I don't think enough people realize Draiman's talent. Everyone says "he has a distinct voice" which is true but this song in particular is absurdly difficult to sing. It's already difficult just in terms of hitting the right notes. Add in the timbre changes and again, it's just absurd. I was talking with a friend the other day and he pointed out that in terms of instrumentation, Disturbed is basically a power trio. Drummer, bassist, and one guitarist. True, but Draiman's voice is really an additional instrument. This band is just nuts.

Agree 1000%....I and many vocal coaches I know have heard many, many singers in their lifetimes, and they all say the exact same thing. David's voice is so damn unique....it's like another instrument......and he can change it on a dime, in SO MANY ways. It's actually unbelievable. I've had many say it's almost impossible to go through a lot of the changes that he can do. Awesome band.

I’ll admit at first I thought David’s vocals were ruining the amazing performance but as the song progressed the notes he was hitting was incredible. The very last “Be Immortalized” was insane. So glad that music like this still somewhat exists for my generation

@@EfecanYSL Bingo. You can’t sing with the gruff and screaming live if you’re on tour doing shows every night. Especially at his age. He did a great job, though he is using auto tune, but he honestly doesn’t need it.

Well yes I do agree he doesn't have as much power at live performances, I definitely cant disagree with that. However I still felt there was something special whenever I listened to live performances or Live at Red Rocks. I don't know just ignore me, I just really love Disturbed :3
Jonathan Zemel Are you fucking kidding me, man? His vocals live are absolutely stunning. I don't see a difference in what he sounded like live present day, compared to back in 2001. He does and will always have a voice of gold. David can't be compared to anyone vocally. He is in a genre all by himself.

Great band. They turned out to be so much more than a novelty act or a gimmick. Their style definitely stands out. Unique band in history. Definitely will be in the Hall of Fame. No question about it in my mind.

Indeed. At every show ive ever been to half the crowd has their phones out recording or taking pictures, most often on snapchat. Just enjoy the show....
I have no problem with taking a picture, but some are recording the whole show and don't watch it with their own eyes.

tough as fuck sound, wish more bands sounded this clean in live recordings who ever did it and did the editing of the sound deserves a medal xD
You guys need to understand that when he sings live, it's just his voice and his alone. This isn't the recording booth, where they can add effects and stuff to his voice for the album. He obviously can't mimic his EXACT vocal sounds from there.
You need to understand that not everyone is as naive as you because make no mistake, yes he can. He ABSOLUTELY can "mimic his EXACT vocals" live and I have heard it on several occasions. For whatever reason he simply chooses not to so during all live performances. I would dare guess that it is too detrimental to his voice. There is very little or no special effects used on his voice during studio production. It is there that he is using 100 percent of his vocal range.
Every year you grow older your voice changes, usually getting Deeper. His voice will never be what it was in 2001 or whatever, it`s impossible....Plus touring strains vocalists.... A lot of times they can not even talk after they are done with a show.

I listened to the original sound of silence and this popped up on the side.
Someone in the comment section said that he thought that Disturbed's cover was better. So i looked to the side and saw just that. Clicked on the video and thought it was great. then I found more music from him.
This is really good in my opinion.
I listen to a lot of music, and a lot of different music. But I got to say, The Eye Of The Stom and Immortalized is the best, most badass and coolest intro on an album I've ever heard! Gives me goosebumps every time! Saw them live with avenged, and it was so good!

Anybody else notice this video must be a mashup of different performances? David Draiman switches between three outfits (the short and long sleeve are especially noticable) throughout the video. Love this group but this is not video from a single performance.

IN THIS WORLD ONLY THE STRONG WILL SURVIVE
I have kind of the same baritone voice that David has, and i have no freaking idea of how he reach all those notes, i've tried to sing a lot of Disturbed songs and the easier album to cover for me is "Asylum", because of the low register David uses in this record, however the songs of the other records are just imposible, no matter how i breath, i always break mi voice in songs like: Prayer (the most difficult in my opinion).
