      Bigger companies( stock listed) can't fool the revenue so please anyone who are interested in Kpop industry, aim for those companies. They have to use the "standard contract"(which was approved by fair trade commission) and most of them don't charge for the training even after debut( and some help trainees to get a job or send them to other big companies for the debut . Big companies pay for your house, transportation fees, and some allowance)

      If she's not accustomed, then go back to where she was born. If she feels comfortable in korea, but doesnt wanna go through all those treatments, just become an analyst in whatever firm.

      @@babyaskin9881 ya that's why I sometimes find it pretty scary fr what goes on in Korea and it's Soo different from the Western world. Like not only in the entertainment industry , the normal people there go through surgeries to change their own self to escape criticism and to match the society ideologies . In rest of the parts of the world we can't fancy such a huge number common people doing plastic surgeries . And I saw in several interviews " really thin" girls in Korea think that they are fat or the People call them fat so they go through an extreme diet and stuffs, but these girls if they go to some other country they will be considered perfectly shaped. And talking about idols it's really intimidating sometimes. Ive heard of fans calling out their idols if they have gained even a little amt of weight which is really unnoticeable . And thankfully that some of them have a huge number of global fans know who come in defence of the idols and bash those rude criticisms. It's really unhealthy. And as u were saying ...no it's not exactly the same in the entertainment industry other parts of
      the world , we see diverse looking artists who look different and are not that critised fr their weight or their nose etc . Like take for example Rihanna I'm sure she would also be forced to go through plastic surgery under peer pressure if she was in Korean entertainment 😂 because they don't acknowledge diversity right?

Jihyo trained for 10 years, best singer in the group, leader, very expressive and energetic on stage....still got a lot of hate for many years. She lost weight but still only in the middle when it comes to popularity. Danielle Dixon That is only the first, small hurdle. Her pronunciation and voice are things that can be improved with effective training and practice. Her skin color and race however cannot. Unfortunately, those are the two things that would prevent her from being able to succeed in the k-pop industry. There are many foreign idols who do not sing well or are not completely fluent in Korean yet they are still in successful groups. The key is that they are still East/SE Asian and either already fit, or can be easily molded to fit, Korean beauty standards, thus Korean society more or less are willing to accept them.

      Yup.. an industry that wholesale rips off black music & style but doesn’t see black people as human beings worthy of respect.

      Tbh any person that isn't korean shouldn't try. It's an extremely racist business. Though K pop is also like a form of slavery especially depending on which company you got into.

      Girl, same. I don't get it. I don't understand why any black person would even like their culture, when they hate black people. Ofc, unless their unaware and/or just don't care.

    She's like crazy brave. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to try a debut in a place where you're not seen as a beauty ideal. Kudos to her for being a badass and following her heart no matter what!

    She's like the person I'm gonna stan forever in a band or solo. Music companies don't realise most of the time that inclusion of culture actually gives the bands more exposure therefore more popularity

    Absolutely do not understand how a foreigner, especially a black person, would want to be an idol in Korea. I use to live in Korea and I would NEVER.

    Being called pretty and getting your entire race dissed in the process is not a compliment... they don't repect your origin, they'll never respect you. You're a stunningly beautiful woman and well versed with your passion, please don't let their remarks affect what you think of yourself.
    Also, your brain needs your head just the way it was made, please don't consider changing the shape of your head!

      @user-zg6nl7nu4w 4 года назад +8

      redveluv i don't think you understand my point, she was treated unfairly when she was a trainee and my comment simply recognizing her beauty and her talent, i didn't force her to move back to the states i was referring to her experience when she was a trainee, and in which line did i call her useless? i literally gave a compliment to her, you need to calm down and read something multiple times before accusing someone just because you don't have the same understanding or point of view as them, the world doesn't revolve around you honey.

      @user-zg6nl7nu4w 4 года назад +4

      redveluv oh and i'm glad that she's doing great now but in this particular video she didn't really talk about her current activities, she focused more about her days as a trainee, i checked her youtube channel and instagram and i'm happy that she's doing better and still trying to reach her dream but again my comment is referring to her trainee day (which is the FOCUS of this video) not her current situation, everything has context in case you forgot.
