DF investing fully into crit clicks but not increasing the base amount gained is sending me... if you make 3x the base amount, you crit for 3x as much too!!

Not quite. It's actually a much smaller conversion rate to upgrade crit further than base. If your base damage is 600% what it normally is but your crit is only a 2.5x multiplier it's far weaker than 300% base damage with 5x crit. The higher the crit number the less you need to increase base damage for bigger numbers

Ngl I got spoiled with the 2hr+ df videos.. also when it comes to probabilities something like 10% crit chance in theory is 1 out of 10 but it does not actually mean you need to fire 10 times for 1 to be a crit, every individual shot has a 10% chance of being a critical hit meaning if you're lucky enough multiple shots in a row can be a critical hit if you happen to fall in that 10% range (as an example)
