I hate that CSX got rid of these legendary engines! I used to watch these when they first came out as a kid in 2001. Very sad, while CSX SD-40s are older and continue to run forever.

Man I noticed a lot of SD40s are around longer then some of these other units out here

The SD40s were more reliable, so they were used longer. The AC6000’s had problems with their traction motors, or whatever they are called a lot, so CSX sold all but 3 of them. The three remaining ones have just been rotting away in storage ever since.
