Remember when Jellybean first played this at Hearthrobs and everyone went crazy. This and Jellybean’s remake of the Mexican are classic in Freestyle.

This song is notorious for the main lyrics sung by India being so unintelligible that even nearly 30 years later, many are still wondering what she is saying.
It has been said that India improvised the lyrics as she was recording them in the studio as she was told to just "feel the groove and go with it" so she did.
She has performed the song live numerous times and it's clear that there are some lyrics, but some of it is just vocalizing and scatting.
For the longest, I thought she was saying “Ya know me. Ya know I’ll always be there” in the beginning. I was a kid back then and didn’t know any better lol. This song still makes me dance
Wow and thanks for the info! I used to work at a record store and ppl. would fine in looking for this song, but couldn’t make out the words. Lol! It was also very hard to find this mix of this info and I think it was only released on import. The version on the Ep (Jellybean) was not the same abs didn’t have the same beat. Even tho I worked at a dance music store, it took me a few years to find it used.

Yes this is true. There’s a video called “La India Accepts Freestyle Honor Award” on youtube and she talked about how she was singing with the ORIGINAL TKA with Tony, Aby, Kayel, and Spider. La India was very young and then after this hit, she began to record her first solo album “Breaking Night” and even appeared in “A East Side Story” with Marc Anthony, Corina, Safire, Chrissy I-Eece, and many more. She is a true legend, not just in Salsa music, but in Freestyle

This was really hard to find the 12” of this mix (dancers dram mix). I think it was on the Hellybean EP but that version sound flat compared to this mix. I was working at Star Records in San Francisco from 90 to 92 (3years) and I had the Jellybean EP or album already and wanted this mix and took me a few years funding it used at a popular used record store.
I also had a few customers try to described this record but it was hard for them bc the lyrics were scatted, but we didn’t have it anyway. Lol!

You can download it right here from youtube. Get a youtube to mp3 converter and you can have any tune on youtube, then transfer it to a flasdrive and listen in the car. That's what I do and bring my car back to the 80;s WEEEEEEPAAAA!
