I have listened to this music everyday since the Hostages were kidnapped. I start my day with this and a prayer for the Hostages and their loved ones... Bring Them Home!

Let's all take a moment and give praise to the guy who comes out and plays the drums. He has to hit them perfectly, as the song really hinges on it right then...and he does it flawlessly. I think it would be nerve wracking to join in mid song, but he does it quite well!

"The Sound of Silence” comes to a close with a warning, pointedly calling out the all-consuming consumerism
and using those already lost to it as an example of what’s to come if we continue to find solace in the silence.
A new generation has been introduced to the iconic song, but they also may have missed out on its meaning,
one that is just as important if not more so today then it was six decades ago.
"The Sound of Silence" is and has been taking over everyday interactions in society. It's not often that we actually
speak to one another. We text, we email. we post on Social Media etc. etc. interactions become all the more
surface-level and indifference continues to grow.
    ~People talking without speaking
    ~People hearing without listening
~People writing songs that voices never share
    ~No one dared
    ~Disturb the sound of silence
I love his voice. He nailed it big time.
Paul Simon shared in an interview with Playboy :
I used to go off in the bathroom, because the bathroom had tiles, so it was a slight echo chamber.
I’d turn on the faucet so that water would run.... I like that sound, it’s very soothing to me and I’d play. In the dark.
~ Hello, darkness, my old friend
~ I’ve come to talk with you again
Simon pinned most of his songs in bathrooms.

Simon & Garfunkel's version was a request to people to unplug from technology, at that point TV. This version is pissed off people didn't listen to this plea. Look where we are now. There's only technology, no empathy or compassion for our brothers and sisters in this world.

You can tell the difference between this and the ‘Conan’ live version, except the Conan ‘live’ version used autotune which always snaps the notes to the correct level. So not really live was it, unlike this.

I don't care. That Conan live version is stunning and gorgeous. It will always be my favorite.
