I bet that grandma had a heart attack. Imagine watching your grand kids and they just disappear on you.
All 5 of us took did that to Mom at least once, I think my youngest sibling had the craziest story. She hadn't been seen for hours and we looked in her room, and I even walked down to check with the neighbors if they'd seen her, turns out she'd GONE TO SLEEP IN THE LINEN CLOSET. She liked the darkness and privacy of having a hiding place. “I just hope someone would have done it for my kids”
Junior year me and my friend just got out of school and were playing football when we heard this little girl across the street crying so we went across to talk to her and she was so scared saying she doesnt know where she is. Me and my friend tried getting her moms number but her only being 6 didnt have it down. So we called the police they showed up then minutes after her grandma showed up in a panic saying she left school without waiting. One of the officers took our names down and later told one of our teachers that runs a giveaway on Friday during formation(I went to a military school) we were called up, regonized and given rewards but none of that compared to how I felt after saving her. Her mother the following week dropped off two envelopes in each was $25 and a thank you card. I still have the card to this day and I'm so proud to have helped someone out.
Excellent job Micky!
Great story
That's so true about how you felt after saving her. Like no person can truly replicate the depth of the reward of saving a lost child and seeing that genuine, raw, speechless gratitude on the face of the parents/grandparents right when they're reunited. Like I imagine as soon as they realized they couldn't find her, the IMMEDIATE thought following that would be the question of whether they're gonna find her and if they'll ever see her again, and as soon as THAT becomes a genuinely possible concern, ANYONE who manages to find her and tries to help her would be considered a hero or someone who saved her and the family. You were certainly that family's hero and savior!

I actually did this twice that I know of when I was around toddler age, on one day, I somehow opened the gate in the backyard and started walking down the side walk and then a random lady found me and took me back home(I dont remember that one, but It apparently happened, probably when I was like 2 or 3 then), and then this one I remember, I was 4, I couldn't find my dad in the house so I went to my Neighbors house and ended up playing with their kid that was around my age (It was Toy Story, I remember XD), so they called my mom, she was at work, so my mom called my dad, and then he got me. XD Kids tend to just do things even when you look away for one split second, it happens.
P.s. Don't give hate to the grandmother, please, kids just be doin things.

@Danny451 Fuentes ...., GOD does not control the actions of evil men..., but..., those same evil men will one day reap what they have sown.
We live in a fallen world where there is corruption and evil..., it's up to people as to whether "they choose" to do good or choose to do evil and also in how they choose to respect and treat others. GOD isn't the problem..., Satan along with heartless, cruel and selfish people are the true problem. We live in a corrupt world and the only way to change this fact is to overcome evil with good..., just like Christ taught us in scripture.

Doesn’t sound right @ all 💯
Don't make assumptions. Maybe they were playing with backpacks on in the first place.
Strawberry Shortcake This a serious situation wit baby’s involved all asumptions should be made
Jamie Utitus I wondered that too. But many kids are used to always taking them everyday to daycare or school so maybe they grabbed them. But I sure hope they investigated this well.
I decided to go on an 'adventure' once and left the house after putting my shoes and backpack on, the backpack was empty but that's how a kids mind works, they know they should have that sort of stuff to leave the house..If grandma went downstairs and they didn't know and thought she'd gone outside, it makes sense in a kids mind to put on a backpack and go looking for them

I don't know if anyone will read this...
But this just recently happened with my 10 year old daughter. I'm grateful to a stranger for saying something, even though it turned out my daughter wasn't in danger this time.
Firstly, I live in a city which is known for human trafficking. My daughter used to carpool with friends to school the past few years now has to walk .7 miles to the school. (Budget cuts meant no bus unless at least 1 mile away.) We actually live in a neighborhood that's cut off from the larger neighborhood by a commercial lone that takes about 10 minutes to get through to get to the area her school and most friends actually live.
At the start of the school year I walked with her and 2 other kids who lived on next street but they soon changed school and I got a job. A girl from her class lives just on other side of the commercial zone walks with several siblings and other friends. I decided to allow my daughter to meet her friends to walk together before it gets too cold. On the condition we talk on the phone until she gets past the area she walks alone and is with a group.
So last week as she is walking to school, I hear her talking to someone saying No, thanks I'm meeting friends. Now I should mention I was elected the previous 2 school years on the PTA. My husband literally grew up having sleep overs with her principal so many people in the area may recognize her. She lived in same home her whole life. It was her teacher (Ms. B) who pulled into a parking lot to offer her a ride.
Somebody saw this and called police with a license plate number and explained they saw someone trying to get a young girl into a vehicle. Police traced plate # and came to the school to make sure there was no threat. But to that stranger I'd like to thank you for saying something. You really made me grateful that in my little area we are sticking together!
It's good to hear that others are still watching out for any kids they come across. I try to do the same thing. I was actually on a bench at the mall one time when a mom & her kids came by. She let her son sit there while she got the car because he had a broken foot & was on crutches.
Not a big deal at all. But just in case I sat there an extra couple of minutes anyway.
I personally think you have a pretty good system in place to protect her. Especially if you have a tracking app on her phone for you to be able to follow. But talking with her through that spot is a great idea.
It gives her a good sense of responsibility too.
@The only China I like is white you made me lol for real. Yeah ended up being really long

It happens everywhere and in Wisconsin people watch out for each other & each other's children... which is an excellent thing 👍💓
It doesn't only happen in WI. Also, it's really hard for kids to get lost in the snow in states where it doesn't snow.
