  • [Mono] The hard-to-label collective made a notable appearance on this very eclectic USTV program. This appearance, more than many others, solidified that "tag" for the show. Aside from performing two of their own works [one an Elvis Presley interpretation], the group would appear behind the country legend Conway Twitty, in their eyeball suits, moving somewhat in unison, with the song. This must have perplexed Mr. Twitty's hardcore fans, at the time, perhaps not seeing the humor of it all.
Backing musicians include: Hiram Bullock on guitar; Don Alias on percussion; Omar Hakim on drums; Philippe Saisse on keyboards; David Sanborn on saxophone; and Tom Barney on bass guitar, for the song performed by Conway Twitty. Otherwise, the Residents provided their own musical backing, on this occasion.
The creative force behind this program was Hal Willner.
