  • Runaway Mine Train (originally called Run-A-Way Mine Train) is a steel roller coaster located in the Boomtown section of Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas. Built in 1966, Runaway Mine Train is the oldest roller coaster in the park.
The ride was the first of many mine train roller coasters built across the United States in response to the development of tubular steel rails. The Arrow Development Company, with Ronald Toomer, Karl Bacon, and Ed Morgan, advanced the steel roller coaster and roller coaster technology into a new era.

Indeed. Just rode it for the first time (did both Texas Six Flags over a 4 day trip) and loved it. Next to Bobsled coaster was probably my "favorite" ride in the park. Though there were better, more intense rides, I always find these old classic the most charming and most fun. AT least, I smile the entire time unlike Mister Freeze where I'm like "oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck, why, why?" Shockwave too was a phenomenal ride too.

That last drop doesn’t look big at all but I swear you feel it in the back seat! Such a fun ride

No, I never use a phone. Using a phone can cause injuries to other guests. See description.

What is that whistle sound at 2:12?

It's just a sound effect that is on that lift hill. I think it has always been there.

There's a red light up in the little tower there. You can catch a glimpse of the red light shining off camera lens. They also sometimes have a small mist effect going there around lake too. It's just a cheap effect to simulate a train crossing. It is a mine train, ya know. It's better at night.

I wish that they would put the waterfall cave back in the turn after the second hill lift..

@@gartrellliddell3806 Perhaps they might. The new park president has been doing a lot of great things lately to the park.
