-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.com/album/4Dao8y... - Кино
"Isn't She Lovely", written about his newborn daughter, is pure joy.
From Song in the Key of Life. Six minutes plus version
OMG. When I was pregnant with my second child, our pregnancy exercise class instructor played Isn’t She Lovely at every session. Can’t remember another song she used, but that one was special. I didn’t know I was having a girl, but I felt that I was. She was, and is, my grown up baby girl.
Been requesting that one for a couple of years now it seems like.
Great album cut. 4 singles from the album were released in the U.S. This wasn’t one of them. I’m sure it would’ve been a hit, but record companies often didn’t release certain hits to boost album sales. Great song!!!!
And in the same vein, A Little Ray of Sunshine by the Australian band Axiom, also about the songwriter's newborn daughter. At least the songwriter of A Little Ray of Sunshine could see his newborn daughter 😉
“For Once In My Life” is a must-listen. Great song with a great harmonica solo.
Great song. Sooo many.
Stevie was 17 YEARS OLD when he wrote this song! Bob Dylan, Paul Simon & Stevie Wonder.... in the twilight of their years, each of them. America’s greatest trio of songwriters. I hope you know how fortunate we were to have had them with us while we lived our lives.
Songs in the Key of Life. First Stevie record I ever bought. BRILLIANCE.
Great suggestion. I told the boys not to be intimidated by the length of “Songs in the Key of Life”. Listen to it over a 3 or 4-hour stretch. Take breaks. Review songs one by one, or whenever the mood hits you. Let it wash over you. It requires multiple listens anyway, so don’t be put off. It’s an artistic pinnacle.
S tier after S tier song.
I liked his album, Journey through he secret life of plants.
"You Are the Sunshine of my Life" is Stevie's best ballad.
I really like "Ribbon In the Sky" too.
I don't know, dude - Overjoyed is incredible.
@cletusbeauregard1972 yes Overjoyed is much better!
I love that song, right up there as a favorite of mine. He has many great ballads, as mentioned in the replies. I also really love Superwoman/Where Were You Last Summer. Just magical.
I disagree. Stevie's best ballad is the one you are listening to at the time.
"Ribbon in the Sky" is vastly under-appreciated. So romantic.
My absolute favorite Stevie Wonder song
This one, this one!
My favorite song.
Magical song.
It’s a beautiful song. My favorite Stevie song!
Would sing my baby daughter(s) to sleep with this song 20+ years ago. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Stevie, for the Wonder-ful Songs for the Key moments in Life. THIS IS AN S TIER SONG.
Totally with you. I associate it with my daughter, too. ❤️
This song gives me goosebumps, Stevie is one of the best singers in the world.
Glad you appreciate Stevie's chord wizardry. He's one of three grand masters of the pop-music chord progression in the last century, along with Antonio Carlos Jobim and Donald Fagen.
Do you remember Sinatra, Ella, and Jobim, in Sinatra's TV special: A man and his music. Very special in my house, and both parents were glued.
@@Michael-xk3sp I didn't know about that. I love Ella and Jobim, but I'm not really a huge Sinatra fan.
Burt Bacharach
I think Marvin Gaye should be considered.
There's a great bit from SNL where Eddie Murphy is trying to teach Stevie how to sing this song properly. It's really cool because all of a sudden Stevie starts singing the song perfectly and you get a real sense of his power and talent in that one brief moment.
2 geniuses at the top of their game. Stevie and Eddie!
Stevie Wonder is incredible. I was going to say this was my favorite, but then I realized that I have about 50 favorite Stevie Wonder songs.
All I can picture is Eddie Murphy singing this as Stevie on SNL
The musicians on this track are the Funk Brothers.. they played on nearly every hit to come out of Motown!
If You Really Love Me will have you tapping your toes and clapping your hands. If you want to hear what some consider one of the most beautiful songs ever written you need to react to Ribbon In The Sky. His piano playing is stellar.
YES!
I love the starting and stopping and changing of tempo all through the song.
Stevie was 19 when this was a hit his voice had matured and he was on the cusp of making adult music and the rest is history.
Stevie could do no wrong from 1966 to 1976. You could review any hit single. Hard to say which Stevie single to review next. Probably “Higher Ground” or “You Haven’t Done Nothing.”
I could listen to Stevie sing La La La ALL day long! Such a treasure. Lovely song reminds me of "Michelle, ma belle."
Can't go wrong with Stevie Wonder. Yes he's poetic. Blind since birth
Another beautiful goosebumps song from Stevie is called : "Lately". Tooo beautiful!
Stevie Wonder’s “Lately” and “Overjoyed” are two of the most beautiful ballads you’ll hear from anyone.
Beautiful!!
Stevie Wonder is the greatest R&B/Soul singer ever!
Stevie Wonder is just brilliant. Back in the days when I couldn’t afford to buy many albums, I found it in my budget to buy several Stevie Wonder albums. “Songs in the Key of Life” is a masterpiece by every definition. This was the title track of his 1969 album and is just the essence of his great catalogue. 🌺✌️
Me too !! The feel of that swirly orange double album cover was sublime, and just a hint at the perfection in music that was inside .
Golden lady is another good one❤
I understand the rating 100%, but this is S-Tier for me personally. It takes me back to my childhood, and carries such warmth. I grew up in New York in the 70s and there was an oldies station my grandmother used to listen to, WCBS-FM, and the DJ's voices were drenched in reverb to give the feeling of late 50's and early 60's music. This song used to come on often back then, and it just brings me back to her kitchen and her warmth and her love (and I just broke down and cried remembering it all again). Anyway, thanks guys.
Right on Marco. Nothing like NY City in the 70s, FM radio playing real music, the best music..What a great time.. My mom listened to the same station.. as far as today's music, I don't know WTF happened. A Grammy winning artist today couldn't touch Stevie Wonder with a 10 foot pole. A masterpiece!
I'd be terrified to live in NY in the 70's. The 70's and 80's was not NY best moments.
@@muziklvr7776 maybe parts of NYC. Long Island was idyllic. I grew up there, and never worried about a thing. Rode my bike everywhere, my radio hanging from the handlebars, no helmet, no worries. Upstate was even more laidback.
Timeless early gem by Stevie. Wore this 45 out back in the day. And yes, the ladies loved it. Two other great sixties gems by Stevie...
"I Was Made to Love Her"
"There's a Place in the Sun"
The genius of Stevie & Motown just beautiful
Whenever Stevie Wonder dropped an album, he would Own the Grammys! Other artists who thought they may have had a shot at Winning, wouldn't even write an Acceptance Speech!
Stevie won Grammys for best album in 74, 75, and 77. Paul Simon won best album in 1976. In his speech, Paul wanted to thank Stevie Wonder for not putting out an album that year 😅
@@agoodday4pi I remember when that happened! You can't get a more sincere compliment than that! Especially from a legend like Paul Simon!
Boogie on reggae woman…funky af
OR…Fingerstips pt 2 where his prowess on the harmonica is showcased to the world at age 13
“ I was made to love her”
is another good Stevie
wonder song.
As a lyricist Stevie is to notch. His lyrics are very imaginative and beautiful.
My dudes. After this, you _need_ to hit "Never My Love" and "Cherish" by the Association!
YES to a “Songs in the Key of Life” livestream!!! Or reaction, or whatever you decide to do! To call it a masterpiece is not enough. It is canon. Also, for another sublime celestial song, check out “Under the Milky Way” by The Church. 🌌
@@Marco-jn8ri exactly! Which makes listening to it during a livestream perfect. They can take their time, take breaks as needed, not worry about editing, and just let it gloriously sink all in. The idea of watching them as they hear this epic body of work for the first time is exciting!
It's a great suggestion. I think I didn't realize exactly how relaxed a livestream can be. Let's keep our fingers crossed. @@allisonreed7682
@@Marco-jn8ri🤞
Another great early one would be I Was Made To Love Her. Starts with a Stevie harmonica part with that tone only he seems to have and just a brilliant vocal.
Very complex pop song. Beautiful too.
That is one of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs.
A Stevie Wonder album live stream??? YES YES YES!!! This is peak 60's Stevie!! You still should hear his breakout song, "Fingertips, Part 2", to hear the crazy growth from that (still a diamond) to this!!
Summer 1969 this and so many other great songs playing on the radio. I think you would like his “I Was Made To Love Her” from 1967.
“I Was Made To Love Her” & “For Once In My Life”. Just 2 of Stevie Wonder greats.
Mr Stevie Wonder just makes me Happy
Which album to choose is almost impossible.
Stevie had a run of albums that was pure genius, from Music of my Mind,to Talking Book to Innervisions to Songs in the Key of Life to Hotter than July,it’s all genius level music.
My favourite ever solo artist, love him, always have.
You skipped Journey Through "The Secret Life of Plants". That one was weird!
Innervisions is a tried and tested place to start. There are so many musical styles, and Stevie masters them effortlessly.
Fullfillingness’ First Finale.
Talking Book and Innervision stand above.
Songs in the Key of Life has the highlights but filler too.
@@leonardshevlin7260 Damn good filler though. Some of the songs may be a bit long. Certainly less filler than some other iconic double albums of the 70’s, e.g. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which is a great album with a few weak songs.
Another great early Stevie is his cover of “We Can Work It Out”. Not better necessarily, but more of a party vibe and great!!
I have never been able to decide who was the most consistent and talented singer songwriter- Stevie Wondér or Paul Simon.
Stevie's late 60's stuff is fantastic. I Was Made To Love Her, my favorite, Yesterme Yesteryou Yesterday, very powerful, passionate vocals, For One In My Life, just a bright, upbeat song with that killer harmonica solo. Probably missing a couple but he really emerged as a superstar in that era.
Spot on w/ your commentary about Stevie's late 60's music. It is a preview of what was to come in the 70's. I Don't Know Why is one of my favorites. My Cherie Amour is actually to b side to that song.
For your next Stevie song, I recommend another one from the '60s, "I Was Made to Love Her". I like Andy's idea to go ahead and do Songs in the Key of Life, but if it's too much to listen to all at once, split it into 2 sessions. Or if you want a shorter album, Talking Book is great too. Since Alex said he really liked this '60s Motown romantic balladry. I recommend that you listen to more by The Miracles. You've heard "Tears of a Clown", a more upbeat song, but for a ballad, check out "The Tracks of My Tears", and follow that with "Ooh Baby Baby".
More Love, my fave!
@@charlenetherrien3788 That's a good one too.
As sweet as this song is, Stevie's more bittersweet and mature ballad "Overjoyed" has just as interesting a chord progression with what are perhaps his most heartfelt and clever lyrics that he's ever written. With the bonus of having an even better though more spare mix of instruments. But when you've finally felt the need for more uptempo songs from him, give "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" a listen.
Overjoyed is one of the loveliest songs he ever wrote, IMO. And Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing might be my all time favorite from him.
Boogie on Reggae Woman was a hit in the early seventies and it's really mind-blowing. It shows you yet another side of him. It's so good.
This is a song where
the vocals outshine every instrument.
"Smooth as butter". Yes !!
"Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday" should be next Stevie you hit.
Stevie has SO MANY Great Timeless songs to choose from
Stevie Wonder’s “Talking Book” came just before “Innervisions”. “You are the Sunshine of my Life”, “Superstition” (which you’re already heard), and the sound of Stevie discovering his adult voice.
Knocks me off my feet from songs from the key of life makes me cry, it's so beautiful
Love this song. Stevie had so many great singles prior to his epic run of 70's albums. You probably need to hit Smokey Robinson this year, another major Motown artist that was so influential.
Songs In The Key Of Life - whole album, start to finish!

💯
AMAZING song!!!!! ❤
Hey John! Happy Wednesday! 😎
The world , for me anyway, would have not have been as bright and joyful and magical if Stevie Wonder had not been in it . The man is the remedy for all that hurts ... he is truly the best human being on the planet . musically and otherwise ❤
GOOOOOOOOD MORNING A&A FAMILY!!!!
☮️💟♾️
Hello and good morning!
Once again, Stevie Wonder is just a musical genius…💕💕💕
Stevie Wonder is magnificent. Do all the Stevie you can or want to do. It’s never time wasted. You don’t have to react to it publicly. He’s almost always S tier for me.
I love everything Stevie Wonder has ever sang or produced. He has a lovely and magical way about him that shows up in all his music
My favorite Wonder cut, along with the incredible "As," is the very, very early "I Was Made to Love Her." Romantic, passionate, sung with both smoothness and grit, plus his great harmonica. One of my favorite songs, period.
When he takes it up an octave, magic.
Every point in his career was punctuated by beautiful music.
If you don’t want to review a double album, don’t let ANYONE tell you that his albums Talking Book (1972) and Innervisions (1973) aren’t the equal to the double album Songs in the Key of Life (1976). They are all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ albums.
And his 1971 album Where I’m Coming From, his 1972 album Music of My Mind, and his 1974 album Fulfillingness’ First Finale are all almost as good. Maybe 4.5 stars each.
An amazing stretch of success for Stevie.
Absolutely right, Innervisions and Fullingness are only single albums but they stack up against Songs in the Key of Life any day of the week. About half of the tracks from Innervisions were released as singles and became hits.
This song makes me think about being four years old in the Summer of 1969 and hearing this on the radio while on vacation with my parents. To this day, I hear it and it’s like warm sun on my skin.
A&A, you’ll love his “Ribbon In The Sky” and "You Haven't Done Nothin'" !!! The 8th Wonder of the World!!!
Stevie is the pride of Michigan as far as I'm concerned. My blind cousin went to school with him at Michigan School for the Blind in Lansing Michigan...never knew that until decades later.
Hi Andy, and Alex. I Was Made To Love Her, and Yesterme Yesteryou Yesterday are two great songs by Stevie Wonder.
One of my first concerts was Stevie in Portland (OR) in 1970 or '71. He played every hit he'd had up to that time, plus some deep album tracks, then did an extended version of "Superstition" for a last encore, during which he got up from his keyboard and started a "train" with his back-up singers behind him. The woman that was first behind him guided him around the stage several times, then tried to guide him offstage, but he kept shaking his head "no" and they practically had to drag him off! What a showman!
One of my all time fav's!
Stevie Wonder is a national treasure!!
The most beautiful song ever in my opinion.
A lot people on earth already know this. It cant be said enough though. Stevie's chord arrangements and lyrical phrasing are genius beyond measure. His abilities are so easily and lovingly enjoyed by all of us. His music has truly made the world a better place. ❤
My brother used to adore Stevie when we were young. Now, I will never be able to look at my niece, who is 45 and nephew who is 48…. Without thinking of Stevie Wonder….ever again🤣🤣🤣🤣
Boogie On Reggae Woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A must listen.
songs in the key of life is a masterpiece!

Please try Overjoyed by Stevie, possibly the best unrequited but ever hopeful love song ever written . ❤️
This song started out as a song about a girlfriend of Stevie's at the Michigan School for the Blind, then he got help finishing it a couple years later or something from a couple of his co-writers at Motown. Great song!
Yes! Great song! Also, “Songs in the Key of Life” is a long double album, but totally worth it! One of the best albums I’ve ever listened to.

07:24 _"Dude, frickin' rizz yourself up!"_ HILARIOUS LINE 😂😂😂😂😂
When I was 20 and my girlfriend was 17 we use to babysit her younger brother and we always listened to the Stevie Wonder Talking Book album all the time. Sounds just as good today.
One of the voices of my teenage years in the 60/70s in the UK. If anyone deserves the title of genius then its Stevie
Stevie's music always sounds so uplifting. 💕
Perfection. Always perfection. He’s amazing. 👏👏👏❤️
This is one of those rare songs that is perfect in every possible way.
Stevie can do no wrong. This is beautiful.
Oh my word, those first six notes instantly take me back to such glorious times in my life. I just wanna cry and laugh all at the same time.
Been listening to Stevie Wonder since he was Little Stevie Wonder - a good long time. No better musician. Think I'll put on some Stevie and fall in love with myself again too. 😍
One of my favorite artists of all time. Songs in the Key of Life is one of his best!!!
One of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs.
Gotta love early Stevie Wonder ! MUST HEAR ~ I Was Made To Love Her ! ! ! !
One of my favorites❤…Stevie is one of the Greats….so talented😊
This was during his Lil' Stevie Wonder days. What an amazing artist!
One of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs 😀🎹
So glad. Been requesting this for like a year, this, and Reflections by the Supremes. This song is so hauntingly beautiful. They practically played it on repeat on radios in Detroit when I was a kid. I can just see all the buildings downtown at night when this plays, such a great sense memory trigger.
Catch Stevie in "That's What Friends are For" along with Elton John, Gladys Knight, and Dionne Warwick
What goes unrecognized is Stevie's jazz chops on keyboards. Outstanding virtuosityI Check out one of his live shows on RUclips.
It will change your mind that SW does much more fabulous music than the pop tunes that made him famous. With Peace and Love to all! (Michael)
Stevie is amazing with so many great songs. None better than this though. This one moves your soul. Such a feel good song. Timeless.
Songs in the Key of Life. You will love it. Great album!

A beautiful song 🎵
One of the most beautiful pop songs ever made. Stevie Wonder… there’ll never be another like him.
Beautiful beautiful song. One of my all-time favorites since the summer of 1969 when I was 16 years old.
Bittersweet memories…
Stevie was 19 years old in 1969!!

My favorite Stevie song! ❤️❤️❤️
