@Gordon Payne There is no such thing as 'talking white'. What you are saying is considered toxic colorism. Just because they are highly educated and have good pronunciations of words, does not mean they are any less black. This is yet another reason why there is black on black prejudices, colorism, and racism; is cause of people like you having messed up ideas in their heads that us as black people have to act a certain way or you consider us to be 'acting white'. Give me a break with that toxic mess. Every single black person is an individual with their own personality and their own way of how they like to speak. So stop with the toxic colorism. You are part of the problem.

@Gordon Payne That is a very common Southern African accent (more specifically private school accent). It may not sound "African" because to you because Southern Africans rarely participate in RUclips videos in general. That is why a lot of people associate Nigerian or Ghanian culture more strongly as African, we see them more often talking on African culture. So I don't blame you for thinking this way. But as a Southern African, I could tell immediately they were Southern African and probably South African (which they were).

Also should mention because I saw this in a different video, a foreigner thought a korean woman was being racist because she bumped shoulders with her very hard... that also happens in Korea too to koreans lol. Like everything else mentioned in the video is definitely stereotyping with bad intentions, but at least the personal space thing doesn't happen because koreans are racist. Koreans HEAVILY participate in black culture through music and style so you would think they would be a little more open. The likelihood that a problematic black person is going to come to korea and cause problems is slim to none. Black people are all over the world. There are American, African, Caribbean, European black people. All black people are not good at singing and dancing just like all of us are not the same shade of color. Black people come in all different shades, sizes, facial features, hair textures, etc. Some black people are loud and some black people are quiet. Some black people eat meat and some only eat plants. I think people don't take the time to look at black people as if we are human because people are occupied with being "fearful" of us. I will never understand or get why anyone would think that just because there are people with melanin in their skin that would make us less human. As a person that likes Korean culture, supports idols, and the music this video was very upsetting to watch for a few reasons. Placing black individuals in order to answer questions about OBVIOUS racist reasons and OBVIOUS experiences that we all know about isn't going nowhere if you continuously disregard adding subtitles. Most Korean people need to also understand the matters that are being discussed and need to acknowledge what's happening in their own country, it's not just other countries. Stop using black people as clickbait, views, in order to gain profit, or act like these types of videos are teaching everyone because not everyone speaks or understands English. If you want to actually "help" black people DO IT PROPERLY or RESPECTFULLY do it, otherwise don't help at all and DON'T GO around asking black people to be in your videos if you TRUELY DON'T WANT TO HELP.... it's that simple. What's also very upsetting is that you guys know all this deep down but choose to actively ignore and be careless to these sensitive issues on your channel. It's yet NOT educating the people that actually need education in regards to the racism in Korea apparently. Black people being HUMANS too or being treated equally is too difficult for most people, unfortunately, it's also "hard to understand" "it's irritating to advocate it" and "very tough to acknowledge these matters apparently". It's just even disturbing how ignorant some people are to these problems and sadder how it's soo normalised in many countries including Korea.

What sets Africans and Koreans apart is respect. While Africans are willing to be aporoachable and respectful, majority of Koreans have no respect for those who do not resemble their shade of color. If you are not aware or uneducated about a person culture its obvious you must not infiltrates their bubble or behave unethical. Making excuses such as "oh they don't know" or "oh their culture is different" is ignorant. These excuses give Koreans the power to continue with their behaviors. This by no means says these ladies don't have experiences that are a problem that needs fixing. These are also a lot of a issues all foreigner's of all colors experiences, I have naturally red hair and I'm a halfie, I've been warned that I might have a lot of problems when I move there and to consider dying my hair unless I like my hair being petted and even cut in crowds.
But I believe in general Koreans in Korea need to get themselves up to speed with cultures and people and not just education. Currently, the behavior as a whole almost seems like a deliberate ignorance. Time for people to grow.

no, Africa is a whole continent. As a black person myself I hate that I hate it so much. The girl in the black dress was very good at pointing out we have different personalities, we are all different individuals. It’s like saying European ppl are all loud. Just an example btw. That is a big generalisation lmao we all speak differently and have different origins and I’d like to be distinguished, but as a black person I guess I don’t have that right. Sometimes I wonder why simply the colour of my skin must cause me trouble, it’s not like I asked for it.

I liked this video very much because it gave black people a chance to express how it feels to be unfairly treated and judge by Koreans base on our skin color and also to express that no we we are NOT animals to be gaucked at, stared at, pointed at...and mistreated...I would watch videos where Koreans would say things like " I HEARD that black people this....I HEARD that black people that without knowing 100% for themselves if it's true or not...they'll just blindly go by what someone told them or what they HEARD just someone said it...and honestly there are alot of "Stereotypes" about Koreans that we know of but we don't buy into it..we don't lump ALL Koreans in one basket like Koreans tend to do us...we try to embrace Koreans and Korean culture while at the same time we're still being ostracized by Koreans for nothing more than our skin color and lies and misconceptions about us...unless we are a celebrity...that's what makes me feel some type of way...you of the majority of us are really good people.

It’s been a month since im in Korea and I can say that’s everything that I have been said is the reflection of the reality. I didn’t experienced any racism being here but I get pretty much get stared everyday. At first it’s was really weird but I think with the time I got used to it.
Actually I encountered a lot of elderly people and they were really nice to me they were saying « oh you’re so pretty ! » all the time and smile at me in metro/bus/ street.
Sometimes they are curious and ask a lot of questions...
Once of them touched my hair once without asking...
And the part about being considered as beautiful as Perry said take an important role of how they’re going to act with u i think. They judge a lot by the look. ( not everyone of course)
And also I encountered french people (a family) they we’re white and they told me that koreans people were really cold to them.
The girl even told me that a korean man said she had a weird face and seemed stupid.
I just hope more black people come in Korea in the future and have their own experience.
To be honest it’s was not easy for me as a introvert at first. I was really scared of coming in South Korea after what people reported.
But I was actually really surprised when I arrived in Korea with my mom.
People were so nice and welcoming to us.
I didn’t excepted that. I was kinda of chocked.
So for now Korea has been good to me and I’ve gained confidence since im here.
I just hope that’s in couple of years Korea will be more open about foreigners and especially black people.
(english isn’t my first language so sorry for my potential mistakes ^^)

I mean this is a common experience for any country that isn't familiar with foreign visitors. Korea has never been a desired country to live in until the Hallyu wave, many old people have never seen foreigners. With time Korea will be a good tourist destination, but they have better things to focus on like the threat of North Korea. Foreigners are treated badly because of the USA Military, some would always rape women, start fights and wreck places and get away with their crimes - this is where anti- foreigners sentiment has come in from (the USA military now has a curfew) this has been going on for many years since the Korean War. I don't blame them, but with time Koreans will open up
