Ok - I WANT this trumpet!!!!!!!!! But of course I would not sound near as good as you do. You sound REALLY good on this one Jonathan. Reverb also sounds perfect.
This is a very nice horn. I'm playing my Adams and comparing it. Really, the sterling silver bell is something else. It doesn't get as 'warm' a sound as some other materials, but I do think it carries very well. Penetrates might not be the ideal term, but that's what I think. I'd live to have one in brass sometime, just to see the difference.
Isn't that the truth? Every other week I find myself saying, 'I've got a rreeaaalllyyy wonderful trumpet here...'. Sometimes I wonder; am I too easily satisfied? Frankly, I may not be the most discerning, but there are many, many top quality trumpets in the US, and I must say I've had far more than my fair share of them. :) Always good to hear from you. :)
100%. I have a friend in Canada that sent me (online) a piece of music for a lesson and asked if I could play it for her. I looked at it for about 10 seconds and said, 'Yeah, if you give me a couple of weeks'. :) I do use excercise books and read the music there. But I've played mostly by ear my whole life - I'm much better by ear than reading music. Good question! :)
@@JonathanMilam1 //I've played mostly by ear my whole life - I'm much better by ear than reading music// Good to know. I have been working on and off learning to play by ear. I have been told the way to do it is by playing one song in all the keys (day 1) Then on day 2, play another song in all the keys. And so on for a month. Then the next month repeat, but add a new song every day. So on day 1 the second month, you will play the song you played 30 days ago, but add a new one (in all the keys) My problem is I have ADHD and get things mixed up in making the fingering charts to begin with. So here is my idea for you to expand your RUclips channel. You be the teacher. Start with Amazing Grace (no copywrite to worry about) and play it in all the keys. Include the fingering. The next video could be the second most popular hymn and so on. Just an idea, but I know it is too much work. But someday you will retire and think of how what you should do with all your free time. :-) This what friends are for. Overload your friend with ideas and work.
Hi J can you make video! " how i know if i play too big mouthpiece"!? Or "how i know if i play too small mouthpiece" !? Do i need support of the cheek mussles or just the power of my lips ?
I'm not on here often but have been looking for a Vintage One .These horns have been off the market for quite a few years now. My question is, is it new and, is it for sale? Thanks for you time. Sounding good Sir.. I also have several trumpets and would be happy to discuss a trade. PEACE!
This trumpet is not new, it had one owner before me. He played it very little, as have I. It's in incredible shape. I think the gold-plating is a bit initimidating to both of us... So we simply haven't played it much. It yields a gorgeous, strong tone; it's a great trumpet. Most everything I have is for sale or trade. I've only had this one for a few weeks though. :)
Chris, thank you. About 5 seconds in, I started thinking. 'Bad idea, really a bad idea!!' and I started getting shaky. :) Beautiful song, but all long tones. I usually wimp out on easy jingles, but I think this is a good representation for those who are looking for an instrument that'll fit for legit stuff, so I'll try to utilize this style some. On my next vid (I think I made 4 today), I used a phrase from Ave Maria; some type demo. Again, thanks for your comment.
Kilenth; I appreciate you letting me know. I'm probably not interested, but I'm always curious about price? Let me know and I'll mention it to some friends that are also horn buyers.

So today you have a wonderful trumpet. I don't know, but it seems like all you have are wonderful trumpets. :-). Inspiring and informative as always.

do you learn all the jingles you typically play in your videos by ear?

Great sound especially on the Lord’s Prayer
