The Mk18 (sssssshhh it was a secret) was built for anti submarine/shipping strikes but latter augmented/replaced by under wing rockets. Firing solid shot only one recorded air kill was ever noted using the 6lb gun, a Ju88 one round removed the engine from the wing.

@@bennypacheco9064 This.... The germans have the B-1, B-2 and JU-88 to counter anyone in a brit AA tank camping spawn. Brits haven't had a counter for camping german AA tanks because of how bad the Blenheims bomber loadout is.
It's a good counter against german aircraft so deal with it instead of asking for a nerf

To all players,grind and unlock the 4000lb bomb. It is beyond worth it. My first match after unlocking the 4000lb bomb, I had 23 kills and 1 death. Nothing like diving on a enemy position,dropping this monstrosity and getting 1-8 kills. It’s crazy

Play WarThunder and you can out-turn any of these heavy planes in a normal fighter... The disadvantage is their turrets. Those things can rip you to shreds if you aren't careful.
The Mk18 or Tsetse Mosquito did indeed mount this modified 6lb anti tank gun (57mm), designed by a cigarette vending machine company. A 24 round clip could feed rounds to this gun at just over 1 round a second fact. The gun was pretty big plus they had to add Armour to the nose, cockpit and engine for anti shipping/submarine work. So also carrying a 4000lb "Cookie", essentially a barrel of Amatol is a fantasy. Armament was 4x 303 Browning machine guns and the 6lb "auto cannon" with 23 rounds loaded not 24. Principle targets were U-Boats/Shipping, it was eventually phased out by Mosquito's carrying 8x rockets with either 60lb HiX or 24lb AT heads, plus 4x Browning 303's, 4x 20mm Hispano Cannons and 250lbs of dumb bombs...more fire power than the broadside of a Cruiser. One of the fastest planes of WW2 it clocked over 425Mph on it's test flight, 30 Mph faster than the spitfire. And carried out some of the most insane bombing raids in History... such as down a main street in Oslo at lamp post height to put bombs through the doors of Gestapo head Quarters using only sight.

JohnnyMaczeta the mosquito can kill the stukka just as easily, just depends who gets on who’s ass first, I’d say the stukka has a small advantage in being able to turn better, but the killing potential of the mosquito is amazing.
@@lostcoastfire1271 I agree, but stuka is far more reliable. One quick accurate burst from 37mms and mosquito is ALWAYS dead. Today I had situation where I scored 5 or 6 accurate hits on JU 87 for 8 dmg each while we were flying in straight line, so he was a perfect target only 7th hit dealt 86dmg and blow him up, but on the other hand 30 seconds later I did shot down JU 88 with 2 shots in a matter of 2 seconds so basically with this gun is like throwing a dice.
the V1 has a 850 kg (1,870 lb) payload.
The V-1 wasn't nearly as powerful as in BF5. The V-2 however had a greatly improved explosive power because of its speed of over Mach 2 (twice the speed of sound). Surprisingly, the speed mattered much more than the explosive payload.

I find it overpowered. Mosquito can out-turn BF109's and Stukas AND kill every land vehicle there is too easily. AA just tickles it. Nerf is needed...
Fun fact: The mosquito is made out of plywood and is undetectable by radar, and was highly used for bombing missions during WWII on German airfields. It was also operated by two people.
i remember one time when i was playing on, i think twisted steel or panzerstorm, i was just running around at some objective when i distinctly remember a 4000 pound bomb landing about 10 feet away and annialating me
i have to agree with Niccaman. If the enemy is flying the bomber and ignoring you, why shoot them down? They are not a threat to you. Shooting them down on the other hand could lead a the enemy using a more threatening plane.
limberg2005 you shoot them down to save your teams infantry from being recked. But from the pilot only standpoint I agree.

I got kamikazed 4 times today on panzerstorm...detail: i was a mosquito and the guys with spitfires just wanted to ram... They could easily outurn and kill me, But it needs hands apparently

The mosquito should be up to the task of going head to head with Stuka & 109. Mosquito has a major speed advantage & the wooden frame had advantages over metal. Oh wait BF is not in any way historically accurate.

I have the worst luck in the planet, everytime(actually not so often) i can spawn the new mosquito, there's always a flakpanzer and a bf109 professional pilot... and the mosquito cant dogfighr at all, and at level 0 you also cant 1v1 a flakpanzer... By the time I can reach level 4, Dice probably already nerfed it :(

Here's some tips man. Stay to the outside.. Spot your target before your strike.. Don't be afraid to shoot infantry a main gun.. Most kills first two love might be mostly pilots

If you've never been in a jeep, and a plane with one of those guns just straight up one-taps you, you are missing out.
Its awesome seeing a orange lazerbolt of death zoom to your jeep, then they do a sick flyover like 20 feet above the ground.

With a 1000 kilo, there were 3 heavy tanks on the crest of the hill sniping an objective so I dropped it, but I was too low and I got all 3, but the blast radius messed up my wing and accidentally rammed into 3 scouts.
That looks so freaking awesome... The graphics and the details are amazing... Looks like a lot of fun to play...

I wish planes and tanks were more realistic. Like the rate of fire of the tanks and planes. Also it would be cool if tanks could bounce shells from other tanks and at guns at the right angle and armor. And it's weird that planes can fly so slow and pull infinity g's.
Play war thunder if you want a more realistic experience for vehicles

I go head to head with aa tanks with the ju88. Its 100% possible
The only planes that can't 1v1 MAA are the fighters, but even they can put out some serious hurt if the pilot knows what (s)he is doing. Well, except the Bf-109's, they don't get anything that can actually really hurt armor, just their little 40kg bombs that barely even tickle. Spitfires get those 250lb bombs though, those'll eat 80% of a MAA in one pass without even needing to hit directly.
Never actually tried a heavy bomber against MAA, never really had a chance to be on either end, but I can only imagine they can practically 1HK them. The one Blenheim get 4 of the same 250s as the Spitfire, while the other gets the ability to drop the same AT mines I use to great effect in my Stuka. The JU-88 starts with 4 of the same bombs the Stukas start with (~54 dmg each with a guaranteed disable)

There isn't enough AA guns on the map so people actually have to spawn AA vehicles, there's also no other way outside of AA for infantry to deal with the bomb spamming aircraft turds in the sky.
One year later, I played 6pr mosquito finally. After the update 6.6, mosquito with 4000 pound bomb is far more better than two other bombers. One 4000 pound bomb can instantly explode any type of German panzer if ur accurate

The explosive mass yes the v1 has less but it's the velosity that devastates because it burrows into the ground a little then explodes

I can see people just lobbing the 4,000lb'er into common enemy positions and making sure they drop one on every pass because they may as well, and getting kills that way.

They will almost definitely nerf its Rpm and damage. It hits harder than the 6pdr on the valentine
Not really? The Valentine's 6pdr will do 44 to a Tiger's turret and like 64 to the engine, so hitting 40's on MAA with location irrelevant actually means it isn't hitting nearly as hard.
The difference in RoF is explained by both the plane's description and the upgrade info, the Tsetse (Mosquito with 6pdr) has an autoloader, while the Valintine gets just a basic 6pdr _without_ an autoloader.

the mosquito was actually designed to fly in formations 10-20 ft off the ground. there was a mission where 9 mosquitos broke french resistance fighters out of a prison by precision bombing the walls while flying 15 ft most of the flight to avoid german radar

The original proposal for the V-1 Flying Bomb had designed it to carry a payload of 1000kg which is 2210lbm. Omegalul.
The huge V-2 rocket had a 2200 lb. explosive payload, The smaller V-1 carried an 1800 lb. payload, sp Yes, the 4000 lb. payload is roughly double that number!
PS - I live here in the Southeastern US, so to hear an English bloke use the term "ain't" is quite unique!!!

I’ve noticed that explosives in BFV don’t register half the time. I like to use the Churchill Howitzer, and I’ve hit people square in the body with it. And they walked away. Dice pls
The tank Canon sometimes doesn't connect when you shoot a plane, I've shot so many planes with it and I see it hit and explode but it does zero damage. I'd day 4/10 hits actually do damage.

The 4000 pound bomb is a little less than 50% the size of the V1, however technically the 4000 pound bomb takes the cake when it comes to raw power. Neither are anything like the Grand Slam though, just a casual 22,000 pounds of explosion
Time for the other side to get a Henschel 129 mit 7.5cm cannon....a He219 with Schrag muzik would do.
next week the germans will also have the Ju88-C so maybe they will use that instead of bothering the mosquitoes with fighters and stukkas

after just unlocking the monster cannons on the B2, my first "kill" was a Mosquito, he rammed me, I survived, he didn't. I've actually gone left side (sax exhaust, hisps and radar) with the new Mosquito, about another 3k xp to lev4 before I can try out the 6pdr cannon and the 4klbs bomb. Also, not really OP because once you get anything on your tail (without the sax exhaust) you're pretty much toast, air to air I'd say considerably weaker than the B2 with it's 37mm and passenger seat machine gun

I just wanna say, I love that you keep Camera Roll on, as I prefer it yet I see alotta RUclips pilots turn it off. Mad respect. Also, props to earning the new Mosquito. I saw it as the challenge and figured nahhh, I'll just let Niccaman show me how its done! If you weren't on PC I'd be your Spitfire wingman anytime on PS4 or Xbox...
This thing is just super op. Why would I choose the Blenhem or the other mosquito, if the mark6 can do everything better ^^
