If its not american, the only chance is the oscar for foreign movies, and those are usually limited to arthouse movies that are made for that reason. Thats simply american nationalism. America first, no matter how good the rest of the world might be.
Exactly. Most movies at the Oscars are made specifically to win at the Oscars. HP movies are made for families and kids to enjoy. They’re made for profit.
Alan Rickman deserved an acting nomination! It’s not fair that - Ian McKellen for Fellowship of the Ring & Alex Guiness for Star Wars were nominated. But Rickman was snubbed.
@@oguzer7 He didn’t have 5 minutes of screen time in Deathly Hallows Part 2! Also Judi Dench won an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love for 8 minutes of screen time.

Harry potter movies are the bestest movies of this planet ..no-one can deny it .. it shows emotion , love, courage , friendship, family , faith, sacrifice and many more ... It is a whole package of life lessons..❤️❤️❤️
Movies are created to entertain people and make people dream, not to win an Oscar. Harry Potter certainly entertained and made people dream and still does. One of the best franchise in history at least for me.
I remember that in the years immediately following the Harry Potter series, viewership of the Oscars went down, especially among the younger demographics. The Academy acted all confused as to why young people didn't want to watch the Oscars, so they did things like have Robert Pattinson (who was doing Twilight at the time) present an award and had Ellen Degeneres (who is known to resonate with younger audiences) host. I distinctly remember boycotting the Oscars because of the Harry Potter snub, and it wasn't like it was an organized effort, but I'm pretty sure most of my generation did the same thing. To be honest, I don't remember the last time I watched the Oscars. The Harry Potter snub made me realize (which I sort of already knew) that the film that wins the Oscar isn't the one that is actually the best. It's the one that its owners did the most sucking up to the Academy. Think Star Wars. Sure, the series has won a handful of Oscars over the years, but not nearly what it deserved. George Lucas was sort of an outcast in Hollywood because he wouldn't suck up to people, so they didn't want to give him the honor. Absolutely no one can name the film that won Best Picture in 1977, but EVERYONE has heard of Star Wars.
Both Snape and Grindelwald deserved an Oscar. That award is hypocritical anyways Also add Bellatrix to the list. Her portrayal of Bellatrix was flawless
@@dhrgkbqxtjr2743 And that's the point. If it's nothing then it should be easy for Harry Potter to receive it right? You probably forgot but blockbuster films tend to win in these kind of categories: Best visual effect, Best original score, Best costume, Best make-up. So again, Blockbuster is not an excuse here and it's strange that Harry Potter didnt receive at least one of those.
@@Reza-uw2lr You seem to be conveniently forgetting that winning an Oscar depends on who the competition is for each particular year. Who was Suicide Squad's competition in 2018 versus all of Harry Potter's from 2002-2012? It's not a surprise they won a Makeup award considering they have to literally paint The Joker and Harley Quinn in... Wait... Yup... You guessed it... Clown makeup. Like duh. Also, you're comparing Visual Effects and Original Score to makeup? 😂😂😂 Those are awards that require actual technical skill and IT knowledge, not to mention mastering musical instruments. To win a makeup award all you need is a gay guy with an eyeshadow brush. Not the same thing. Not even in the same league.
The CGI was brilliant for its time. When I watch Harry Potter now, I am blown away at how timeless it seems. Every Harry Potter movie is loved by fans, that’s more important then rich directors funding the oscars pockets for those awards.
It's outrageous. Excellent supporting actors, great cinematography (specially in POA and HBP), great editing in POA and DH2, outstanding adapted screenplays, best soundtracks (c'mon, Prisoner of Azkaban, Half Blood prince, Deathly Hallows 2 and both FB movies!), Hugo winning best special effects over DH2, best production design in COS, POA, GOF and HBP, best costume design in DH1, DH2 and FB2, best make up and hairstyling for DH2, FB1 and FB2, etc.
I almost completely agree. When it comes to the scores I think only John Williams' scores for the first 3 movies and James Newton Howard's scores for the Fb movies should have won or at least be nominated. I am a musician and even though I'm not a composer I can recognize that the scores of movies 4 to 8 weren't that special even though they sound very nice. The Gof score (Patrick Doyle) was very cliché, the Ootp score (Nicolas Hooper) has very nice melodies but I think the action scenes or background music (less melodic) fall a bit flat and the Hbp score is by far the worst imo (it has only 2 or 3 tracks with solid melodies, a lot of it is really cliché, the harmonies feel empty and a lot is very repetitive). Alexandre Desplat's score for both Dh movies has much better harmonies and is overall better written but it is a very standard film score. You could put it under any other movie and it would work completely fine. You can still like those scores because they sound great but they are not outstanding pieces of film music and definitely not of music in general
@@Noortje-ns9dz I am not a musician but I've always been interested on it, specially on soundtracks. Personally, I think that THB soundtrack is one of the best in the franchise. Nicholas Hooper isn't John Williams, JN Howard or Desplat, but for me, this soundtrack is truly incredible. I know many people don't like this movie, neither the tone it has and the colours, but I not only love it, but think it's really good. I love In Noctem, When Ginny Kissed Harry, Harry and Hermione, Dumbledore's Farewell, Slughorn's Confession, Journey to the Cave, Ginny and The Friends. It's more thematic, more uniform with the tone of the movie. Hauntingly beautiful music.
@@Noortje-ns9dz Yeah, I've seen it. I respect the video, because he has to know a lot about music, but people are usually VERY extreme, and I keep thinking they are great.
While I love the potter films and think they deserved something. Peter Jackson (LOTR) was virtually unknown before that trilogy so the Lord of the Rings films didn’t win because of his image, they won because each of those films were cinematic masterpieces with visual effects and scores that were just better than the early potter films (since they came out around the same time). Deathly Hallows part 2 was fantastic but definitely not as good as Return of the King
Tom Felton also received two Best Villain awards for The Half Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows Part-1 at either the Teen Choice Awards or the People's Choice Awards or the MTV Movie Awards, I forget which one. Also the prominent child actors of the franchise were pretty damn good, Tom Felton and Rupert Grint in particular.
But Teen Choice Awards and the likes are base on the fans/votings, right? (correct me if I'm wrong). But nevertheless, I agree with you that Rupert Grint and Tom Felton are the best among them child actors.
for Music, Special Effects, and make-up it deserved Oscars. I'm not so sure about acting, though. Daniel Radcliffe did deserve and Oscar for his portrayal of Igor in 'Frankenstein'.
OK I will start with this. I love the Harry Potter series and I have read the book series 8 times already. But having said that, none of the movies in Harry Potter deserved an Oscar. The first 2 were definitely made for kids. And while the last 6 were for more mature audience, they never reached the caliber of an Oscar worthy film. Also, Alan Rickman was great in the final movie but still not Oscar worthy, he barely had enough scenes in that movie. Same goes for the rest of the supporting cast. The entire series was truly Harry, Ron & Hermione centric, not to mention exploration of the world and different creatures were also limited. Outside of Hogwarts scenes were rare and the story was minimized as opposed to the books. The cinematography also felt very dark most of the time as opposed to the liveliness in the books. But most importantly I believe the chances of the Oscars fainted because of the books as more academy members might have felt they knew the story already - that's just a guess though no confirmation.
I like the Harry Potter movies. But they failed to manage to make me feel half the emotions and wonder that the books made me feel. I believe a film adaptation should elevate the original material but that didn't happened with HP. The books remained far superior.
@@ophirelda3368 I agree with you completely that the books felt so much more detailed and were more engaging. Usually, I would say that whatever we get first makes us fond of those more - i.e. since we got the books first so we were more engaged in those rather than the movies (an example is that I watched Game of Thrones TV show first and so I like that more than the books). But that argument just doesn't stand a chance on the Harry Potter franchise. The books clearly are way superior.
@@SadmanPlays Yes. I mean it's a given that books will more often be better. But not to the extent that each time I saw a new movie in the HP franchise, I always wished that someone like Peter Jackson, who is committed and in love with the source material, will direct the Potter films. I admit the latter two movies were good, but still fall short from the awesomeness of book 7.
I would agree, but Anne Hathaway got her supporting actress Oscar from like 15 minutes of screen time and one weepy musical number. I definitely feel like Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, and Michael Gambon had enough screen time to earn best supporting Oscar.
@@MeyaRoseGirl I do agree that those actors were marvelous but the "15 minutes if weepy acting" is what makes her Oscar win even more impressive , if you ever have time please watch the movie and you will learn how moving the scene is and even when her entire character arc is so small and just a plot device it is very heartening and central and she does a very very good job.
when Deathly Hallows part 2 got ignored, i know something was up. The film alone worth to get nominated in every categories if possible like, it was just IT
Bruh that movie was nothing but fight scene. Of course it didn’t win anything. It was only half a plot also. If they had done book 7 in one long film it might have been nominated but only if they took the series in a huge new direction.
@@sackthebastard yeah you got a point there, it's a pity that the first part was overwhelmingly boring and the next, it escalated too quick with a huge complex scene which most of em were the fights. I agree with you, it probably would be nominated if they were packed in one entirety
Yes the acting the the beginning wasn't extremely spectacular but the point is it doesn't stay that way. Their performances in most of the films were beyond Oscar worthy. Especially Dan in order of the phoenix and Alan in Deathly hallows part two.
Most likely fantastic beast got an Oscar because it was set in America. Americans just love boasting about themselves while HP was made in England. Who cares if the directors weren't famous ones in HP. That's just biased choices if the Oscars are given to already great directors.
Harry Potter had good chances of winnings technical academy awards (soundtrack, art direction, etc). The problem is that, at least the first 3 movies, were released on the same year of the lord of the rings movies, which are far superior
The early 2000s were largely dominated by The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Other icons of that era were the Star Wars prequels, The Matrix Trilogy, and the Raimi Spider-Man films. Stand-alone films like Gladiator also added fierce competition to Harry Potter.
They were okay, but they were up against films like: No Country for Old Men, The King's Speech, and The Social Network to name a few. The Deathly Hallows were nostalgic but not remarkable.
@@kenllacer Deathly Hallows was definitely good and memorable as a blockbuster, but to say that they should be better than those films is like saying that My Hero Academia is better than Neon Genesis Evangelion
What matters in the end is that Harry Potter will remain infinitely more popular than all the films that won an award in the late 2000s and early 2010s. You won't see me watching Slumdog Millionaire every Christmas, but you can bet I'll be watching The Half Blood Prince every now and then.
Half-Blood Prince had stunning cinematography, heralded by Bruno Delbonnel, and was nominated for an Oscar that year. But of course Avatar fell on that year and well… you know.
Harry Potter series won our heart..taught us how to live, how to love unconditionally and do anything for love and dare to sacrifice our life also...that is more than a award..those movies are masterpieces..love from India.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love Harry Potter. I grew up watching it and it holds a very special place in my heart. That doesn’t mean it’s Oscar-worthy, though. It should’ve won a few technical awards, however.
Because they were snubbed that's why, some of these films were easily among the best released upon their years and several will surely become cinema classics. From make up, to music, to photography, to art direction, to acting...these were people at the top of their game, telling an amazing story. Nothing was quite like these films
Grammys and Oscars that are so called for talented artist clearly doesn't define talent. The industry politics and based on who's hot right now + whoever gets to vote the winner only choose the one they familiar with.
I would say the child actors in the main leading roles were absolutely fantastic anf gave brilliant performances just as those adult actors (even if no one else but I was moved by the character development of Harry and Hermione in a massive way throughout, and that's because of those very actors who played those characters brilliantly). As the series progressed, their acting skills progressed to an tremendous amount as well. Saying that they are still kids and their acting was only charming and decent while the only senior group did an excellent job is a bit like ignoring them just because they weren't adults in the movies while completely overlooking their performances.
If people think winning an Oscar makes movies better or give better reputation then it's totally awful. I mean harry potter is beyond Oscar. Series that changed our childhood, series that changed our life and thoughts. You'll not believe but trust me If I'm alive today it's because of harry potter. I was a depressed suicidal person, I never wanted to live but then harry potter happen 😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ . Hogwarts is my home
Harry Potter for kids? Yea, we will TOTALLY ignore the fact when Ron's mom called bellatrix a b*tch in the 2nd part of 7th Harry Potter movie. And the deaths... yeaaa, TOTALLY a kids movie
Warning, this is going to be a looong comment :) First of all, I get why people are upset, that the series almost never won an oscar, but there are several reasons to it. At first, I'd argue that the series don't deserved an oscar because of it's extreme inconsistency... I mean, with four different directors and composers and stuff, it didn't really feel that the series had one unified singluar strength. Each film feels different. The thing with LOTR, for example, was, that all of the three films had pretty much the same level of complete awesomeness. With HP, there are (in my opinion) weaker and stronger films. Also, there are some problems with the genuine story. I mean, some characters in the story served no purpose at all. Remember Barty Crouch senior or the REAL Mad Eye Moody? What about Gilderoy Lockhart... NIMPHADORA TONKS?? (PS: this is all based on the films as in the books, many of these characters are relevant to the story.) And also, this section where you talk about the music, yeah, the music of the first three films was godlike and then, it became, in my opinion, medicore. Compair this to LOTR: in the first film, we are introduced in the Shire Theme and all the way to the third film, this theme had been grown with us and carried extreme emotional weight... and in HP: at the death of Sirius, imagine what emotional impact "A Window To The Past" from film 3 would have had in that scene! Instead, we get blank music from Hooper... At the end, there were definetly some good things in the HP series, but the biggest problem with it, is that even from HP hardcore fans, some films were considered "not that good" or "medicore".
I really understood that you are a crazy LOTR fan but nvm I wanted to say something - I had no problem with your 1st point which is extremely true but -Barty crouch senior was there for an important role in the books I don't know you have read the books or not. He played a role in the life of his son from taking him out of azkaban to keeping him in secret , the real mad eye moody just got included because there is need for a new DADA teacher every year , nymphdora tonks was there just for Lupin in my opinion, she was there to show some affection to the lonely werewolf and about gilderoy lockhart it just again a need for DADA teacher and adds funny storyline - nothing else Most importantly it won millions of people's heart so who GIVES A SHIT ABOUT AN OSCAR ?
Reminder in 2002 Harry Potter 1 and Lord of the Rings 1 lost to Moulin Rouge for best art direction. ...I just...how? How can you loose to Moulin Rouge?
I'm a huge HP fan but I'll be honest: HP movies aren't perfect (yeah, they are better ones and worse ones which I don't quite like but still). Besides first Fantastic Beasts movie got an Oscar and it fits me.
comes to show Hollywood doesn't always recognize greatness... oh wait, the books were great, hhm. Yeah, no... makes sense they were overlooked in most categories. Although the soundtrack really should be recognized.
What do you mean why?… Could you imagine if the Academy actually acknowledged some thing peopleactualy liked that did not have some kind of social commentary, critique of culture, or political agenda? Then what would the Oscars be… I mean besides watchable
The people who said the main characters are kids and the not main characters are adults , firstly Harry Potter is a story of a eleven year old boy whose parents are dead, who has the worst relatives, has a scar, is the boy who lived etc . You can’t just put a 65 year old to play a 11 year old that’s just so dumb.
They should have won at least visual effects for deathly hallows 2, make up for deathly hallows 1, costume and adapted screenplay for philosophers stone and cinematography for prisoner of azkaban.
Because Harry Potter isn’t the kind of movie the Academy likes to reward - a) fantasy; b) blockbuster; and c) a children’s movie. Lord of the Rings was also largely snubbed, winning only six of its first nineteen nominations, all in minor categories. It wasn’t until RotK that it swept because RotK was. Just. That. Good. and Hollywood could no long ignore it.
Harry potter never won an Oscar simply because probably the movies were not good enough, the books are incredible but the movies with the exceptions of goblet of fire, chamber of secret and philosopher stone were completely different from the book which was the best element of the movies, than the actor of harry,Ron and Hermione didn't a stunning job and some elements were a bit nonsense due to multiple important cut from the books
The truth is that Harry Potter movies don't deserve Oscars. Yeah, they are very good (although it depends on which movie we are talking about because personally o can't stand Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows part 1 movies) but i don't think they are Oscar-worthwinning level
Does oscar worth it? Harry Potter is a legend dude. You ask random people you met and ask what harry potter is, and I believe they can answer right away. And you ask them again one of the Oscar winners, I doubt they had watched it.
David Yates DEFINITELY DEFINITELY deserves an oscar for Order Of The Phoenix, how he managed to put the details of the book so perfectly in the movie was BRILLIANT. Period.
Holy moly David Yates has never read the books, except Silente Vs Voldemort ,the entire movie was terrible, from the beginning to the ending with that Harry so fking far from the Harry of the books.
Maybe, but make a good adaptation is not enough to deserve a nomination. Good adaptation is not the same as good movie. In my unpopular opinion, Yates is not a good director.
Frankly Fantastic Beasts is highly overrated. Both in terms of attention retention, story, tracks and some actors. Harry Potter and it's cast, story, attention interest especially actors with strong screen presence like Daniel Radcliffe, Alan Rickman can never be matched.
@@seanb.3837 I’m not lying, there were better films that beat them at the Oscars, ya’ll acting as if HP are some of the greatest films ever, when they are not, they are good adaptations and are entertaining blockbusters that do some impressive things but they’re just good.
Well, the reason why is pretty simple to me. In the categories the film were in those particular years, they werent the best ones... thats all that is.
I feel that the series was that epic they flew right past Oscar grade films & ended up where they belonged, in fan grade ones, besides Oscars stopped representing legitimately great films when who directed it & the flavour of the moment crown meant more than the films content.
you know what we couldn't care less, i personally enjoyed the movies as a kid, as teenager and as an adult and I guess millions of others have this same sentiment. Sometimes award loose their recognition and authenticity by overlooking such masterpieces. Many movies are viewed only because they won an academy award, but potterverse will continue to fascinate generations and tingle many imaginations as it has done in last 2 decades.
I have a hypothesis about why the Oscars snubbed the Harry Potter series. Back in the 2000's the books were already a massive hit, and Hollywood was eager to adapt a prophetic blockbuster. At the time, Hollywood was mostly by Americans for Americans, and whenever they adapted stories or novels from other countries, they hired a USA-based cast and adapt it for American audiences. Sometimes they would even adapt international period classics in a modern setting in the USA. For Harry Potter itself, there was even talk of setting the series in California instead of the UK, and hiring Haley Joel Osment for the main role. For directing, big names such as Steven Spielberg were considered. However, when JK Rowling sold the rights on the condition that the cast were all British, it changed the direction of the production and made it more European. Sure, it was distributed by Warner Brothers and the first two were directed by the American Chris Columbus; but it was made by Heyday Productions, which is British, and not only was the cast all British or European, but so was half of the crew, and all the films were shot and produced in Britain, which wasn't common at the time. This process might have alienated the team from the Hollywood circle in America. On top of that, despite being a big series, it was notable for hiring "low profile" directors such as Mike Newell and David Yates. I'm pretty sure that if the same franchise had been made in the USA and directed by, say, Steven Spielberg or Ron Howard, it would have earned some Oscars. However, Harry Potter did bring a trend to make film franchises more international. Andrew Adamson, the director of the first Narnia movie, once said in an interview that they owed Harry Potter for making audiences interested in anything British; and the trend to adapt a British story with an all-British cast for a Hollywood franchise is common place now.
The Harry Potter series won millions of people's heart and it's recognised world wide! So who gives a shit about an Oscar? Oscars just don't deserve this masterpiece
Who, and in what category, should have received an Oscar for Harry Potter?

America first, no matter how good the rest of the world might be.
I watch fantastic beast and its not even good compared to HP..the story line, the cast acting ect.

There's one simple reason why HP movies didn't get oscars : they weren't oscar bait movies

Exactly
Harry potter movies are the bestest movies of this planet ..no-one can deny it .. it shows emotion , love, courage , friendship, family , faith, sacrifice and many more ... It is a whole package of life lessons..❤️❤️❤️
Heck, it doesn't matter if they get an oscar or not! They should know that they're fans appreciate them so much!!!!!
I can. It's Annie Hall which is btw a much better film than the first Star Wars.
Both Snape and Grindelwald deserved an Oscar. That award is hypocritical anyways
Also add Bellatrix to the list. Her portrayal of Bellatrix was flawless
It's a blockbuster. Rarely do action movies get awards. But they do get the money and fandom loyalty.
Suicide Squad says hi. Blocksbuster is not an excuse tbh.
@@Reza-uw2lr Suicide Squad won an Oscar for Makeup 😂😂😂 That's nothing.
Harry Potter is Not an action movie!
Inside the Score made a series of videos about it. That pretty much explains why the later Hp movies should not have gotten an Oscar
Bruh it's so clear why it didn't win Oscar...it deserves something greater than Oscar but that doesn't exist >:(
Why would the Harry Potter franchise have a need to be given a participation trophy from Hollyweird? It's above that snobbery.
Those teens choice or peoples choice awards dont mean jack shit lol
@@oguzer7 not necessarily , Taylor used to get just those but now she churns Grammy's awardS
So....
Finally!!!! Someone with a brain!
Because the main teen actors were not that impressive. The adults were acting their hearts out but weren't the focus.
Yeah, the main cast in the final 3 or 4 movies were fine but in the others, good for their age but otherwise just meh
TOTALLY DISAGREE.

Hallows part 2 scenes were just too dark. It actually just didnt look good with that dark & gritty look.
@@sackthebastard yeah you got a point there, it's a pity that the first part was overwhelmingly boring and the next, it escalated too quick with a huge complex scene which most of em were the fights. I agree with you, it probably would be nominated if they were packed in one entirety

Most likely fantastic beast got an Oscar because it was set in America. Americans just love boasting about themselves while HP was made in England. Who cares if the directors weren't famous ones in HP. That's just biased choices if the Oscars are given to already great directors.
Yeah, honestly its really frustrating
Fantastic beasts is not half as good as Harry Potter
Also explains why HP got the Bafta. I'm not saying it didn't deserve an award, just that it was likely rewarded for the wrong reasons.
Alfonso Cuarón has won multiple oscars though
This was the comment I was looking for
Harry Potter had good chances of winnings technical academy awards (soundtrack, art direction, etc).
Yeah but what about the last films????
Lord of the rings - good
Star Wars prequels - bad
Matrix movies - bar
Spider-Man movies - good
So there could have been room for up
Half-Blood Prince had stunning cinematography, heralded by Bruno Delbonnel, and was nominated for an Oscar that year.
But of course Avatar fell on that year and well… you know.

Alan Rickman as Snape and Imelda Staunton as Umbridge deserved at least a nod from the Oscars.
Warning, this is going to be a looong comment :)
First of all, I get why people are upset, that the series almost never won an oscar, but there are several reasons to it.
(PS: this is all based on the films as in the books, many of these characters are relevant to the story.)
And also, this section where you talk about the music, yeah, the music of the first three films was godlike and then, it became, in my opinion, medicore.
He played a role in the life of his son from taking him out of azkaban to keeping him in secret , the real mad eye moody just got included because there is need for a new DADA teacher every year , nymphdora tonks was there just for Lupin in my opinion, she was there to show some affection to the lonely werewolf and about gilderoy lockhart it just again a need for DADA teacher and adds funny storyline - nothing else
Most importantly it won millions of people's heart so who GIVES A SHIT ABOUT AN OSCAR ?
Alan Rickman won the hearts of millions of people around the world 😍 and after all these years we will ALWAYS love him

comes to show Hollywood doesn't always recognize greatness... oh wait, the books were great, hhm. Yeah, no... makes sense they were overlooked in most categories.
I still think that they deserve an Oscar and that it is kinda ridiculous that they didn’t
They should have won at least visual effects for deathly hallows 2, make up for deathly hallows 1, costume and adapted screenplay for philosophers stone and cinematography for prisoner of azkaban.
the Oscars its only for the American movie industrie ( i hate it) i love way more the movies from Europe

True hp and narnia is legit the best no cap here
If you get to play in such an amazing franchise the publicity and the recognition of millions of fans from that is way more valuable than an oscar
They deserve something even than an Oscar
Deathly hallows part one and two and the goblet of fire is definitely not for children
Oscar is overrated & should not be taken seriously
Because Harry Potter isn’t the kind of movie the Academy likes to reward - a) fantasy; b) blockbuster; and c) a children’s movie.
Lord of the Rings was also largely snubbed, winning only six of its first nineteen nominations, all in minor categories. It wasn’t until RotK that it swept because RotK was. Just. That. Good. and Hollywood could no long ignore it.

and they deserved it.
The truth is, the Oscar doesn't deserve Harry Potter

Thwy were never given a Oscar because they would win all the time :)
No not really, there were far better films
@@seanb.3837 I’m not lying, there were better films that beat them at the Oscars, ya’ll acting as if HP are some of the greatest films ever, when they are not, they are good adaptations and are entertaining blockbusters that do some impressive things but they’re just good.
Should have won cinematography for HP3 and HP6 : amazingly directed movies.
I loved that spellbooked was in this lmao
you know what we couldn't care less, i personally enjoyed the movies as a kid, as teenager and as an adult and I guess millions of others have this same sentiment.
Sometimes award loose their recognition and authenticity by overlooking such masterpieces.
Many movies are viewed only because they won an academy award, but potterverse will continue to fascinate generations and tingle many imaginations as it has done in last 2 decades.
A face on the back of someone's head looked unrealistic?
Well, okay....
Andrew Adamson, the director of the first Narnia movie, once said in an interview that they owed Harry Potter for making audiences interested in anything British; and the trend to adapt a British story with an all-British cast for a Hollywood franchise is common place now.
they are too good for Oscars😌
The Harry Potter series won millions of people's heart and it's recognised world wide! So who gives a shit about an Oscar? Oscars just don't deserve this masterpiece
