(ENG SUB) Legendary Kpop Idols exposing the harsh industry and what it did to them/ those around them. Girls' Generations Tiffany Young, Mamamoo Hwasa, Soloist Ailee, Wonder girls Sunmi, FX Amber and many more open up.
In hwasa's words
" if I dont fit in this generation's standards of beauty, then I will set my own standard"
Yes my queen hwasa💖👑
She’s my inspiration.
AMEN. PEEEEERIOODDD
Whatta babe. Hwasa is such a babe. Fight me karens.
And she deserves to rule 💕
that guy who told sulli to lose weight is honestly just disgusting.
DEADASS
k. anyone who tells anyone to lose weight (unless its for medical reasons) is disgusting tbh
I want to punch his face 😤
him saying that it’s *his standard* disgusts me. like, boo, no one cares about your standards.
Yes what does he want 😤does he want her to have only bones it's so disgusting
Let's face it... None of these idols are overweight or obese
@•Happy• •Blank• They weren't overweight/obese and still aren't.
That’s so crazy to me like 110 pounds and ppl tell you you’re fat wtfffff like sis
@@khiasvlogs1127 I had to convert that to kgs but yes.... a 110 pounds is nowhere near fat and depending on your height it might even be underweight.
Saaliha Sadiq that’s the thing that’s so crazy to me like these girls are skinny and they try to get skinner and starving themselves they will never be able to perform at thier best that makes me sad cause now I worry about the girls of bp
@@khiasvlogs1127 I hate how the industry forces idols who are perfectly healthy to lose weight through dangerous methods. There's a difference between maintaining a healthy weight through diet and exercise and having to starve. The worst part is other Koreans look up to these idols and follow the same. Toxic diet culture needs to stop.
“I want to be a mother”, people took her last wish

Go ahead, Hwasa!!
Literally still so skinny. This is crazy how K-pop standards are.

"Those are my standarts"
Sorry man but us women are not an object and we're nobodys standart. Period.
I wish Amber would say this to the guy, "Did you check yourself in the mirror before you left the house? From MY standard, you look like a rotten apple"..
sorry but i had to say this, that man aren't even good looking and he had the audacity- like??
I doubt nobody would even want to be his standard.
I hate that when a guy commenting about my appearance, i mean my life is not to be presented to him lmao
And he's too ugly to comment such thing (if we're talking visually here)
What’s crazy is that Hwasa is actually around 98-108 pounds which is the weight for her height. She just has thicker Hips and thighs which is natural for her. I hate these Kpop industry standards like when they are too “fat” they are told to lose weight but then when they become skinny and underweight they are told “oh you are too skinny gain some weight”. It’s weird to me the way they criticize idols. But it’s Korea’s standards.
Yeah I totally agree! Like - I'm 12 years old, average height and around the same weight and have been called "curvy" by my parents and grandparents my whole life 😂
Oh my- I was 108 when I was ten this is toxic
It happens because they see some fat in some areas they don’t want and when she loses more fat, some areas she should have fat in loses that, too. I know this as I have the same problem. For example I have fat in my arms and little bit of pouch, but not enough fat in my calves. What happened is, I tried to change that going into plastic surgery and ruined my beautiful body. Now I’m depressed and hate myself even more.
I can't imagine being 50 pounds lighter than I am currently and people telling me I look fat???
She does?? I am African, she looks stick thin to me and that should not affect her career is she is talented
*Queen Hwasa once said: **_If I don't fit the beauty standards, I'll set my own standards._*
And that’s on period
Yesssss 🖐🏽❤️
But on what planet is she considered "heavy" tho?
And yeah she really does
@@kalebh3419 exactly omg. She is not even 'heavy'. Just has more curves. I would still term her as 'thin' 😶

We dont know what the thing happen behind the camera
Remember when on Sixteen after she was put into minor group for looking too heavy in the photo shoot challenge she came came back the next week and sang "All About that Bass"?
Jihyo's pretty thin now and I hope it's because she's healthy and happy but, she's always had that savage confidence. :)

Honestly I am so gay for her. She is amazing in so many ways
unless they plan to discriminate and oust girls who don't fit the standard, there won't be one standard
QUEEN
Hwasa also said "It's ok to not be fine"...... Gogobebe!
Ailee’s situation is so heartbreaking!!! 😭 she was just trying to pursue her passion which is singing but the toxic and judgmental people won’t just let her!
I'm starting to believe that she might've been better off pursuing her singing career in the US. At least people in the US aren't as judgmental about appearances compared to South Korea. If I were to become a pro singer, South Korea would definitely be the last place I would go to do that tbh.
@@TC-ve9rn If what you are saying is true, how many Asian American singers do you know from US? And, why do you think Asian Americans have to go to S Korea to become well known singer, instead of become a singer in US? Why do you think there are no Asian American singers, when we watch billboard, Grammy, or any rewards? BTS is not Asian Americans.
Allow me to ask you a question. Ailee became a singer, because of her singing skills and, plus her looks. If it wasn't for her looks, she might not gotten her opportunity. If a singing is an only qualification, there are many people who can sing better than Aliee. Aliee got her shot because, of her looks and her singing skills. Then, why complain? This doesn't make sense to me, can you explain? i can see an argument that many talented and better singers compare to Aliee, if they complain that Aliee got her shot because of her looks.
@@warriorforgod5949 There aren't a lot of people that can sing better than Ailee lol. Maybe some but definitely not a lot.
@@warriorforgod5949 Because there aren't a lot of Asian Americans that want to become singers to begin with lol. Most of them pursue a career in a more practical field in big tech corporations like Amazon, Facebook, Google, and so forth or in the medical field where they can be guaranteed job stability. An Asian American mindset in general is very much focused on practicality, money, and job security rather than passion whereas for the other Americans, they are encouraged to just do whatever that interest them the most.
"you need to be thin". when they became thin, "oh you are too thin". WTH people
Yeah its the same with my hk family. Being a girl whos supposed to be the older cousin, even tho im not asian standard of chubby and fit well within "normal" size, they actually told me im too muscular/toned because i wrestle and dance

Standards of the market.
The biggest reason companies tend to try to get the palest, skinniest cutest idols they could get idol-ready, is because it helps sell products. Cant claim that a products whitens skin if the girl doesnt have that smooth cream complexion or good skin.
It's the same with why girls shave their legs now even though we didn't before. Companies wanted/needed more money. When you need more, you advertise and make a trend. Some trends just stuck. (Not that I hate shaving. Nothing feels better than smooth legs) More like it's weird that we make fun of each other for stuff like that.
If you look deep enough into most things we believe, someone out there is profiting from it.
Yeah and imagine if she turned it around on him for his teeth... She'd be crucified

When Sunmi said “ I’m a person “.. It gave me chills. Please everyone, just be kind to one another.
Korean beauty standard is only toxic for foreigners who don't meet it. Every country has their own culture which goes way deeper than your average understanding, if you (or anyone) can't respect that then you better shut your lips.
It's sad Sunmi had to even remind everyone she is a human too with human feelings T.T

i feel so bad for f(x) to be honest. Every single member is hated so much for their own reasons. Amber is hated for being a tomboy, Krystal is hated for being too chubby and fat shamed, Victoria is hated for being chinese and also she was once fat shamed so she lost a LOT of weight, Luna literally starved herself to death and sadly Sulli was also fat shamed and hated so bad that she couldn't take it anymore. clearly that's not the case in SK... it's sad but true... we hate to admit. having a great talent or skill here is good but if you meet these so called "standards", then you're in another level... you have to understand, the competition here is crazy that's why more and more people are listening to Jessi Hwasa CL among the few
Ikr! Her voice is so different from most of the female idols and very attractive to listen. I would love to listen her.
Thank goodness, she joined the l1ve, and she is doing great!
I really liked that you included sunni and thin shaming too, its often overlooked
I really hate slim shaming. People say fat shaming is bad, but that does NOT mean slim shaming is ok.
Shaming anyone for the way their body looks is gross because they have no control over that
@miko yah cause thin people absolutely don't get insulted, shit on or insecure 🤙 and you do realize that models are thin because what they wear is a sample size so they're going to want to sped less fabric possible on it
miko I have a cousin who is just naturally very skinny and her family is always telling her “your so skinny you are just gonna fly away some day hahaha” “your so skinny does your mom even feed you hahaha” she doesn’t have the ass everyone wants so she gets shamed for that by kids at school and she is very insecure about all this because there is nothing she can do about it because of her wicked fast metabolism so yes skinny people do get body shamed and insecure just because you don’t see it happen often doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist

He said that it’s his standard. When he looks like a rotted potato. Standard my foot😂
He said it's "his standard". Like i can say I'd like her having bigger eyes or short hair, but is that a mean comment too?
if he has to say something negative about her, he is not her fan and she doesnt have to abide by his standards. He should just look elsewhere, there might be a girl somewhere in the world who would die to be 5'2" and be 75lbs, but she won't be as beautiful as she should be at a good weight for her body.
But even if he was a star himself, the most handsome person on the planet and all, he'd still have no right to say that, I hate people like him so much
Remember when a fan asked Hwasa about the best diet and Hwasa answered just eat, Hwasa set an exemple for refusing to conform to their unhealthy and toxic standards they maybe hurt her and still do but she refused to break down and made those who criticized her and hated on her look ridiculous when she became one of the most requested female idols for cfs and her billboards are everywhere in Korea, she's shaking their clappy beauty standards that's an exemple of a strong woman

armyjams but Ailee is sexy while cute at the same time
i hope Ailee can somehow be famous around the US... the perception of beauty in the US is much more diverse in my opinion compared to SK...
She is trying to make it in the states now so hopefully 🙏
D joy .Not on your opinion is true.people in south korea always think that they live in a barbie world.
Maybe, but america doesnt have a diverse amount of asian artists. I think they are kinda... Racist with asian artists. Not only singers but also actors.
The problem is, most Koreans aren’t even close to reaching their own beauty standards that they force idols to have. Unless they themselves have achieved those standards, I don’t think they should get to decide how idols should look like. And here’s the thing, they haven’t. The country isn’t filled with beautiful or perfect people, they’re regular like everyone else on the planet.
US is more diverse in terms of body shapes but do you know any Asian American singer who is mainstream popular? Or actor? Americans are still not open to Asians. Even BTS is still not fully embraced there.

Literally Ailee and Tiffany weren’t “chubby” or “fat”, you can see it in the fan and, their bone structure is different than the ideal standard. A wider expansive ribcage and wider shoulders or hips can sometimes make the body seem slightly rectangular, they were both perfectly normal. Most aquarius, gemini, taurus women have rectangular shaped, masculinish or if you want be a little feminive then curvy body bone structure
its so sad because in other countries they'd be considered thin or normal at that size.
It’s why Tiffany is doing so well in the US now. Not only is she allowed creative independence, but she is free to do whatever she wants with her body. She’s got curves that are heavily sought after, especially in Western countries. And now she’s embracing all of that. Yeah, I barely watch any of the videos of Kpop. I listen to it because I like the music, and the few times I do watch the video it's because I love the choreography and their chemistry. It's got nothing to do with their bodies.
Kpop artists are not specifically portrayed as only musicians. They were made to portray perfection in the young generations eyes. Regardless of how companies represent them as, it's mainly the fans and people in Korea that needs to set their standards in a realistic level. Yes it's their job to act a way and look a way, but their human too and before being portrayed as an idol they should be portrayed as human first.
Not only the company but Also the people treat Idols like products. This industry must fall. its so bad and hurtful for fucks sake.
Yoshita Singh Raghuvanshi Yeah I really want to punch the faces of these Possessive Toxic Fans if only if I know them....
Tbh I think this idol culture is toxic. What they do is basically just putting a barbie doll in front of the public. And the public buy it, its better nowadays but its hard for them to express themselves musically, many of them learned how to sing how to dance how to look but not how to compose music, I'm sorry to say but a lot of famous group now are only making so called "fast food music" it's like after the promotion over prob won't go back to listen the song. Don't come after me but sometimes some people just doesn't have the musical talent to carry their career on without the company supporting them. And also the tbh the celebrities also treats their fans like they are their girlfriend which later on their career came crashing down after dating scandals and etc. But people who are into western music culture likes the song for the song itself. There's a lot who actually broke the law(drug issues, sexual harassment cases etc) are still accepted by the public as long as the music is good. I wish for a good environment somewhere between these 2

As an American, I think Ailee is gorgeous and visibly thrives when she’s at a healthy weight. Hwasa is STUNNING and actually pretty skinny to me. You can see by her waist size and high energy that she’s actually in really good shape. Both Ailee and Hwasa can sing to the gods. Lisa and Rosé are skinny legends who are incredibly beautiful and talented dancers that are perfect just the way they are. They are healthy and are also in great shape which you can easily see by their performance level. Can we stop paying attention to appearance and just appreciate the talent they are serving us?

I love Lisa and Rose as well but I'm sorry to say that they are SEVERELY underweight. 😔
@@uwu-fm2kj I see why Lisa, who is a dancer and also looks the fidgety-ever-active type, would be skinny both by conscious choice and moving a lot. @@isam1542 take this with a grain of salt since its obviously anecdotal but, as someone who comes from a 'naturaly' skinny family full of athletes both Lisa and rose despite they're active lifestyle are not at the weight they are naturally. But her height is around the same height or taller than Sulli, and is only freaking 47kg! When I watched it, if I can only slap that guy's face from the screen, I would do it.
Then I was really impressed on how composed Amber and Sulli was after that guy body shamed Sulli. But yeah.. Amber and the rest of f(x) together with the hosts and the audience made a deal with the jerk that if the girl received more than hundred votes from them he will stop calling her fat, and would zip his mouth. And the jerk is over confident that her sister won't even get 50 votes. Then the hosts said "We'll see." Then the vote came out and it has an almost perfect vote. But yeah, Amber almost punched the guy if she's not professional.

i mean look at rosé at this point you can practically see all of her bones it's not healthy and ion know if yg just puts the girls on diets or something but like its not healthy to see idols go through this type of stuff because they get bullied for their weight and than feel like they have to lose it just so the people will treat them better
All my friends was saying I'm unhealthy because I'm too skinny
Cause I was 45 kg and 170 cm
Rachel Sheefan i’m sorry but you have to find new friends :/ 170 cm with 45 kg is good! You have height, 45 isn’t much for your height. I’m 164 and 53 kg. But i look healthy. I’m not chubby, but i have thick bones. Forget about your friends. You’re superrrr healthy! And i bet you look beautiful 🥰💞
@@disanabjan Thank you, everyone is beautiful
A compilation of Queens taking charge and not putting up with the Toxic crap anymore! Life can be so harsh for Idols, thee has to be a better way to help them stay slim without starving, normal weights can still be pretty and look skinny.
Thank you for this amazing yet sad compilation
But how many kg they want maby 50 right?
@@ahugek-popfan4046 that's not even the point of the video let alone that there shouldn't even be a weight expectation of idols
@@Tiffany-ov2jf i am just asking i didn't mean anything bad tho
The thing is that some of these "fans" tell their idols to lose weight and look thin. For example Sulli but then some of them body sham Blackpink's Rose and Lisa cause they are thin and tell them to gain weight. But I'm confused, you wanted Sulli to lose some weight but isn't Rose's and Lisa's bodies the type of body you want Sulli to have but you want rose and Lisa to gain weight? I'm so confused like....imagine some one keeps bullying you for your weight and you couldn't take it anymore and take you own life. All I need to say is that some people are idiotic freaks.
