Ive been playing FH4 for a few hours right now and its pretty much better than FH5 in everyway. FH5 felt way to easy and some of the fastest cars were given to the player very early on in the game. The game had no sense of real challenge or progression. FH4 is the right balance of enjoyment, challenge, and the story is way better.
FH4 is a gem and there are plenty of folks still playing it. FH5 has the fatal flaw of having a poorly designed map. Just too much empty desert. And somehow I prefer the drving in 4 over 5 even if the newer model is supposed to be more complex and realistic. In practice it feels more arcadey as the cars are just glued to the ground and less responsive to the environment (at least that's my impression so far). So if you don't have it, get the 20$ deluxe FH4 while it's still available. You can test both on the Xbox subscription.
I got an email about the sunset of FH4 last month and MS gave me the base game for free. The reason being that as a GamePass subscriber, I had FH4 as part of the sub, but I'd bought DLC for it. So the email said that in order to continue enjoying the DLC, here's the free base game so you can continue to install/play it after it's no longer available for purchase. I don't know if they'll continue to give the base game to people for free if they get the DLC, but this might be a way to shave off a couple of more dollars from the price (for GamePass folks) if they do. And I agree with the video verdict. I had a lot more fun in FH4, with the seasonal differences.
Ah darn, I just read the delisting page and it said they no longer sell the DLC separately. Still worth getting FH4 though for anyone who doesn't have it! It's awesome.
Personally, I prefer Forza Horizon 4. especially for the Battle Royale, which in my opinion is better set, my channel deals with more than 5 because it is the fashion, not for anything else. New sub!

for 20 dollars you should get the ultimate package that includes all the dlc.the reson they have that good of sale is because the game is going to be delisted soon.i wish they would do some advertising to let people know that.i know about it threw you tubers that cover games that are going to be delisted.

4 still seems more populated. That is at night after people get off work I find. Best part though is that the map is smaller so you can actually just drive around and have more street races with people. The map is also just more enjoyable with the season system and the lack of… sand.
Good comparison. I guess I lean pretty heavily towards the arcade end of the racing spectrum, and even these couldn’t hold my interest for very long. Will you be able to play online at all in FH4 after 2024? I think my enjoyment was impacted by the fact that both of these games flood you with cars without doing a good job of highlighting the differences between them. I needed a better sense of progression. I found the whole menu system pretty poorly designed as well, throwing all sorts of info and options at you, thus making what you’re looking for harder to find. I struggled for quite a bit in both games to find out how to change my character’s name or appearance, and even changing your car takes about a dozen button presses on a controller. I will say though that both of these games look absolutely beautiful, and the racing is good, just not to my taste.
The challenges system and weekly thingies are already off but you can get points for group events and unlock all the rare cars. So everyting is there but the fluff is cut out. The auction house is still working.

@@usuratonkaichii They have so many car licenses, music as well but I'm pretty sure its coz of car licenses - U can buy the ultimate edition for 16 which is a crazy price, then play it later. I bought a playstation and played need for speed / the crew moterfest which are like the top of the line most popular and highest rated racing games on playstation, and comparing it to Forza horizon 5 was actually a joke. I never play those 2 games anymore, Forza is just so much better then everything else UNLESS you want something sim, Forza is the best car arcade game by far wise and GT7 on playstation is defo the best sim game out now. Both are console exclusives.

Got both fh4 and 5 on release dates...played both to death..both are brilliant but fh4 is so much better...the roads the scenery everything, I find myself putting on fh5 every few weeks but after 10mins i put fh4 on....dont get me wrong fh5 is amazing but like others have said Mexico is boring..the scenery is amazing too but just not the same as Scotland...maybe im being biased cause im from Scotland 👋...but racing down a tight twisty back road is so much more fun....and another thing every time i play fh4 theres always at least 60 online players...fh5 its usually like 25...end of rant..fh4 hands down.
i like the new cars in fh5 but the map and missions and everything is horrible after fh3 and 4 so i just play fh4 and drive around Edinburgh until 6 come.. i hope for big cities like Tokyo or smthing

Fh4 nailed it with the map. It looks and feels alive and vibrant. FH5's map looks dusty and dead, as though an apocalypse.

I had no problems with it on a GTX 1080. Near max settings at 1080p. (Now running a Radeon RX 7600XT)
I play at Ultra 1080p, 30. I got a 1050ti 4gb, and a old amd a10 processor. Never had a problem with my nvidia graphics card.
My RTX 4060 runs it fine, so I wouldn’t say that’s accurate generally.
