the DRL function is an extra add on for each set of fog lights, about $40. sport’s cost $280 without DRL and $320 with DRL, pro’s cost $380 without DRL and $420 with DRL, and max cost $580 without DRL and $620 with DRL.
Added the pros awhile back and love them. Not only on off/back roads but in the burbs and city they are great also, really light up the side walks and edges of streets. The color is awesome in the rain. 👍🏻
did this on a 23 limited last month. only difference in the install is you have to undo some hard to reach clips then pop out the rectangular fog housing assemble. i went with the ss3 sport i think its called plenty bright for me over the stockers that i put amber laminx on top.
I had the Sports in my Bronco and they seemed super bright, but the pros are more than double for "only" $100 more, I might have to reconsider the pros for the 4Runner.
I see references with these to both "driving" and "fog" configurationsor. I understand the difference, but are these different products or simply different aiming?
I had order the SS3 back in 2021 and they didn’t have the backlight option then. I wonder if there is an adapter or accessory that I can simply plug and play to have that function. Would love to have the DRL option on my fogs
I want to say fog lights should be aimed around 12”-18” from the ground. Because fog is low to the ground. The yellow will help cut through the dense fog. It’ll be a wide beam that sits lower than your main beams
I ordered the SS3’s non backlight, but the box came with the backlight harness. Could the company who sent them out maybe sent the wrong ones. Is there anyway to tell if they have the backlight function before hooking them up that you know of?
You could always just not connect the backlight wire if they are the wrong ones, it will make no difference. What is the part number on the box? That’s a way to tell
@@T4Rgarage I unfortunately tossed the box awhile ago. I’d actually prefer the back light to be honest but decided to save the $40 extra and having to splice into some factory wires. I guess what I’m saying is, now that I’ve got them is their anyway to tell if they have back light function if I no longer have the box. I’d suspect there would be an amber light inside the housing wouldn’t there if it undid the 4 screws and removed the lens?
can i just hook up the back lighting to the usb opition in the fuse box because i was looking up on youtube and most of the poeple that install the Raptor Light hook up the power there so would that work let me know asap because i plan to get a set of the ss3 for my toyota rav4
@@MrSpiderfire it has to do with the harness and fitment if I'm not mistaken. It tells you on their website, which sucks because 2024s get the led foglights at least if u get the ORP. I was about to buy some but read the disclaimer.
@@gfgneo , that sucks I have factory LEDs fogs on my 23 as well. I see the note on their web page but it's not very clear if it's a wiring harness or mounting bracket issue

Didn’t think I would go for the DRL option but that looked great. Thanks for the vid!
I have these and they're awesome. I tapped a marker wire for the backlight, love it!
Love mine as well, so bright with the perfect cut-off. Thanks for sharing the marker wire tap, I’m sure someone will find that info helpful on here
Thanks for this video! Just put them on my ‘22 4Runner. The amber DRL looks awesome.

I can’t wait to use them in the rain. You’re right, the light spread is really nice with good cutoff to prevent you from blinding people
Looks great! Always doing it right! 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I just installed the same Pro SS3...they are ridiculously bright.

cheers! ss3 max with amber drls 🥂
Just subscribed, you definitely deserve more than 10k subs!
Nice upgrade.
Very happy with them. Oem fit, oem switch, aftermarket power!
I was so wishing you showed tapping into the headlight running lights! How would you go about doing that?
Yes, please show how this is done.
I had the Sports in my Bronco and they seemed super bright, but the pros are more than double for "only" $100 more, I might have to reconsider the pros for the 4Runner.
Would love to have seen some night time shots of the road

So you tap the backlit part into the raptor lights 2 times essentially one for each side correct?
That’s correct
Curious what daytime running light are you running?
Question. What bulbs are you running for your stock DRLs?
I see an option for amber backlit. Im guessing that is the DRL that you show?
Yes it is 😁
How are you supposed to aim the fog lights? Closer to the headlight beam?
Below the headlights I believe. Suppose to function as low level lighting to illuminate the ground but not the fog in your field of vision

Did you tap both of the t taps for the running lights into the raptor lights harness? If so, did you just put them right next to each other?
Yes I tapped both into the raptor lights. I think into separate raptor lights but you could into the same light also
@@T4Rgarage So you can tap them into an individual light, rather than the part of the harness where they all conjoin?

Any way you could do a video with a 2002 grand Cherokee thanks love and peace from Australia
Lol
Lmao what. He has a JDM Toyota, it's vastly superior to any Jeep.

What did you end up tapping in to?
i just bought the normal ones without the blacklight option
Do you think these will work in the limited bumper
They will work in the 2014-23 Limited bumper
@@T4Rgarageand 2010-2013 limited and sr5 as well.
How do we allow the fogs to stay on with the brights?
Sorry I am not sure off hand
Britebox anytime is a product you can buy to achieve this. Have one on my 4Runner. Works well.
I wired mine to the oem switch but made it run on a separate relay so the power stays on with high beams
You should mention they don't work if ur 4runner has led fog lights from the factory
They wont? Do you happen to know why not?

INSANE! Value?? I would NEVER pay $400-500 for fog lights.
