I have had my DD sport fogs in gold/yellow for about two weeks now in my Jeep Gladiator. I drive in snowy/foggy and rainy mountainous weather almost daily. The difference these fogs have made in my 4am commute is amazing to say the least. Recently had our family vehicle break down so my wife took my Jeep to the kids hockey practice one night. Even she was impressed! Great job DD! Ordering Pro driving for the bumper next! Every car needs these!

Nice review! Do you think that by getting the 6k White SS3 and then using the Amber lens would give similar effect as only getting the Amber?I am pondering getting these but like the idea of getting 6k as they match my vehicles' HID's but then can swap to Amber in bad weather thanks
Hey there! We actually use a warm white LED chip in our yellow pods. We recommend purchasing our yellow lens cover to give you a yellow output without having to swap the inner optic!

Ive always found yellow fog lights on an aggressive black SUV to be... quite frankly... stunning. Looks aren't everything tho, there has to be a use for it at the end of the day.

Got the SAE PRO foglights on my Toyota 4Runner and they are awesome!
The selective yellow is a solid choice for those who deal with serious foggy conditions like we have been in WA.
Best part is how much light floods and doesn’t glare up unlike the Baja Designs so called “SAE” offering.

Hey there! While we don't offer a lifetime warranty on our SS3s, we do offer an 8-year warranty! We think you'll be very pleased with the output of our SS3s compared to other options on the market as well!
I’m confused… I want a yellow light. So I should get a yellow optic. But there’s an option for an amber backlight or not? Should I get the amber backlight and yellow lense? I’m confused
The backlight is an accent light that is powered by an extra set of LED chips. It allows you to show off anytime you're not using your fog lights. Then when you turn your fog lights on, the backlight will shut off and the main beam will come on. If you want a yellow fog light (main beam), select the yellow option!
I’m confused about what exactly does amber “backlight” mean?
Hey there! To clarify, the backlight feature is simply a low power accent light that acts as an extra accessory light or DRL! It's very low amps so they won't tax your battery at all if you run them all the time.

Are the lenses replaceable? I drive about 80k miles a year and rocks/debris always crack or destroy my fog lights.
They sure are! We offer replacement lenses on our website! However, these were designed do be durable enough to be used in a rally car, so they can take a beating!

Right now I have SS3 sport in yellow sitting in 2018 trd 4x4 off-road. Looking pretty cool but I will upgrade to the max for more light output sooner or later…gotta love that amber day or night, it shines so crispy bright.

Are the SS3 Driving considered SAE/DOT road legal? They appear to more resemble a Spot and they don't seem like they have a cutoff for oncoming traffic.

I have the SS3 in Amber flog on my 2012 Jeep JKU and the with of the Output is Freakin Amazing! On the NJ Parkway I can see from tree line to tree line and Any deer on the side of the road!!I got my from Lightwerkz in NJ Id love to get White and add them to the top of the bumper someday!

Hey there - wiring is very straightforward, and is completely plug and play with the optional wiring harness on the listing. This will not void any warranty that you have either!

I have a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek and I’d be all over the amber ones..however, I have the “base model” meaning there’s a place to put them -but no existing fog lights. How complicated is the wiring on the install? I’ll order tomorrow if it’s not a major project.

I know I'm two months late to the party but all you have to do is buy a foglight wiring kit, which aren't bad at all to wire up. If your Crosstrek has fog light bezel blanks, you would just have to order new bezels as well. I have a 19' STI that doesn't come with fogs from the factory and I'm retrofitting my bezels and I bought a wiring harness that comes with a switch you mount on your instrument panel that keeps it looking OEM. Its not too bad at all.

Diode Dynamics will do! I’d love to stuff three sets of a smaller, two diode version behind the bumper of my ‘18 gti. It’ll keep a similar aesthetic while having much better output. Unless you guys plan on making some triple-beam led projector full housing replacements for ‘15-‘19 Volkswagen Golf GTI’s... I’ve had no luck bugging Morimoto about it. Haha
Ughh, you had to come out with this just after I went with the Baja Designs foglights for my Scion FRS. I really want those sae lenses. The ones I got have to much spread vertically.
BD is sending out a modification for their SAE Squadrons since they aren't SAE compliant. Just in case you didn't already see that.

@@couri1033 The jury is still out this baja design move. We gonna wait and see. Baja designs is top notch when it comes to off road lighting output, but they are new to the automotive SAE/DOT stuff.

You could mount SS3 Fogs as ditch lights. However, we recommend checking your local laws for the legality of this.

How does yours compare to Baja design squadron sae
With the new TIR optic utilized in the SS3, we have seen an improvement in overall output over all of the competition. We do anticipate on releasing a head to head video of the SS3 against much of the competition in the near future as well!
