, its easier. it was"the real driving simulator"25 yrs ago. now.. is different. others are sims, not GT. but you know that. FIA goes where ppl is, and yes, GT is the most popular, that's all. also FormulaE is FIA, MotoE is FIA. this is why FIA doesnt make any sense atm. Fun Fact, im 40yo and play GT since PS1, i also do Sim on ACC, not the best Sim, but way better than GT. i guess im older than you. and, they keep it like that only because they want remain the most popular. if GT were a Sim, many ppl wont even play it, thus, less less money.. dont get me wrong, i loved GT, look at my channel.. its there, but being realistic, its a good game, not a Sim. my opinion due to my exeperience.

I have played project cars 2 which I think qualifies as a Sim racing game and it really was unplayable with a pad, and like u said if gt was a real sim by today's standards it won't sell as many copies, I think gt hit a really sweet spot with its play style not a sim like Project cars and also not an arcade like forza.
BTW I bought Xbox one x only for fh4 and fm7 and they were worth it. However in terms of driving they can not be compared to GT. Almost every car in gt has a unique feel to it and that to me at least makes it a better "cars" or racing game.
I don't really see Forza Horizon as a competitor to GT, as it's more of a fun, arcade style open world game. Games like The Crew and NFS feel like big competitors to Horizon rather than GT. I think Forza Motorsport is a much bigger competitor instead.
But we got no actual info on Motorsport 8 though except that its coming.
Horizon 5 and GT7 are both the biggest racing games that come in the same time period.
So its reasonable to compare these 2.
You are way off the mark Forza Horizon 5 ain't got s*** on need for speed or the crew cuz both of those games are absolutely dog s*** when it comes down the handling and driving mechanics it is dog water for real like I play both of them and I had to uninstall it because it's trash and let me tell you something I play on manual and I turn all of that abs and all that traction assistance all that garbage off and I play the game and it was horrible horrible especially the crew too it was dog s*** I was like what the f*** is this I'm playing a super Arcadia cabinet machine there's a difference between arcade racing games that are like a standard at home like think of the need for speed Hot pursuit that's a perfect example of a good arcade racing game Forza has both between arcady and Sim because you can really tune the car the way you wanted to and it doesn't hold your hand but the crew too and the need for speed 2015 and up are super trash super garbage oh my God I can't stand it drifting is like awful

Why go with the ‘Need For Speed” series, it was great from nfs pro street & nfs shift 1 & 2, need for speed is all about copying the ‘Fast & Furious’ movie series by going from a street racing series to game where your using things like “turbo boost”, “spike strips”, “EMP Shocks”, What has need for speed come to? I prefer more real racing games like ‘Forza Motorsport” especially FM3 & FM4 (Forza Motorsport 3 & 4) and Gran Turismo Series

If you want realism, GT7.
Gran Turismo has competitions where winners can transition into real life race cars, and those very GT racers have won in many races around the world in real life! No other vieo game car racer on any other platform does this, and it proves how realistic GT is.
And playing Gran Turismo has made me a better driver in real life as well.

Been playing since GT2. I'm a great driver because of that game. It taught me Soo much details and getting my license through taking courses. You can clearly tell the difference in skill between your driving and the kid on the highway next to you in his automatic beamer 😂.
If you want realism go Forza Motorsport. Forza Horizon is not about realism.
Gran Turismo is a "simcade" not a full simulator but not an arcade game either. Acc, iRacing and Project Cars 2 are proper simulators.
Gran Turismo is definitely more realistic Forzas more arcadey i think more casual players will enjoy forza for its ease an size i think gran turismo is for more hardcore car enthusiasts an racers GT7 is for me.

Both are great! Bought a Series S just for Forza Horizon games as they so fun to pick up and play. Gran Turismo is a more serious race focused game of course and I will probably clock up more time on GT7 in due course. Enjoy them both people.

The transition between trailers is beautiful. I will definitely buy gt7 because i like gt since gt3. But forza also looks nice!

GT has way more depth and charm than the FORZA titles generally speaking.
Plus, FORZA titles have a lot of flaws in recent years...
(Repetitive cars & content, missing bodykit parts for certain cars, badly done 3D car designs, etc...)

I'd love GT7, because of it's driving atmosphere (slower pace and more focused on driving skills). But unfortunately it does not release on PC platform. I hope that it will release on Steam so that more people could enjoy the game.

When i saw the video title, I was ready to jump into the comments, grab some popcorns and look at people fight over which game's better without even considering each other's arguments, as we are more and more used to see on internet nowadays. Both are equally as gorgeous graphically the cars and environments are top notch but i will say the car designs are slightly better in GT.
However I would also point out the crowd of people seem like cut out cardboard in GT compared to a more closer to realism people in FH.

Again both are fun depending on what you like they are catered towards two completely different audiences with FH being an arcade racer it is more accessible to the wider audience with many fun activities to do together and open world free roaming FUN!
GT is for the car enthusiasts wanting to learn and know how a car drives and feels on all weather conditions and road surfaces.

Conclusion
Simulation and Arcade are two completely different genre of games.
A more similar comparison to GT would be FM which is also simulation racer and with the new upcoming and highly anticipated FM it will push the boundaries of simulation racing to whole new level.
As for FH it is the undisputed king of open world arcade racer there is nothing like it.

What a great way to explain the differences and how to question oneself about what you trying to achieve while playing the games, my take from your explanation is that , I'm going to have to own both games, simple as that. It's not even close to me, Gran Turismo 7 all the way. I had fun with FH2,3 and 4 but I get bored of the gameplay very quickly and the presentation is terrible. Gran Turismo 7 is such a pristine and classy package and the gameplay is incredible.

I prefer GT7 because of the precision driving as my number one go-to. But when I wanna just have some fun and do some highway pulls and drag races and off roading, ill just pop in forza.

Gran Turismo is probably the only console racing game that I can actually take seriously. Although the physics aren't quite up to par with alot of PC Simulators, I think it offers the closest feeling to real life racing physics over any other console games. Everything else to me is just something you'd play for fun with a controller

I remember playing GT 1 and 2 as a kid and being frustrated at how hard it was to control the more powerful cars. That's one thing I feel like Forza is missing the cars are too easy to handle, it's not as realistic. Not to mention the licenses, the music. The career difficulty is another thing for me I remember grinding out some hard fought championshio wins in GT1 to only win a few thousand dollars and some crappy demio which I wiuod always sell, In Forza you win a championship and get awarded with like 3 or 4 cars, it's too easy. I like Forza but Gran Turismo will always be my favourite racing game.

I have Forza Horizon 5 and it's blowing my mind!!! I feel like Forza is truly my first 9th gen game and I have a lot of Xbox games. But GT 7 look jaw dropping good, but I don't got a PS 5 😖
FH5 is great!
If you want realism there is Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo, if you want great fun it's Horizon 5. But you can console war if you like
I like both games for entirely different reasons. Sometimes I just love tuning every little detail on my car and just lose myself in a 10 lap race. And other times I just want to go for a quick sprint and fancy jumps in a Lamborghini Reventón.
Honestly best of both worlds!

If you want quality, realism, competition/challenges and are a car culture guy? Gran Turismo without a second thought.
If you are just a casual gamer and just want to have fun and not that much competition. Go for Forza.
These games are each for different audiences as I stated above.
More importantly. If you have a PS5, buy GT7. If you have Xbox or PC, buy Forza. Or rather, you have to do this. :)

Why compare the two? Forza Horizon is semi arcade racer with a touch of Sim. It's not even the same category. It has more in common with burnout than it does with gt. If you want to compare full Sim racing games then it's forza motorsport vs gran turismo. Both should be coming out next year

No hate here, but why are we comparing a racing/car guy game vs an Hollywood car game? I'd get horizon 5 for the fun if i had an xbox, but gran turismo is always gonna be that racing game that will never get old, no matter how much bs "the real driving simulator" statement is. Which in my opinion still more real than Horizon and Motorsport combined.
Because I think there's a lot of people who play GT who might actually prefer Horizon and vice versa
GT is real enough that the winners have transitioned into real life race car drivers and won many races!
it all comes down to pure graphics and I think Forza achieves higher graphical fidelity overall, especially in the world environments.
While Forza may be more fun, I think GT is closer to a realistic driving experience.
Gt7 is for you if you don’t have an Xbox and forza if you don’t have a PlayStation

When FM8 comes out, then it's another story to tackle, if GT7 will be able to stand it's ground. Just imagine all the bells and whistles that FH5 have, then add up the latest physics that the devs are talking about for FM8. This will weigh out if what console will I get soon. @@Kireth The developers said they have learned from the past and their mistakes, and maybe from GTS and the upcoming GT7 which is releasing initially than FM8. I'm not an Xbox, nor Forza Fan here cause I never had those, I am a PlayStation and Gran Turismo guy since childhood. But I'm a bit curious as to what FM8 can bring to the table to match GT7.

i think gran turismo has perfectly balanced fun with realism
and yes so far we haven't seen the corvette c8 in gt7 but don't forget that gran turismo is not out yet, it will have update, and fh5 devs don't have to care if the corvette c8 have the same performance and handling as irl so they just get a 3d model
+ gt7 is detailed tuning back, and it seems like they took everything back from 0 compared to gt6 so that could be another reason why gran turismo 7 will not have a ton of new car day one

You don't really have the option to choose between them because you can only buy one of them depending on the the console you have. GT7 is a PlayStation exclusive while FM5 is only on XBOX and PC. So no one is gonna debate between these 2 games as you only have 1 available for you to buy anyway
Gran Turismo all the way, but I'm a big fan of Forza. BTW I still am more of a Test Drive Unlimited guy, shame is in Honk Kong, at least it isn't in Mexico 🤢

Look, both have their niche. Apples and oranges, one is arcade, the other more simulator. I like Gran Turismo, but I do not hate Forza.
Only played gt a few times but I have about 300ish hours on forza over the different titles. I like forza because it has a little bit of everything. A continuous 45 min drift is pretty satisfying. Get my sim rig tomorrow and excited to try both out on it .

Depending which platform you play on will influence the decision. So it's not simply a case of which is best for a player.
Not everyone owns both consoles.
If someone only owns a PS4/PS5 they won't even be considering FH5.
Just the same as someone on XBOX only won't even be considering GT7.

I'd always took GT before Forza! At the time I love to play Forza Horizon 5 BUT GT7 will crush it in terms of graphics and realistic physics.

No winner really, both going to be good, Gt7 with a wheel simulating real racing is going to be different than forza on a pad blasting through open world landscapes for the thrill. It comes down to what floats ya boat.

Forza seems a great game. But Gran Turismo has that magic that no other racing games on console has. Since I have both x series and PS5 I'll get both titles, but if I had to choose only one I'd defo go for Gran Turismo 7 for Playstation 5. That's car porn for you, literally.

PC/keyboard jockey here. I definitely prefer open world racing games. I have FM7, but only cos it was cheap, and have played it very little, preferring Horizon 4. I have played a few closed world games, but often look beyond the boundaries of the track and think, "I'd like to go there."
On the other hand, from watching you sim racing sorts (you, Super GT, Basic Ollie, Rory Alexander, etc.), I've picked up some useful tips on racing which have got me thinking more about my own techniques, which I think have made me marginally less mediocre in Horizon 4. I think that's the thing about the GT series - the techniques and the technical details of driving in a virtual world. That sort of thing can be quite engaging in its own right.
FH5 is meant to have better wheel support, and I've long been curious to try, but can't justify the expense for a single game, and I've been playing racing games with a keyboard for years anyway.
Definitely try out Trackmania if you are on a keyboard! Very interested to see how the simulation handling in Forza Horizon 5 feels, I'll also be trying it out with my Fanatec wheel
Forza horizon is the only racing game in the world that has my countries old school muscle car in it, i can literally race my old car that i own in rl life in forza horizon, thats some next level feeling right there. because no way in hell i'd actually race it in rl, too damn expensive and old lol.

I have a PS5 and I have always been a PlayStation fan over a Xbox. Grand Turismo 7 looks like it’s going be a great game with better graphics, but the different varieties of car selections in Forza Horizon 5 is something I’m more interested in. ( Like racing across the woods in a duly truck ) I’m more into open world games vs racing on the same track for a long period of time. Purchasing another console just to play 1 or 2 different games sounds ridiculous, but that’s something I’m willing to do just to experience a nice open world 🌎 racer with plenty of cars to choose from.
Honestly it's the best of both worlds!
Iam a playstation guy since playstation 1. Got the ps5 on release ofcourse. Never ever did it cross my mind to get a xbox, even 2 months ago, no way. Till I saw that new 6 part documentary of the xbox, and I found it fascinating. It got me looked more into the new xbox series x, and wow, that gamepass. Forza 5, halo, dead by daylight and so many more good games for just 15 bucks a month? Dang. I went out for a search to buy an xbox and found 1 after a week of searching. This thing blew my mind. I feel like microsoft is giving players a lot, compared to sony. Feels like sony is screwing us over now lol. I hope they step it up.
What Iam trying to say is, its worth getting the new xbox. I used to call it the xbone or wannabe playstation. ps1 to ps4 > xbox. But this new generation consoles is something different. Cant wait for GT7. Enjoying Forza5 (it looks beautiful) in an open world, but I do miss that competetive racing against real players.
I enjoyed Forza Horizon 5 on Series X, best looking next-gen game, but like every Forza Horizon game, there is no longevity after you complete all the single player races. Online is awful on Forza Horizon.
GT7 will be playable for years due to the fantastic online component. The career mode should take an age to complete for people who're afraid to race online. I also have a Fanatec sim rig, GT7 will be brilliant on the wheel.

I like Forza a lot both the Motorsport and Horizon games but I love GT more. Either way I'm the real winner here as I can enjoy both instead of fighting over which plastic box is better.

I play both GT and FH series. While FH4 was terrible with wheels, FH5 with my Fanatec DD1 feels AMAZING.
I prefer GT hands down just cause you get a more realistic experience then Forza and Need for Speed I see those two as racing arcade games to relax, that you don't use physics that don't have to worry when to accelerate or break like GT.
Forza is great when I playing with my kids, but for adults it's got to be Gran Turismo

Gran turismo for track racing is a console best imo, horizon for free roaming/street racing does it best imo. An open world gran turismo would be the icing on the cake for me. That said I genuinely love both franchises. I'll be buying a ps5 just for gt7, gran turismo will always be a special game for me.

I’m an Xbox guy. But I’ll say this anytime I see that GT logo it brings a smile to my eyes because as a kid gran Turismo was everything to me. I’m now more of a Forza guy but for obvious reasons. That being said. If I could play GT on Xbox that would complete me
This was a really good video thank you for sharing it. You confirmed what I have known all along, that GT 7 is more of a Sim that caters to racing and car enrhusiasts while Horizon is more of a fun, arcade style game. Both are good but very different and will appeal to different people.

@@mealyys It's not, it's arcade, the drifting, the handling is arcade-like, it doesn't make you learn how to drive a car properly, with each car's handling being the same on all cars, maybe lighter maybe heavier, but on gran turismo, each car has different and unique handling, corners, making it more simulation-like.

Don’t forget about gran Turismos motion sense steering on controller. Honestly I feel like it gives you more potential for time than analog steering. It got me to A class before I got my wheel

Your not comparing apples to apples here one is an open world arcade game, GT7 is a closed track simcade game. The C8 without the bodykit has just dropped into FH4 as a gift check your messages. FH4 runs at 4K/60, FH5 is targeting 4K in both Performance and Quality modes this has never been done before according to DF. Forza Horizon is and always will be a pad game, GT7 is most definitely a wheel game. If you really must compare GT7 to something then compare it to Forza Motorsport when that comes out. As for the cars in FH5 most have just been lifted from FH4.
Perhaps - but Forza Motorsport doesn't have a release date and these are the two biggest driving games of 2022 most likely. DF review looks really good

Forza horizon all the fucking way, GT may focus more on how cars work but if you want to drive classics from the 40s and 50s to super cars around beautiful Mexico with the sun beaming off ur car as you embrace the culture of the country, GT shouldn’t even be on ur mind
Forza is clearly more impressive in terms of graphics and content and I got it, it’s nice, but I’m really excited for GT7. I’m much more of a track racer and I play GT for the clean online racing. I can’t really put my finger on why exactly but the GT games keep me coming back longer than anything else.

The graphics are actually better on Gran Turismo (at least the car models, which is what's most important).
As an old time player in GT when tried FH4, what I felt is FH4 is more of an arcade racing game. The online races felt more childish, when in GT u need to focus on your gear and cornering much more.
Driving a Zonda R in Nurburring with a wheel and headset is sth that u cannot find in forza.
But at the end I found myself playing FH more tbh, because cruising and drifting in an open world feels very good and joyful to me👌

I've played Gran Turismo for about two decades, but I'm interested in getting Forza as well. Serious question, do the cars handle "aracady" or are they somewhat similar to GT? I don't want to powerslide through every corner.
It's different - in Forza Motorsport you definitely will be sliding more because of the different tyre model 👍

For motorsport it's like gt7 and better you can actually drift like real life.... don't listening to those who saying it's arcady physics try both games and judge..... being have both games and judging them by your own experience it's better than stick in one said and hate the other side for no reason but just for protecting your own side.

forza is an arcade game you can’t compare the two all 500+ cars drive similar. every car in gt7 will drive differently. you will definitely be able to tell the difference between cars. Makes the game easy and boring. GT7 is more challenging and more rewarding when you get a good lap time or learn how to tune your car to drift it. It also has a tone of iconic vehicles. I would get forza just to buy a couple cars and customize it do a few races and get bored by easily getting first place.
Forza Horizon 5 does feel deeper than 4!

It's apple to oranges. Horizon is a super arcade racer and GT is a simcade racer. A better comparison is Forza Motorsport with GT, but they seem to have left that series on the back burner indefinitely.

I actually felt a stir of excitement once again which after watching all the video content over the last six months I have to tell you that my excitement meter has been dulled quite a bit. Not your videos in particular but the sim racing communities videos as a whole have gone quite stagnate due to the need for newer games. The way you put it all together was quite intriguing. 👍🏻
